You hit on it! We've all been there. Asking someone to stay or wanting to stay. 'You can never really tell." Thanks for this. David was very into funk at this stage and it soooo suited him. He was so good at it. This and Young Americans. Fine albums. Unfortunately he was on a coke and milk diet so didn't recall much of it. Incidental! His work was immaculate!
I was lucky to see this concert in Detroit in 1976. That was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. Check out "Right" from the Young American album! Funk and soul.
Bowie had a few bands that stayed with him for a few years - recording and live. There are some live recordings of “Stay” from 1976-‘80, which get very “epic” as the band and Bowie extended and grooved on stage. 😎🎸
DAMN You are right on point. People have been sleeping on Bowie on these reaction videos. I'm glad that you're digging into Station to Station . Maybe you'll do Diamond Dogs next. Happy Christmas
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for doing the ONE Bowie Song I always request on Reaction Channels and NO ONE EVER Does!! Uderrated Bowie Banger :-D The Live performance on the Dinah Shore Show (on youtube) is Pure Gold. His dance moves are Beyond!
I love that you see the man ....im 61 and first found him at 13 ...the love of my life.. there is so so much you would love .. hunky dory album fill your heart.... man who sold the world album ..black country rock and running gun blues... young americans album ..fasination and right.. and the album that helped me heal from his passing..LOW album.. yes im a (bowie freak) true love lasts a life time...im so glad you SEE him xx
Omg, I guess this is the correct thing to say on here, but as a 61-year-old who has been basically a lifetime Bowie fan.Iv listened to this amongst others ,after a big night out ,in bed with my ear phones on.,blasting it and just emursed myself in all the incredible sounds that are Bowie .
This song is one of those from Bowie who made me think that the guy was much much more than Let's Dance or China Girl, which were his biggest hits when I was a teen. I really appreciate that you're exploring the deep tracks and not the obvious hits : best way imo to discover the richness and diversity of Bowie's influences and references. If you're willing to explore more facets of him, you can try "African night flight" (1979), "Little wonder" (1997), "Aladdin Sane" (1973), "Red Sails" (1979), "The motel" (1995), "Bring me the disco king" (1999) and of course "Blackstar", from his last album in 2016.
Or Night Flights and You've Been Around (both from Black Tie/White Noise), or The Pretty Things are Going to Hell (from Hours), or Right and Somebody Up There Likes Me (both from Young Americans). All different twists to a musician who astounds at every turn.
I first listened to the full "Station To Station" album when it was remastered/reissued in 1999 by Virgin along with all his albums up to that time. I really only knew "Golden Years" from that album, but I was blown away by this track, and the album itself quickly became my favorite by Bowie. The first time I listened to the track, it gave me strong Prince vibes, my other favorite solo artist. In my head to this day, I can imagine Prince performing this track on stage and KILLING it. Wouldn't that be amazing?
If you want to feel the full impact of this song, listen to it while driving fast on a road or highway with little traffic. And listen to it LOUD. Just watch your speed, because you’ll be doing 100 mph before you realize it.
Playing Great songs from Bowie ( Criminal World, Always crashing in the same car, Stay,..) and not only the obvious Big Hits that everybody Plays ( Lets dance, Héroes, Space Oddity, Modern LOVE, Fame, etc....).......Great.......Bowie has an incredíble catalogue of Great and Legendary songs that only 2 o 3 Names in the Music History can attempt to match
Actually my favourite track from my favourite Bowie album.
A pleasure to watch your reaction to this hard funkpop from Master BOWIE. Your enthusiasm is refreshing and your comments insightful.
Disco never rocked so hard
It's a fantastic song that went under the radar for too many people.
'Blue-eyed Soul' at its BEST !!
Bowie NEVER disappoints !!

Olympia/Detroit carlos alamar played intro. Almost 50 years ago.
The Percussion blend on this with Drums and Bongos is exceptional. Another uniquely "Bowie" tune and reaction.

In my opinion this is David's best album. Every track on it was a hit on the radio. The title track STATION TO STATION is epic.

stay , Always crashing in the same car, panic in détroit, migliore di bowie
Love it! Such a great album!!!
Thanks!
unofficial birth of white funk - from A Certain Ratio's Shack Up to PULP's Party Hard. All worth a glance. "Cause you can never really tell..."
Great reaction. I would suggest ''Im Deranged'' from David Bowie, or ''No Control''. 😀
Did you want that to ever end?
I heard this with headphones / wicked
That's the song I would like to hear from a girl to me 😂😂
