Thanks for this man. I have Stage, the live album from this tour, but this performance is just so strong and they all seem to be totally in sync and just having a good time The rhythm section is probably the best he ever had (that bass line just drives the song, which is why I thought of you). But mostly it's David's vocal performance here that I love the most. Compared to the 76 tour, he is so healthy and his voice is perfect. Miss the man so much!
I saw Belew with the Bears in the late 80s. Great band. They were having fun up there. Adrian adds his special touch. Zappa was so pissed off when Bowie 'stole' him. He played with Talking Heads after Bowie and King Crimson after that. The Bears were a clever and unique pop group of musicians Adrian worked with back in the 70s in Ohio. You should check them out.
First time I became aware of Belew was seeing him with Frank Zappa, he always had such a strong sense of groove while being so interesting and exploring his soundscape, as he did here with Bowie, this tune had an awesome groove!
Bowie is great, of course, but Adrian Belew always makes an impact with who ever he’s playing with. Just an incredible talent and solid dude. Easily one of the most down to earth, accessible, and approachable rock stars I’ve met and talked to. What a great performance!
Yeah, Dennis Davis and George Murray were easily DB's best rhythm section ever. And this '78 lineup with Belew, Simon House and Roger Powell really expanded the electronic soundscape to get the most out of the Berlin albums.
So great watching someone who can wrap their heads around Bowie & his beautiful creative oddities❤
This song is marvellous.
Adrian Belew is so awesome. He is so nice. Ive seen him many times. With Bowie, laurie anderson, king crimson and the bears. Always memorable
Adrian plays aswell Frank Zappa too He’s a Master wow🎸🎸🎸
Bowie looks so happy here.

I've lost both my parents, and Bowie is also beyond now

This rhythm section defined Bowie's greatest albums.
Blackstar is another great album, and it's very poinient to anyone who's lost someone, or someone who's expecting their own passing on.

It's Belew that makes this work.
Adrian B plays aswell with Frank ZAPPA too His is a Master’s on Gitar
Great song. Great performance. My only complaint is that Adrian's guitar could have been louder.
