I've upgraded from Nanofoamer Lithium to the Pro Gen 2 just before I found out about the DREO. I was a little upset thinking about overpaying but the more reviews came out, the better my mood got. I find the DREO suitable for those folks not willing to pay Nanofoamer price but still get the milk heated and textured automatically. I will definitely recommend it as a budget friendly alternative to the Pro Gen2. I 100% dig the fact that the Nanofoamer has zero issues with starting milk temperature, while the microfoam dial in took no more than a couple of tries. All flow controllers are super straight forward and 200g of milk done in 2 minutes straight from the fridge is perfect. I still find the cleanup not to be the best experience, but I quickly got used to it. A quick scrub with the included brush will dissolve the small milk patch in a few seconds.
Feeling very validated in my decision to back this on KS in the final few days, hopefully they start shipping to the UK soon. Thanks for the thorough review!

Awesome review. Really happy to see more choices in that space. I've been looking into these types of foamers since I have a Cafelat Robot and also love other drinks. I was looking at either the Breville or the Maestri House since I want an easy to clean, full stainless steal and separate pitcher. If you ever get your hands on those 2, I'd love to see a comparison between the 3. You have the best reviews and I love your humor.
Been using mine for a week and really didn't have any issue at all with foam and latte art. The taste and texture is incredible. For the price and ease of use, this thing gets high marks from me. I currently use the Cafelat Robot manual espresso machine with the Dreo and have been getting the same if not better quality than from cafes I've visited in the past.
Thank you for that review! I'm using a manual lever (alm kopi from Lance's review), and usually don't drink milk beverages, but a machine like this is something I'm considering buying one day

I'm milk frother shopping as we speak and was very close to getting the Dreo but am now leaning towards the Maestri House. It ticks all the boxes for me : easy to clean (no burned milk), dishwasher safe, XL capacity, and allows you to set the temperature up to 160 degrees.
Honestly, this would be perfect to have at work. This can run while kids are doing practice problems (also use a handgrinder because it's quieter), I'm only ever making single servings of v60 aeropress or sofi, I don't have access to a microwave while in my room. Think I'm sold.

The reason why this device can beat the San Remo (or any machine with a steam wand) in terms of mouthfeel is one word: water. Steaming adds water to the milk. The end result is lower in fat than the Drea or any frother, that adds no water into the milk. Frothed microfoam will potentially feel a little creamier due to this fact alone. For these reasons, steaming is still supreme. To get more mouthfeel and to compensate for the added water into the milk, use a higher fat milk. Most "Barista" Milks are 3.8% fat, the ideal fat percentage for microfoam, in my view.

I'm considering this Dreo and just happened to see it on sale at Amazon for BF for $84.99. I have a Nespresso machine that came with this Aerrocino frother it's ok I feel like milk doesn't get hot enough and not enough settings. I also want to be able to make hot chocolate in the frother with maybe milk and chocolate syrup I know it mentions stirring powder. I had also been looking at this Nespresso recipe frother but it's too expensive and once I found this on Amazon I got intrigued and started reading reviews and so many were good. I make hot and iced and have never really made cold foam just bought a can at the store but would love to try different things with this. I like hot and cold lattes never had a flat white but am willing to try it too. I also saw the nano one but I think I like this with it's digital display and I like how it comes apart for cleaning. I don't mind the 3:30 time I will just brew my pod when it's about a minute or 30 seconds left. But it's on sale from 99.99 to 84.99 on Amazon is it worth it? I love my lattes and even want to try the latte art but I mostly use skim milk.
Nice video! Why does the coffee world ignore the best milk and drink frother/stirrer? It has all of the positives of this machine, and it's been available for over 10 years! It's the Breville Milk Cafe and it works just as well as all of these imitators. Oh well, I suppose I'll just carry on making excellent lattes with my moka pot and milk cafe.
I used Nanofoamer and now I got the DREO. It works fantastic but my only complaint is that the milk jug is small. I would think we want HOTTER milk-foam for cappuccino or latte, as we are already often too cold on the espresso sitting, and the hot milk helps it out. But not when its 75C....at least when I mess up my timing, and thats often.
How would you compare the taste between the Dreo, Nanofoamer pro v2 and a steam wand? I have the first version of the regular nanofoamer and I do not like the taste of the milk when heated in the microwave or on the stove when compared to a steam wand. Like, not even a little bit. I was wondering if anyone in the comments figured out what the settings were to get more foam. Obviously flat white is less than cappuccino. As far as oat, almond, vs milk which one has more foam
Ive used 2%, whole.milk and half and half. I always use hot thick foam setting. Adding half and half to milk makes it super frothy. But really foamy with just milk too
Thanks for the nice video about this amazing milk machine, since naming it 'just' a frother doesn't do it any good. p.s. I may hope it was 3 MINUTES and 29 SECONDS instead of the mentioned 3 HOURS and 30 MINUTES... 😉
@@aramse On single boiler its pretty much the same. You pull the shot, hit steam, wait 1-1,5mins, steam for 30 seconds then refill the boiler. I have profitec go and I am buying this because I want my milk to be ready when I have pulled the shot.
Compared to what? If you have dual boiler or HX then yes and why are you buying this? If you have flair without steam or any single boiler machine like Gaggia classic pro its like 2,5mins to heat the steam, then steam your milk and then refill the boiler.
@@DuBstep115 it’s about timing, you don’t want to let your espresso sit for this long, I wonder if you could start with the milk at the same time you start puck preparation. But even then making more than one drink would be a pain. Yes I have an HX machine, and the reason for choosing it was because at the time there weren’t any good milk steaming options for the flair. There is a company that now makes a stand alone milk steaming wand with a small electric boiler, that might be a better option.
@@DuBstep115 I think the issue is just when pulling back to back. I had people over this weekend and ended up pulling 5 shots back to back, but this is an edge case. For most days since I would only be making it for my wife and I, I think the time between shots would be totally fine.
The design look like something that went out of fashion more than 20 years ago… But being able to toss top in dishwasher is certainly a plus and the other ability dos make it more useful… the not change temp is a bummer
Same @brentroman. I had an 80% good experience with the original pro for 10 months until I used a too fresh kitchen sponge that took off some coating. I was a bit annoyed to get a replacement v2 jug but the cleanup is sooooo much better than the v1. Just a regular cloth gets you back to clean in a single wipe this time.
Damn you caught me. I was hoping to put my kids through college with the $50 I make from monetising this video and the $0 I make from anyone else buying this product. Have you ever considered applying to the FBI?
Honestly if you time it right you can have your milk and shot ready at the same time. Weighing beans, grinding, puck prep and then pulling your shot will overlap most if not all of that time right?

Ours is 230 and works five here in India. This unit was sent directly from the company to us.
@@aramse What I don't get is, why would they make this machine in 230V version and send it over to India for a review when they don't have plans to sell it in India 😄
But really foamy with just milk too
Unfortunately they seem to be sold out all around
"Freakishly large hands".... We get what you're implying
4:42 ❓
Joke. It’s 3m30s. Feels painfully slow when compared to a commercial machine.
I cannot invite the neighbors to join me with this one.
edit: because it is slow we need bigger capacity right
I bought one and the milk is just too cold on auto Latte mode. 128F. NOT hot enough! I am sending it back.
Try starting with warmer milk
Latte art porn had me 😂... and pls don't call tulip basic art bro, m going nuts just pouring the right heart everytime
Haha I feel you. It can seem really frustrating at times but stick with it and enjoy the process. Soon you'll be calling swans basic.
Do you received 110V or 220V?
Mine is 110V 😝
Hey can you please let me know how you got it? How do you get this in India?
Thanks for the nice video about this amazing milk machine, since naming it 'just' a frother doesn't do it any good.
p.s. I may hope it was 3 MINUTES and 29 SECONDS instead of the mentioned 3 HOURS and 30 MINUTES... 😉
Haha felt like 3hours. But it was indeed 3m and 30s.
whatttttttt? 3 hours and 30 minutes?
Joke. Feels like 3h30m when compared to steaming on a commercial machine. It’s 3m30s.
@@aramse On single boiler its pretty much the same. You pull the shot, hit steam, wait 1-1,5mins, steam for 30 seconds then refill the boiler.
I have profitec go and I am buying this because I want my milk to be ready when I have pulled the shot.
Three and a half minutes seems painfully slow but I guess you could change your workflow to get it to work.
@@Victor-kh5rh it probably takes me 3 minutes to grind beans, puck prep, pull shot and do some cleaning. They should be ready at the same time
@@DuBstep115 I think the issue is just when pulling back to back. I had people over this weekend and ended up pulling 5 shots back to back, but this is an edge case. For most days since I would only be making it for my wife and I, I think the time between shots would be totally fine.
@@Victor-kh5rh 5 shots back to back is coffee stop pace. You need a good dual boiler for that
The design look like something that went out of fashion more than 20 years ago…
But being able to toss top in dishwasher is certainly a plus and the other ability dos make it more useful… the not change temp is a bummer
Please compare to a retail unit. My message seems to have been autodeleted but DREO really scammed us on this one when it comes to temperatures
How so? What version do you have?
@@winexprt My replies keep getting deleted so I'm not even going to bother anymore
@@wg0pipi I have retail unit, 180ml of milk heats up to 65c from +5c milk straight from fridge
Makes me wish that I didn’t kickstart the original nanofoamer pro. I HATE the UX and cleaning.
My condolences! Nanofoamer pro is a pain. I'm glad I held off that one and this one comes at a right time
I agree. The cleaning is frustrating as hell. I would never buy a frother that doesnt have a separate top made from stainless steel again!

Seems reliable. I mean, when has a guy from India ever tried to scam anyone for money?
Damn you caught me. I was hoping to put my kids through college with the $50 I make from monetising this video and the $0 I make from anyone else buying this product. Have you ever considered applying to the FBI?
@@aramse lol gotem
3 minutes 30 blows my mind. That’s an instant fail for me.
Honestly if you time it right you can have your milk and shot ready at the same time. Weighing beans, grinding, puck prep and then pulling your shot will overlap most if not all of that time right?
Yet your espresso machine takes 10-25mins to warm up
