    Like me - it is not classical coloring the video, but this approach works well!

    Great tutorial. I'm migrating from fcpx and still learning. Your nodes in the video were in this sequence: (1Edits, 2Hdr, 3Detail, 4Luts). Do you think rearranging the sequence as (1original, 2Luts, 3Edits, 4Hdr, 5Details) would made a huge difference?
    My understanding is that, the D-Log M LUT is a "conversion" LUT and applying the lut at the beginning will ensures that you are correcting colors and making adjustments on footage that has already been converted to the standard rec.709 color space, which will give you more accurate and predictable results. Do you still stand by your node sequence of 1Edits, 2Hdr, 3Detail, 4Luts? Does it matter?

    • @AndreMorganPhotography
      @AndreMorganPhotography  4 месяца назад

      Yes, the LUT is always at the end, because if you put it at the beginning, you will be messing with the LUT and its characteristics

    Great video! But, should you add the lut to the first node and edit from that rec.709 that you get? 🤔

    • @AndreMorganPhotography
      @AndreMorganPhotography  29 дней назад

      No add it close to the end so you don’t change the character of the Lut

    • @dani__lomas6072
      @dani__lomas6072 28 дней назад

      @ yeah, but the thing is that the lut is a tool to make easier the following editing when you already have a not that desaturated and plain color, right?

    • @AndreMorganPhotography
      @AndreMorganPhotography  28 дней назад

      @dani__lomas6072 it’s all depends on the Lut, what Lut are you using?

    • @dani__lomas6072
      @dani__lomas6072 28 дней назад

      @ i am talking about the lut that you use in the video, the one to go from the log format from osmo pocket to rec :)

    • @AndreMorganPhotography
      @AndreMorganPhotography  28 дней назад

      @dani__lomas6072 oh ok gotcha, so when you use the Lut, are you saying it desaturate your video? I’m just trying to understand what happening fully

    Do you have to do a color space transform on d-log footage like you have to for like a c-log 3 or s-log? Thanks for the video!

  • @ThomasMatthewEvans

    Hi Andre...as you are using the Studio version you may not be aware but the free version doesn't support D-Log M 10 bit. It will function but the clours will be incorrect with some image artifacts. Giving you a heads up as you may get comments and head scratching from viewers using the free version.

    Hello, I'm getting my NEW osmo pocket 3 tomorrow, and I am so super excited and anxious. I am embarrassed to say that I am NOT tech savvy at all. I just watched this video, and it's helping me learn tremendously already. Hearing all this lingo like LUTS, DLOG, COLOR GRADING etc, is like another language to me 🤦🏻‍♀️. Can you please, please 🙏 do another video for TRUE beginners as myself, need help on color editing and helpful tips about the osmo pocket 3 camera, I need all the help I can get and TBH, this is so intimidating for me, hate to say it. I got the osmo pocket 3 camera for me and my husbands upcoming dream vacation to the Caribbean and I'm determined to capture all the beautiful and special memories with this awesome camera. I want to make certain all the beautiful blue colors of the sky, the soft powdery white sandy beaches and of course the blue turquoise waters are all captured like a pro. Please help me, 😅 Thanks so much 😫🤗🥰!!

      😅 I will definitely have fun with it, I just want to make a few nice awesome videos when we are in St Lucia. I notice some videos have such smooth, vibrant luscious colors and overall nice content, that's where I'm trying to get 👍 👌

    As I'm just learning DaVinci Resolve, I haven't bought the Studio version yet. When I try loading clips from the pocket 3, it's just black. I wonder if I need the Studio version with all the extra codacs to support the pocket 3?

    • @AndreMorganPhotography
      @AndreMorganPhotography  2 месяца назад +1

      That is very weird. It shouldn’t matter whether you have the student version of this free version. The file should be able to be viewed. It’s just that there’s certain features for editing that might not be available in the free version that is available in the studio version.

      That’s possible, but I think you should try to do another recording on your OP3 and upload again to the computer and test it again, close and reopen DaVinci Resolve with the new file

      @@AndreMorganPhotography Having done some more research I've found out that the Linux version has extremely limited codec support. The Studio version is much better in this regard, but even then lacks aac support.
