Please keep these vintage machines keep running. Some viewers will have memories .
Good to see that these pinball machines you survive. Because they have memories. Thankyou
I had a TV Repair Shop in Bristol, Pa. from 1976 to 2003 and during a slow period in the early 90's I hunted down and purchased around 10 used pinball machines. I wish I would have taken pictures and made a list of all the machines, but I didn't. I can only remember the names of 4 machines at the moment. Jungle Lord, Black Hole, Farfalla and Xenon are the names I remember. I had no access to schematics at the time, but most parts were available. My nephew and I had a blast cleaning and fixing the machines. We ended up selling all the machines to Todd Tuckey @ TNT Amusements in Southampton, Pa. a couple years later. I forgot to mention that I have an autographed copy of Pinball - The Lure of the Silver Ball written by Gary Flower & Bill Kurtz. It was signed by Bill Kurtz. I will have to thumb through the pages and see if there are any other of my machines listed.
As far as I know, the people in the backglass are Roger Daltry (from The Who) and Ann Margaret. I think this is a stellar looking game. There’s lots for you to fix up on it Ronnie. Good luck on the mission.
One thing definitely useful in the solid state machines...testing modes, so you can more easily find any burnt out bulbs, busted relays, and the like. Certainly helps, once you get past the initial 'It's broke!' stage.
I’ve played hundreds of pins and just haven’t played this one… looks awesome.
One of my fav machines. Thank you for sharing this with us Ron.
I remember when that machine came out. Played on the boardwalk in Asbury Park, NJ. Great memories. Thanks Ron. You and Joe enjoy the Holiday!
You rescue stray pinball machines. Thankyou
Great video as usual! So many components in this bad boy!
Oh man, I never noticed that 'snake belt' in all these years. Unreal!
Another beauty EM, enjoyed this episode!
I always enjoy your tutorials! You explain things well and I love your pointing out of those details in the BG/PF artwork. I have a Bally Wizard and missed seeing some of those details. Look forward to the next video!
great Video love that old machine !
This game was my first pinball restoration project!
The boy is clearly Roger Daltrey, singer of The Who.
I happen to own 2 of these. Fond memories playing it in the back of a pizza place as a kid.
I had a wizard on lock for 600.
This was in late 90s,
,i was a handyman, did lot of work for a family, one plumbing job while in basement I found a nice wizard & a monte Carlo.
Worked awhile for them stacking towards sale, final say was a son away in military who wanted machine.
I was gracious, but heartbroken, almost.
I have the same machine here in my flat, waiting for me to repair it for a much too long time. Maybe your video gives me the needed kick doing it ;)
BTW:
Elton John plays Tommy's opponemt in a pinball competion, who loses his "pinball crown" to Tommy. Tommy is played by the Who's Roger Daltrey...
I can never decide which machine I love more: “Wizard” or “Captain Fantastic”… I always thought one of the coolest things in the film was Elton’s piano keyboard apron on the machine he’s playing against Tommy. And those Dr. Martens! Just huge! Always thought a woolly winter hat with a plastic “pinball” on it like Elton’s would be a good merch. seller Ronnie/Joe. Thanks for sharing Ronnie. Regards
I prefer the Data East "Tommy" to the electro-mechanicals with this theme, but this one looks interesting.
Next video will be great, starring EM debugging with your cute notepad. Thqnks for sharing!
Nothing wrong with the phrase "memento mori"...it means "memory of death" and it usually refers to an object used as a memento for a person who has passed.
i cant believe im seeing what im seeing the shoot again light on on power up im laughin hysterically.i just fixed mine wiring issue main harness in the back of the box 2 yellow wires general illumination.the playfield on that machine is in excellent condition like the videos
AWESOME MY FAVORITE.❤️
🔥
Awesome
Good artist
Needs more relays. 🤣
This is definitely a game I played in my yute (as well as Captain Fantastic). It looks like you have your work cut out for you on this one. I can't wait to see what surprises it has in store for you.
Good morning Ron !!!! How u doing?? Checking back in to see if u got a chance to look at my problem with HI, WHATS UP?? the pins resetting after u throw the first puck almost half the time can u give me a hand at getting this old machine going.
Thank u so much.
lovely machine and that big old transformer what's the wattage on that thing ? :)
Ronnie, I really enjoy your videos. The playfield, back glass and cabinet should all be a determining factor of the overall condition of the machine. Does the game counter offer any indication on what the overall condition? The last machine I bought had 27500 on the counter and it was ready for the dump.
I agree it's basically a useless number. 10k plays in a bus station is much different than 100k plays in a country club where the machine is regularly serviced.... I would say the playfield is the most important factor because it's the hardest to replace. As you know we often touch them up!
Not much room left for anything more! Maximum EM, maximum cool! 😎
There was also a version of "Pinball Wizard" performed by Elton John.
And the girl with the ankle chain is Ann Margaret.
That is Roger Dahltry of the Who, not Elton John. 😅
Her ring is Medusa
I rolled this at a 7-11 as soon as they put it in,yes back then.
Hi Ron how u doing? I have a Chicago coin shuffle bowler it has 2 problems . first it resets the pins after the first puck is thrown and it does it almost every time. 2 problem is the first and 5 pins go back up after pins reset. 👍👍👍😎☕
Got most anyway.
Roger Daltry?
Ummm,those are extras...lol
I just follow you .
What is considered an "Italian bottom" for pinball games playfield? Any reasons why they call the fuse holders "breakaway", breakaway meaning what?
29:47
@@endothermron says it's a one piece thing but the breakaway fuse holder is soldered so I'm not sure what is considered "breakaway"?
@@waynegram8907 There will be a bunch of fuse-holders, side by side. You break off one or how ever many you need. Like a Kit Kat.
@@endotherm I thought you were able to breakaway the ( fuseholder + bad fuse = One piece ) at the same time like its Modular even if its soldered. The Solder tabs will stay screwed down but the fuseholder and bad fuse are in one piece to be breakaway.
That machine has a Debil. What's next; Foosball?
I just rescue stray cats. Thankyou
Stange how it's called Bally Wizard and not Pinball Wizard, perhaps there was copyright issue?
It's broke.
