I learned about the 10mm from a FBI friend of mine. I bought a Glock 20. Shortly afterward I had a very large IRS refund and bought a lot of 10mm +P hollow point from Doubletap. Being retired military senior officer. I have unusually large hands, the G20 fit me perfectly. I still own a couple of 9mm and enjoy shooting them. But my G20 and G29 to me are the best ever. There are so many Glock haters in the world, and I am wealthy enough to buy anything I want, but to me a Glock 10mm is the best. I just hope to God I never have to use one.
My mom bought the first glock in the 80s when it came out in America and she's still rocking it!!!!!!!
Has she had to do any repairs to it yet??

That’s cool! I know they were more rare back then.
This my favorite glock hands down.
Put it on your channel
I own both G20 & G29 and there awesome 10mms to shoot. The recoil is very manageable it’s not what people think. 10mm all the way🔥🔥🔥🔥
10mm recoil ain't as bad as i thought it was going to be either I got the glock 20 I found some practice 10mm 50rds for 19.99
Rocking the 40 mos and I love it!
How about compared to 45acp?
@Joshua Burdette the recoil
How I prefer a full size handgun for hunting but the g29 looks like it's pretty versatile as far as whether you want it for EDC
12:25 For people who get their pinky finger pinched shooting G29 (and/or G26), with Pearce or other extension, or just the standard mag, here's a tip I learned over the years: The pinch comes from the magazine rocking back and forth under recoil, which causes the gap in the front to open and close. If you got your pinky near that gap, and/or you grab the gun really hard (shooting basics #1: grip the gun tightly) that you're literally squeezing your "meat" into that gap, you'll get pinched.
This doesn't happen to everyone. My hand is about medium sized but I prefer large gloves. I used to get pinched by G26 all the time. The Glock factory plus two extension on G26 mag worked better than Pearce. It pinched less but not completely gone. The solution is to put a Danco rubber o-ring onto the mag so it fills that gap, reducing or eliminating the back and forth movement. For G26 #17 o-ring works perfectly for me. For G29, I tried several and found #33 o-ring works the best. #39 could also work, it's the one with the same-sized Wall (the thickness of the rubber "band") but with a larger diameter (the "ring" is larger). I found #39 required a little more force to shove the mag in and get latched. #33 will stretch and make the wall even thinner (1/16" is the thinnest wall o-ring I can find). Here are some useful links:

"If you're recoil sensitive, stick with the 9mm" LOL. Recoil sensitivity is the reason I've gone to hand grenades, you don't have to be as accurate and it typically only requires 1.
Madlad 🤣
I prefer to douse myself in gasoline and set myself on fire. Then I run at the suspect.
That's a workable way to look at it. Same with my 12ga.
😂🤣😂🤣👍
A suicide vest works as well....
Must be Tis the Season. I just bought the Glock 29SF two days ago and ordered the Pearce Grip Extension. Peace and joy to all the Glock 29 owners 🤗
Yup. Got myself a G29SF three months ago for $465 brand new (using GSSF member coupon from a blue label dealer), can't beat that. Though I can't shoot, can't find any ammo so far :)
Learned this from other people: if you also get pinched by the grip extension, try a Danco #33 o-ring from Home Depot. It should reduce the mag from rocking back and forth under recoil, and thus reduce the pinching :)
I have this same gen 4, and it does not get babied at all, she definitely gets used!
And peace and joy to you as well good sir!
Going to buy one with this next stimulus that passed today.
Just bought mine yesterday for $640 , picking it up on the 4th
I agree about the recoil. You get used to it. The G29 is actually the first pistol I ever bought, and it has forced me to pay close attention to proper technique, which in hindsight I think has been a good thing. This is indeed a manageable firearm.
My 29 goes with me everywhere every day.
Terrific video! Fast paced, well planned, entertaining and very informative. No monotonous, meaningless, time sucking fluff, just good content. You could give a lot of guys lessons. I'm now a subscriber.
I have had one for many years as my concealed carry and love it.
You know that gun 10mm is a handful when you see sootch skin jumping around all over the cam. Huge fan sootch
Lol! Especially one handed.... it's a beast but I love it Thanks melmiti!

My G29 is my winter carry since 2008. The finish on that fun is amazing, still looks new. Sig P365 for summer, LCP for pocket carry when deep concealment is necessary.
You have some of the best recoiled control. You make it look like a 9mm. Thank you for the video
Just purchased my glock 29 ran 100 rounds through it NO PROBLEMS
Girl you fine
That’s like 6 magazines..try shooting it a little more
At the range what Ammo did you run in the grain just asking
10mm and 40s&w are my favorite Handguns from Glock.
I've got a Gen 3 G29 SF that I had TMT Gucci out for me with an optic cut, suppressor-height sights, forward serrations, stipple job, trigger guard double-undercut, a Gunfighter Solutions trigger, a TLR-1HL & a multicam cerakote. It shoots softer than my 5" Sig 1911 in 10mm. It also carries easier & will accept 15-round G20 mags.
Perfect hand cannon.
I EDC my G29gen4 with my own handloads.200gr xtp,cci300 primer,10.0gr Blue Dot, new Starline brass. 2 or 4 leged I have it covered!
Got my 29 with the xgrip so I use the Glock 20 mags, run a KKM stainless steel barrel and load my mags with 220 buffalo bore ammo. Best carry gun I ever had. I still have my Colt Delta Elite 10mm, but can't beat the 15 round Glock 20 mag in the 29. Carry it every day, in the woods and the city.
I have the 29 also and carry it in the woods with Underwood 180 grain. She’s a handy in this size for a 10 mm.
Recoil is more than a 9 but nothing like the felt recoil of heavier hitting revolvers.
Literally just bought one and was looking for your review of it. Good timing
I love it when a plan comes together. Thanks Logan
How much and where can I find 1. I have to add this to my collection
The best millimeter!
Nothing to not love about the G29, congrats Sootch.
I have had a model 29 for years. Loved it since the day i bought it. Paid next to nothing for it used and it shoots great
Awesome,, just picked up the G29 a few months ago and really loving it by far. It has a bit of a bite but not to bad .👍👍👍great review sir
Have been enjoying your content over a couple of years. I feel you are genuine and do it your way on yt. Wish you and your family a Happy Holiday, Sir. From north Sweden
Great video Don.
Anyone who owns a 10mm, should have a G29.4
I picked up a new one when the 10mm Gen4 came out. Absolutely a sweet shooter.
First Glock I ever shot was my instructor/friend's Glock 29. We shot a full power load: a 200 grain JHP load if I remember correctly. It was quite a handful lol.
As a guy used to 1911s and .45 ACP, I definitely felt the effects of the 10mm's recoil in my palm for a few minutes afterwards though I only shot 3 rounds.
As a hoot I called the 10 mm the 40 Cooper Magnum since Jeff Cooper was critical in the development of the 10 mm
Thank you Sir, you are without question my go-to when it comes to guns and gear. Well done. Thanks again...
I’m really more a 1911 style firearm guy but everyone needs to have at least 1 Glock.. I have a G27 40 cal, but I have a conversion barrel for 9mm so I can go back and forth on what caliber I’m carrying.. If they sell conversion barrels to make this a 40 and a 9mm this would be the cats ass of compact pistols.
Glock mags at lease 40 and 9mm interchange in my G27
The only Glock I own because I wanted a compact 10mm. Great video!
I have all three Glock 10mm’s. But I only own 10mm pistols. Carry anything less feels too feminine.
How much are they I have to get 1
@Izzy Rod As with most handguns accuracy depends on the shooter. It does shoot as well as any of my other pistols. I’m used to shooting my full-size XDM in 10mm so I was expecting the recoil on the 29 to be really snappy, especially with hot loads, but was surprised to find out it wasn’t bad at all. It’s a good little gun.
@@Kenton-tn4gy thanks for that I have all 9mm guns but I'm sure a 10 mm will not be a problem. Cant wait to shoot one
@@ninjazxd Damn well said
sootch00 that is some impressive recoil management while you were shooting! I watched closely and the rapid fire and even with one hand (while next to barrel) was impressive, while seeing the muzzle rise little. Also liked the slow closeup of the gun (good videography). Keep up the good work. (one of your million subscribers). :). I will share this video on social media too..
I have the G40 and love it. Added some night sights and a TRL1HL. Loaded with 15 rounds 155gr CorBon DPX, it makes a potent HD pistol.
Had mine for about 4 years and I absolutely love it. Carry it all the time.
Im thinking about a .45 acp or 10mm got any opinions? Mostly for home defense
@@fuse911 depending on your budget really. I keep a glock 20 10mm in my nite stand. Decently priced, but rounds are a little pricy. I prefer the springfield armory 1911 .45. But in 1911s, there are definitely cheaper options. When I go riding my atv, I carry a glock 29, 10mm. Springfield makes a fantastic production 1911s, colt is a great 1911 gun, but the price point is outrageous.
@@gatornation3889 I personally like the desert eagle ones to be honest but cant come to spend 3k on one yet lol (the gold titanium version) but yeah man im looking at glock glock 29s for every day carry 500$ is not bad i will spend that money for a reliable gun that will last a long time rather then save 200$ and get a Hi point and end up getting jammed on lol
@@fuse911 I have the 20 and 29 glock. The only thing i will say is, get night sites put on.
@@gatornation3889 i heard if u use something bigger than a 9mm for home defense like a 10mm or .50 you can get in trouble for attempted murder but if it was a .22 then thats alright. Is that true?
Love mine! I’ve had it for about 3 years and is one of my edc pistols. Ammo is still available and cheaper than 9mm in these COVID times...
I did the Pierce +2 extension on my 29. Workks good. On my 20 I had to get a +5 or 10% mag spring from Wolff. Factory spring was a hit and miss on the last round hold open with the Pierce +2. 13 rounds in a compact 10mm. Life is good.
I've been considering getting one of these and found your video very helpful and comprehensive.
I have had the (Gen 4) 20 and 29 for several years and most recently purchased the model 40. It is definitely noticeable how the model 40 tames the 10mm. I certainly do like the 10mm.
So do I and I have all three Glock 10MM as well.
thats my new EDC, love it, Pearce mag extensions are a must for sure
I love my G20C and Gen 3 G29, both with Pachmayr Tactical slip on sleeves…the 29 is a great carry weapon
Love my G29! It’s my do everything trail/fishing CCW gun. For hunting I go with G20 full size.
Just picked one up and put the biggest backstrap with the beavertail on it. Totally agree with Sootch. I was expecting it to be difficult to handle but it has almost a buttery quality to it like a 45. Once you know what to expect it just gets better. I haven't put the xgrip on the 15rd mags or the talon grips on it either. Shot my friend's Glock 33 357sig with very similar subcompact frame and it's very snappy and unpleasant to shoot in comparison. Very impressed with the 29 and even better, the ballistics are so similar to the 20, it's negligible. Initially wasn't sure if I made a good decision for a few days after purchase since the 20 wasn't available, but now I would have picked the 29 over the 20 for my first 10mm, though I will eventually get the 20 as well.
Man you shooting that beast like it's a 9mm 💪🏾🇺🇸
I picked this gun up 3 years ago and I love it. Friends tgst shoot it get surprise and liked it to. Pretty compact little heavy but over all its great.
Dropped in a new Alpha Wolf barrel, McNally trigger, and Ameriglo sights on my G29, 20, and 40. They are all now good to go for lead and reload rounds!
Love the reviews on your channel...then the bloopers are awesome as well.
Thanks Brother! There's always bloopers! lol!
i have the g26 and love it... i added the +3 mag extension and now i can get a full grip on it, it really made the difference.
Try it with a G19 mag and an X-Grip mag adapter. Gives you G19 capacity with a smaller foot print. They make the X-Grip for the G17 mags too, but it feels weird as the grip gets longer than the barrel. A grip plug helps with any wobble you may encounter.
@@EarthAltar i also have a g17 and this is why i bought the 26, the mags are compatable... the 33round fun sticks also perform well in both guns. the 26 is my daily carry gun
@@isellcatlitter Mine too. I love my 26. So versatile.
I been carrying the 29sf for a few months and haven’t been disappointed now I have a red dot on it still carry everywhere
I carry mine quite often anymore....with the Pearce grip extension it adds two rounds and makes it easier to control. I put Tru-Glo sights on mine that also helps.
"I really feel at home with Glock." Me too. 👍👍
I just shot the 29 a couple of weeks ago. The recoil was much less than I thought it would be. For me, I think the short grip was more than made up for by the thickness of the 29.
I’ve owned the Glock 20, and it was a real joy to shoot and hand-load for. The 23 is next on my to get list, the 29 is too small for me. There is one difference between the 10MM and the 40S&W that people may or may not know, and that is the case. The 10MM is a straight sided case, were the 40 S&W has a internal taper in its case. That’s why the 40 was designed to handle up a 180 Gr, while the 10MM can handle up to a 200 Gr
I have 2 G40s, but never thought about getting a G29. Based on this review, I will certainly check it out.
The 9x25 conversion barrel makes it into a wicked cannon.
With the insane hyper-inflated prices of firearms and ammunition these days, it will have to go on my long-term wish list. I'm not going to spend 25% more than list price for one of these right now. Being a firearm Enthusiast right now it's pretty depressing. Stock is ridiculously low, and prices are insane.
💯‼️
Glock 29 on sale at psa for $650, and that’s about what they normally go for. . not to mention 10mm at most stores I go to, and for sometimes less than 9mm!
Long term wish list is assuming you’ll live a long time, buy that gun and don’t look back!
Although I do agree when it comes to ammo, I’m even tempted to sell any 9mm or 5.56 chambered firearms because it’s always so damn ridiculous when the panics happen
Looked at one today at my local gun store new for $649. May offer him $600. I like my glock 20 also.
After taxes mine came out to $742 but that’s not bad at all
I went to the store looking for a G30 last year. Low and behold, they had one of these 10mm bad boys. I never bought a gun so fast in my life!
Just picked one uo, got the pearce pinky extension coming in the mail. Cant wait to put some rounds through this beast!

Great review. I also enjoy your thoroughness. Now I want to buy one!
This thing was really rocking u in the beginning. That alone scared me away along with the scarcity and pride of the ammo but 10mm for home defense is a thought.
I had a Springfield XD in .45 ACP that I traded for a Glock 29. The Springfield felt like a 2 x 4 with a spongecake trigger that let go somewhere along its twenty miles of travel. I've never regretted the trade.
Glad to see someone else shares my disdain for the XDs trigger, people shit on glocks stock pistol but it’s way better than the XD

10 mm was not designed by the FBI . Norma made the first factory ammo for the Bren Ten pistol . Then Colt chambered the Delta Elite pistol in it .
We know what he meant. The FBI brought that cartridge to market by necessity. It evolved from there.
@@SultanofSpey your time line is off , the FBI want a more powerful cartridge after the Miami shoot out . The 10 mm already existed, Jeff Cooper & the long defunct Donoris & Dixon company brought the Bren Ten to market . Norma made the ammo & it was very hot stuff . Colt brought their Delta elite after that . Smith & Wesson came out with their stainless D/A pistols for the FBI then . Glock brought out their model 20 in the early 90’s if I remember right . Then others followed.
Just bought this for a backpacking/hunting carry, looking forward to shooting it!

This same exact gun is my woods-carry. It goes on fourwheeler rides, Berry picking, wade fishing, weed cutting, hiking, almost anything I do outside. You’re definitely right about the recoil, it isn’t nearly as bad as you’d think. I think even with the 220-grain Buffalo Bore Heavy Outdoorsman hard cast ammo it’s still more pleasant to shoot the gen 3 G27 in my opinion.
Appalachian Gunman:
That's good feedback!
I'm seriously thinking about this small 10 mm Glock waiting to see if Glock will come out with a Gen 5.
How do the Bufallo Bore Hard cast Lead RFN bullers work in yours?
Looking at a Glock Store Double Diamond Stainless Steel barrel option and Underwood Ammunition which is Hardcast Lead similar to Bufallo Bore that is coated to prevent leading.

Carried mine in Yellowstone with Buffalo bore hard cast, felt very comfortable with that.
I have carried a G30 for many many years and love my G21. I have several glocks and the next on my list is the G20.
I hear the 10mm was invented before the 1986 miami shootout by Jeff Cooper & an fbi agent who happened to have the Colt Delta Elite 1911 10mm mentioned that would be a better caliber than the .38
Might have to add this to my 10mm collection. Would really like to find some +2 mag extensions like the Glock 30, more for comfort and controllability than capacity.
Any plus two extension that works on the G30 mag, will also work on the G29. The mags share floor plate :)
I know two companies make plus two for the G29/G30: Pearce and Glockmeister. Both are huge :)

Very cool! If I come across one of these in the wild, it’ll be hard to resist.
Never new I needed one of these until I shot one about a week ago. Now I must own one.
I purchased two of the Pearce grip extensions and found the pistol just fit my hand so much better. I also found it then liked to pinch my little finger to the point of distraction. I read on the Glock forum that others were having the same experience and that putting on a band aid could help. It did, no more finger pinching. Just have to remember to put that band aid on before I go hiking in bear country...
A tip I got for that from someone was to add a #29 o-ring to the mag from ace hardware. Sized 1-1/4 x 1-1/8 x 1/16. Rolls right down the mag to the base and closes that gap.
Dang that's a cheek shaker of a pistol!
As always another well done video Don!!! 🙌🏼
CANT WAIT!!!! Have the G20 but I NEEEEDS this. Reminds me of my G30sf
Colt Delta Elite is a great 10mm. Used it as a carry pistol for 20 years while hunting.
I've been carrying the Glock 29 as my EDC/CCW for years now, and honestly I don't even like the thought of going back to the other lower powered cartridges. I also have the Glock 40 for my woods gun. My preference, is to weed out any rounds that I can't get a minimum of 1200 FPS. If I can't get 1200fps or above, than I might as well be carrying any of the other common, lower powered guns. The Glock 29 with factory barrel and full power loadings between 135gr-165gr, can be expected to produce between 1,200 and 1,300fps with 500ftlbs to 600ftlbs of energy. I don't like the idea or tactic of having to rapid fire so many rounds into any target, to stop it. I like to have the idea in mind, that I will take the minimum amount of shots required to stop a threat, since we are liable for every round that exits our guns. My Glock 29 is set up with:
Trijicon HD night sights, Streamlight TLR-8, Strike Industries Locking Block Ant-Walk Pins set, Lone Wolf Stainless Steel Guide Rod (Captured spring), Pierce Mag Plate for extending the grip to allow using pinky, Extended Slide Lock, Extended take down lever, melted (dehorned) Mag release button, slight under cut and rounded off under trigger guard for comfort, stippling throughout but left side of pistol grip left original on the areas that make contact to my body on strong side carry, polished all trigger and extractor parts striker etc, polished the metal rails that the slide rides on.
why bother putting all that garbage on your G29 lol. Dude's over here sounding like he's customizing a barbie doll

I appreciate the clarity and no nonsense exposition in this video. Thank you.
We need more like it. I will be watching for your videos.
I have one suggestion: cut back on the repetitions, redundancies, and anything that adds verbiage but not new ideas.
You made the point for example about the 10s greater recoil several times. I agree with you that the 10mm can be mastered by many people if they learn proper technique. But your frequent comments about its recoil would I believe make some of your audience, pardon the expression, gun shy.
There were other repetitions.
So, in sum, I like your work with only that one concern.
Thank you again.
Ivy
I’m waiting for the G29 in GEN 5 as well.

10mm is the only round I've been seeing here in Southern Utah. I want a big game concealed gun this seems to be the only option out there. Im a sig sauer guy though usually don't like glocks.

Do it!

Too bad I am covid broke this year, but that is a score! You deserve it. Sometimes you just have to make sure they come home to a loving household. Hope he has fun meeting his brothers and sisters.
Before this is deemed hate speech..
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Be safe
Love the 29 and 30.
The best Glocks imo
Its perfect for if your going out and need protection from 2 to 4 legged predators. There are times I do travel and have to go from a town to some wilderness or abandoned area and back. Thats where this excels over the 20/40. Specially if the market ever gets its butt together to make better barrels.
Love Talon Grips. I have them on all 3 of my Glocks (G19, G22, and G43).
I have has a G29SF for the past 4 years and love it. I don’t understand how someone cannot handle this firearm.
Have carried it for over 10 yrs qualifying year after year on ice qt and fbi blue and always at the top scores over many 17s and 19s my coworkers carry
@@stepheneridania thanks for your comment all these so called tough guys winning about recoil. I know I'm getting 1 now I'm sure I can handle it. Let the soft guys get smaller ammo lol.
@@jamebrewington4212 let me be clear though if you are considering... The first time i shot it i thought oh no whatttt. Then i got a job at a gun shop. I thought i knew how to shoot 4 20 yrs. I was wrong. Then within minutes i learned .and then i went from a ok passing to a ...I'll say it "freak." the only missed points were the 3 shots 3 sec from holster and rotating/facing target from 3 ft. The recoil was finally too much. I am a rso. When we all lined up there were many shots into the ceiling from my coworkers. I stopped wasting the 3rd shot after a year..if you have any questions about this firearm just reply
Best hand gun round ever......👍
Excellent insightful video on a truly Universal multi purpose everyvday 24/7 carry pistol.
If I could have only one Glock 10mm it would be the Glock 29SF.
This is by far the most versatile multi purpose, universal Personal Safety Defensive Device available to date.
Full of knowledge, i love your videos brother
