thanks for the vid. I have the same setup as you with the gen1 and picopresso. XD. Totally agree, if strictly based on functionality and use dreo wins outright. But nanofoamer gets bonus points on form factor and style. And I have to add Dreo wins on pricing as well. Their kickstarter price is roughly equals to just a discounted v2 upgrade.

My only complaint on DREO is the bulky size :D :D Other than that DREO wins it all :D :D

@@LeftyCoffee I would have bought the DREO after reading this comment from you, but they don't ship to Sweden so I have to go with Subminimal Gen2. I hope I'll manage to get the milk I want for my cappuccino. After I succeed once, then I will not need to change anything I guess

Thank you for detailed review! Compare to machine steaming, is milk from nanofoamer pro 2 still good?

Actually I think milk froth from Nano pro2 are equally on par and good. Nano pro2 can produce froth even faster than DREO. However is the cleaning part that make me headache. Even it's better than pro1, however it's not even close to DREO.

I have a Nespresso that came with this Aerrocino frother but I have been wanting more of a recipe type and their's is too expensive. I came across Dreo on Amazon on sale for 84.99 is it worth it? I drink hot and cold drinks but mostly use skim milk

How is the consistency? Because my experience with the nano pro gen 1 consistency suck I close the lid perfectly every time some times there are to many air bubbels, of with 2 cups in a row same program the first cup will have a thicker layer of foam then the second one, and the dreo work a little bit different
The cleaning part alone is 80% win for me 😂

With your comment on the lid issue and cleaning, I guess DREO is a great fit :D I still enjoy washing DREO every time after brewing now :D :D

You forgot a metric, availability. Maybe my google skills are bad but I can't find the Dreo outside of the US or UK. I enjoyed the laidback style of this video though!

You’re right, that’s a good point and should have been mentioned. Thanks !!

Cam you pour latte art straight from the Dreo, or do you need to transfer to another jug? That was a big disappointment for me with Nano,I thought it was supposed to also be able to pour art, but it can not.

You should be able to pour art direct from both DREO and Nano.
In that comparison, DREO is easier because of the outlet is art-friendly, Nano is not and its too heavy to pour.
Transferring to another jug or pitcher is personal preference. I find its easier to control and I like to use that jug for wiggling art.
Having said that, pouring from DREO is possible, the push-based art like tulip, or a simple one like heart is sure possible.
Let me put that on my list, will try it next round with some simple art from DREO.

and can you control milk froth thickness condition on both nanofoamer and dreo? Which product is more suitable for thickness control?

    • @LeftyCoffee
      @LeftyCoffee  4 месяца назад +1

Good questions. In fact both product can control the thickness with the pre-built program. Nano is number 1-5 and 1 being smallest size milk and thinnest, 5 being largest volume and biggest cup. DREO wise is very clear with the display, you can choose between cappuccino, latte, flat white, and you can even customize the temperature. My take is if you are a beginner and want to start with lesser headache then go for DREO. If you are advanced user and would like the ability to stop (as you like), or the flexibility to customize every froth, then Nano is the right one.

Dreo would win hands down if it was not for the ugly look and huge size 😅

LOL this is exactly what I thought! I think the brewing cup/pitcher on DREO was still ok and nice, is just the body that is causing all the bulkiness

    What espresso machine you use?

Im using a rocket cinquantotto (R58). On the day that Im so lazy to open up the machine, (as I need to wait it to heat up if I miss the scheduled) then I'll use Picopresso. Nanofoamer and Picopresso has been my travel gears.
