- Rusty Rails & Loaded Phosphate Train In The Bone Valley! Rails Before & After CSX Train & Both Sides! Tropicana/Intermodal Train Changes Signal From Green To Red, Amtrak New Charger Locomotives Chase & Chessie System Heritage Locomotive #1973 In Florida. These Trains Are In Bradley Junction, Lakeland & Mulberry, Florida On CSX Lines.
First, we see a heavy phosphate train going around the railroad diamond in Bradley Junction. We went there and noticed the tracks were all rusty and dead looking. It had rained the night before so the rust was light. Bradley Junction looked dead so we headed back to Mulberry but on the way northbound I started picking up chirps on the end of train frequency. I noticed that they got weak so I turned around and went back. We got back to Railroad Ave at the junction just in time to catch the CSX southbound train. After we filmed it we decided to chase it to film the other side at a railroad crossing. I show the rusty rail before and after the train.
Next we are in Lakeland, Florida where the old train station used to be. I got a nice train running north with Tropicana and intermodal cars. Notice the line side signals change as the train passes it. That was cool! I knew Amtrak would be following behind it and I decided to film Amtrak at the Lakeland Amtrak station. That was a bad idea because the traffic was heavy and I got stuck at a half dozen red lights. I almost beat Amtrak to the Kentucky Ave crossing but I came up short. I got out of the car and filmed it zipping by. Then I continued on to the station since Amtrak had to make a stop there. After getting stuck at a couple of more lights and getting in heavy traffic I arrived just as Amtrak was leaving. I did manage to get the train with 2 of the new Siemens Charger locomotives leading. They are part of a 75 unit order that is being delivered throughout 2024. The locomotives are being built in Sacramento, California. Notice also that Mrs Tooth filmed the train leaving from a farther distance.
This video also shows the CSX Chessie System Heritage Unit. We found the locomotive idling with a medium size train in Winston Yard, Mulberry, Florida. We waited around for over an hour for it to leave but it never did. It left later in the evening and then showed up here again a couple days later.
Best frequencies for the areas in this video are 161.370, 160.230, 160.590 and 452.9375. We stayed at the Best Western in Mulberry since it has a great view of the CSX line that runs to Bowling Green to the Mosaic Phosphate Mine. Make sure you get a room with an even number to be on the front side of the building and try to get on the second floor for the best view. The line isn't very busy but trains can show up at any time.
Don't miss the Live Action Pets and the slide show at the end. There is a short clip of me trying to get some oranges from a tree in an abandoned phosphate mine that is now a state park. We did see quite a few alligators and I filmed a bobcat. There was actually an alligator in the ditch in front of our motel.
Filmed Monday, February 12, 2024 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

It's definitely a fascinating train presentation as always 👍
Greetings from India 🇮🇳
Thank you very much!
The new Amtrak locomotives are just fabulous looking!! 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤
If that's Amtrak and it's south of Lakeland, it's on the CSX Auburndale Subdivision.
I agree!
@@DTD110865it was between Lakeland and Tampa 😊
I love your Florida videos. Always something new. Please keep making more. Have a nice day 😊🌈
I have a few more good ones to put together from Florida. The next one will be my favorite Florida video. I am finishing it up right now
Another enjoyable video, Jaw Tooth (and Mrs. Tooth as well).
Glad you enjoyed it
Hey JT,
I love the rail shine before and after comparisons. Keep 'em comin.
Thanks, Xander Z.
Great video all round JT. 👍👍👍. You too noticed the open door on the mail car 👍👍
That was interesting 😊
Amazing videos Jaw Tooth keep up the good work
Thanks! Will do!

I think so too!
Brian did you notice very little graffiti on these cars great catch great video thanks Brian and Mrs for having us along with you on the vacation
Yes I did. They look fairly new
That was a fairly long CSX open hopper train! I also like the tall and abbreviated hoppers, JT. 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Yes it was!
Morning JT ! Nice video!!
Morning!
Thanks for another good video . Hope you and your family enjoy the vacation
Thanks 👍
On the side wall of CSX locomotive #7507, there is the inscription "20% Biodiesel". It's the first time I've noticed such an inscription. A sign of ecology?
Yes🎉
I CANT BELIEVE THAT MR AND MRS JAWTOOTH ARE HERE FILMING TRAINS IN FLORIDA. HOW Exciting is that people???!!!😅😅😅😅
Love the name railroad Avenue JT. Fab CSX train too, although very noisy! What a fab close up of amtrak double decker JT, awesome. Looked very stormy in Florida that day.❤😊👍
Many thanks!
Nice job of train spotting JT! Glad your Florida trip was worthwhile. Good to see Mrs. Tooth out with you.
Thanks 👍
1st time I noticed the Biodiesel labeling on loco.
Magnificent catches of the trains coming by and pass, I like it 5 stars.
Thumbs up.
Keep up the perfect work, Brian, Greetings from Portugal to the USA.
Many thanks!
@@JawTooth no problem.
@@JawTooth its very nice of you to mention one of your followers on the video despite their birthday.
Awesome location and catches Jawtooth! Its great to see some greenery and warmth again too!👍
Many thanks!
Very awesome live action Brian. I just love how they shine up the tracks after they go through like that. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching my videos!
You work hard, you deserve a vacation!
It was a fun trip
Now that was a good one JT!!!
Thanks 😊
I always like grocery shopping, shopping and malls.
The best!
Great video JT. Love that Florida "Live action" and those Tropicana box cars...
Thanks 👍
Nice video, Jaw Tooth. The train you chased is a daily run from Ridgewood to Agrock and return. Agrock is about 8 miles south of Bradley Jct.
The signals you see pertain to the remote radio controlled switches on each of the wye tracks. The diamond you mentioned is protected by stop signs. Spent a lot of time around there in my 44 years as a conductor.
You might get lucky and catch the Arcadia job that runs whenever to deliver interchange traffic to Seminole Gulf.
Air dump hoppers. The place where you stopped with a huge stack out all alone is a remnant of the Brewster mine. A branch connected Brewster to Lonesome Mine, some 20 miles.
Watch out for Distant Signal, this is his turf. Be safe and ale care. Love your northern videos as well.
Jaw tooth is awesome! Really enjoy your videos, including all the furbabies!
Thank you so much!
Shout out to Mrs JawTooth 👌👌👍👍👌🤗
First train was sure different. I never saw cars like those before. Love the Chessie locomotive. The Amtrak train was great too. ❤
Thanks for watching!
Man, y'all are having a good time down there! Videoing trains, basking in nice weather and sight seeing, great winter break. It's amazing how fast those Amtrak trains can stop and take off again.
Keep up the videos and having fun!
You got that right! I tried to catch up to one that had some FRA cars on it and I could not catch them
I absolutely love that Chessie power! I think they had the best logo ever!
good day to you and the Mrs looks like some not bad weather down there can really hear the wind lots of great shots and the video is once again fantastic well done and have a smooth day
Thanks, you too!

Thanks for the video Brian, enjoy your stay! Stay well roll on
Thanks, you too!
Thanks for the video. Love that old Chessie System color scheme. My brother has an HO scale of one.
Thanks for watching 😊
Very cool Amtrak engines :)
Indeed!
Hey JT great video my friend specially, when you showed me there 200 pound rail being shined by the train passing by in Florida and the bonus part of it was seeing kitty sleeping.. 😊
That's awesome! Thanks for watching
We visited Florida years ago when the kids were a lot younger and loved it….once I got used to driving on the ‘wrong’ side of the road!
Man it was strange. (I’m English)
But it was great fun finding railroads, we found a Shortline terminal with several locomotives just sitting around so I took lots of pictures.
Thanks for jogging my memory JT.
Thanks for sharing! How do you drive on the left hand side? Lol
Windy, but warm. Lol
18:25 - I love the sound of that Amtrak locomotive horn.
That was cool 😊
Great video Jawtooth keep on making more videos as we keep watching more of your videos
Thanks! Will do!
Really enjoyed the Bradley Junction video. Good stuff Buddy.
Thanks 👍
Omg!!! My grandmother, great grandmother and family are all from Bradley Junction. Rest their souls. Their houses are literally right next to the tracks on hwy 37. I spent soooo many days there while growing up. Thank you for this video. It still largely looks the same as it did in the 80s and 90s. Thank you for the nostalgic memories.
Oh wow! That’s awesome! I bet that was fun
85 cars on CSX phosphate loads, good footage of Intermodel diverting and Amtrak!🛤🚂
Many thanks!
Jaw Tooth those cars look like Ballast cars., thanks for a very awesome video, and tell Mrs. Tooth, thank you for filming the Trains, Too. Ya'll Be blessed.
Air operated wet rock phosphate cars.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for clarity.

I like how you caught that train going around the curve.
Thanks Steve 😊
Awesome train 🚆 video from Brian. It's very interesting to see 👀 it.😊
Glad you enjoyed it
Enjoy watching trains from the sunshine state, cool phosphate train, and CSX 1973. Thanks JT. Now I know what they mean by “polishing the rails “.
Thank you too!
That was a nice catch and case of the phosphate train, Jaw Tooth! It is good that you keep your scanner on when you are driving. Having the scanner on allowed you to hear the end of train device and turn around to catch the phosphate train. Those Tropicana refrigerator cars must have been a priority move to be attached to an intermodal train. Even with all the red lights that you encountered you did catch the Amtrak train at Lakeland, Florida.
Thanks 👍 The scanner pays off all the time. It really helps a lot. I tracked the train down by listening to the signal strength of the end of train device. Thats how I find the rock trains on the CCET. I will have more Florida videos including an FEC train in Vero Beach on the east coast
P092 at Lakeland heading to Tampa and then turning to head north.
Intermodal is I046 out of Tampa to Jax Ramp. The troops run on that train due to PSR. Used to run as a unit train of 65 orore cars every day.
Nice catch on the Chessie heritage unit.
Hey Jaw Tooth!!
Great video!!
Several years ago Alan John Smith aka Millennium Force posted a video showing the old Lakeland station platform after the station had been demolished and the video also showed MOW equipment parking nearby for the night.
Have a great day!!
Very cool! I met up with him and filmed in Dade City with him. I will be in his Stupid Orange video lol
Nice catch on the Chessie unit.
Thanks!
For the last month you seem to be a magnet for high wind perhaps you could be a consultant and site locator for those wind farms. The lead unit on the CSX phosphate train had a notation on the nose about being biodiesel. Very nice footage at Lakeland showing how the train slinks away plus the signal was a double drop. The two senior catching up on their dog and cat dreams makes me ready for a couple ZZZZZsss. Until tomorrow!
Thanks for watching 😊
Great catches and awesome video jaw tooth
Thanks 😊
Another awesome video JT and we have one of those new engines of Amtrak running through my little town in Louisiana from New Orleans to New York City and they run it as far as Atlanta Georgia and turn it around and come back to New Orleans. They keep the same two engines until it’s time for them to be serviced and they try to service them in New Orleans but I know one of the engineers and he says it will run 135 miles an hour but anyway you stay safe out there my friend and hold onto something cause the wind about to blow you away. Lmaoooo
Thanks for watching 😊🎉
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo !
Merci à vous 😊
@@JawTooth Passez une très bonne journée ! 🖐🖐🙏
Wow! Excellent catching all the trains, including Amtrak, I like them all, @JawTooth, Brian, thank you very much.
Glad you like them!
Nice catch. Both the train and the heritage unit
Thanks 😊
The old Lakeland railroad station site you refer to was not built until sometime around 1960-63. Because I was born in Lakeland, it was the "new" railroad station to us. The OLD station was in downtown Lakeland and was sandwiched between Munn Park and the railroad tracks at the end of Tennessee Ave, which did not cross the tracks there in those days. The current Amtrak station is the newest and is only about two blocks from the OLD station location (at Munn Park). The diverging track to the right, shown in your video when the Amtrak train was pulling out, was the branch that went all the way down to Ft. Myers. Actually, it went all the way to Vanderbilt Beach at one time. It even had passenger service on it until Amtrak took over in 1971. It serves as the lead to an industrial area now, located just south of Lakeland. Thanks for the views of my old hometown (Lakeland).
Thanks for the information! That was very interesting 😊
Thanks for taking us to Florida again JT! I imagine the rails get rusted quicker in the salt air than they do back home. Awesome video and cool catch on the Chessie System loco!
🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍🇺🇸
Thanks for watching! I think they do rust a little faster. It had rained a little over night and made drop let rust
Yay, I have been waiting for this video. Thank you.
You are so welcome!
Wow 1st time to see csx biodiesel logo 😊❤
Another fantastic video my dear friend! Greetings from Brasil 🇧🇷
Thank you! Cheers! Have a great week Rodrigo!
Congratulations once again for yoru excellent footage!
Many thanks!
Hey JT! If your still in FL checkout the Florida east coast railway at Delray Beach. Atlantic Ave crossing. Lots of nice restaurants here and the FEC usually comes flying through this part of town. Lots of people out and about here. Great for train and people watching in the evening. Great place to take Mrs. Tooth out for dinner in between trains. FEC has some interesting motive power and some cool looking signals.
Thanks for the info! We went to Vero Beach and filmed FEC and Brightline. I will post those videos soon
I guess that engineer likes brake noises. That was nerve racking.
Got them good oranges!
Great catches jaw 👍🏻😎 Robin out
Thanks 😊
Welcome to fla I watch your videos all the time I live in frostproof fl
Awesome! I drove through Frostproof. I was on both sides of the state and in the middle. Thanks for watching my videos!
Another impressive video 😊😎👌👍!
Thanks again!
JT you are very correct what you said about the traffic signals in Lakeland. They are horrible. I live here & I know you ain’t lying! Keep up the great videos. ☺️👍🏼
Thanks for watching 😊
Great to see some passenger action amongst the heavy freight. Those new ALC 42s look great too. Nice one
Many thanks!
Nice Video
Thanks
The traffic lights around Largo, Clear Water, St. Pete... are unbelievably long. But, it gave us time to look at the direction app on our phone while out and about site seeing.
Yes that’s a good way to look at it 😊
Good morning jaw tooth
Evey time I'm out there I see always see something
🎄🍁🇮🇳🍁🎄
Awesome Video!
Thank you very much!
One of these days I sure hope ol Shoestring decides to go on an adventure down south into Florida...
Maybe one day! I was just talking to him today
Great work as always
JawTooth 👍 🚂🚃🚆
Many thanks!
Phosphate trains is probably like Florida version of a coal train since they probably don't even see a coal train. Phosphate cars are cool looking and different something we'll never see up this way... what do they do with the phosphate anyway
They use it for fertiliser. It's rare to see a coal train in Florida. The Big Bend power plant at Apollo Beach just switched over to natural gas so forget the trains that served it. They already removed both of the smoke stacks that were for the coal burning. I was over there last week checking it out
I figured they did something to it... thanks
Good morning Jaw Tooth.
Hello there!
Awesome 😊
Thanks 🤗
That train is transporting a lot of Phosphate
A huge pile 😊
I enjoyed that video👍👍

Great Film 🎥

One of these Florida vacation days, Jaw Tooth needs to set a railfan meet-up with Dan Harmon (Distant Signal Prod.)
That would be fun 😊
Awesome video but wait there’s more 👍🚂🇺🇸😎👍

Great video fair play

Love getting Jawtooth videos from other states! I wonder if rails just get rustier quicker in Florida 'cause of the humidity.
Good question! I would say yes
Good video Jawtooth
Thanks!
