Will, How does the Einstar's accuracy compare with your old Einscan H scanner? Surprisingly, the accuracy specification is not shown on the Einstar website.
Here are the stats from the software. The scanner can pick up details from scanned objects med to large from .2 mm upto 3 mm, then small objects .1mm to .5mm, portrait mode is .2mm to 3.0mm. Its extremely versatile you can scan objects as small as 50mm sq. all the way upto room sizes! I really like this scanner for everything!
James, Shinning 3D just announced the EinStar today (9/20/22), available soon pricing based on region, but sub $1000! I would expect to see details at their website soon!
It works correctly scanning in outside environments, but I don't thing you could manage the exterior or interior of a building unless it was a small. But you could always create smaller portions and assemble them into a larger interior in software. My instinct would be lidar would be a better solution or photogrammetry.
I didn't need high resolution for this scan, since Metahuman only needs the form of the head to create a Metahuman from scan. All details would be lost in the conversion. There are many resolutions you can choose from in the scanner software to best fit what you are scanning, but you need a workhorse computer to deal with large datasets generated by the software on higher resolution scans.
That is Bad Ass! Liza is Awesome! Thanks for volunteering! Thanks Will! 😎👍
Thank you Will, for this amazing video. we all love it.

Yes your back!
So goood :)
How would this compare to like a Revopoint Pop 2 scanner?
I think the software from Shining 3D is more robust. I find the pop loses tracking alot and difficult for it to reacquire its position.

Thank you for the information! Where and how can I purchase this Hardware?

Pricing is regional. Here in the United States, it is available for $799 thru the end of the month.
Very tempting.
Could this be used for exterior environments such as a abandoned building interior.

What are the dimensions of the shipped package?
15 in x 12 x 6

Liza is better in real :)
Side by side would have been nice. This scanner is soft on details which is super disappointing
