Great review! Always appreciate it when reviewers share their "real world" experience in a review. Very helpful and nice wallpaper!
My husband gifted me this laptop for Christmas. I believe the 2022 version! I saw it in person at Best Buy and loved how sleek it looked. I will be using it for school and can’t wait.
This is just what I needed. Thanks so much!
You're very welcome!!
Most helpful review I've seen of this laptop, thanks!
Thank you!!
Honest and nice review ❤
Nice long term review! This was helpful, I’m always concerned buying a new laptop. Worried about battery life and the overall speed slowing down. Seems like this one holds up well
I’ve been very happy with it! thanks
I do have an Lenovo 7i 15.6" (2023).deo. I do think Lenovo makes the best computer that I've had. Great video.
Thanks so much Stan!👍
Anytime!
That 2x2 cube in the background makes this video better
excellent review
Thank you so much!!
Thanks brother was lookig at this model
No problem 👍
Hey Stan 🤔 I’m thinking about an oh the go studio nothing to grand gonna run reasons on it whatcha think?
My screen doesn't turn on been about 2 weeks since I got the laptop. Yoga display pops up then screen shuts down, how do you reset this laptop?
Hey man. I recently got the Lenovo 7i and your videos were one of the inspirations. I'm wondering how is your Yoga 7i holding up? It's only now that I see reviews on the hinges of the Yoga series breaking which is causing me some concern
Hey sorry to be late to respond. I currently don't have my 7i anymore just from some changes that has happened in life. I do plan on grabbing me the new 9i 2022 model, but before I got rid of my previous one, the hinges were perfect. Feedback from others who I know have had. The product were still really good so Lenovo does pretty well with their hinges. It's been a long time since they've had any issues so in the long term view you should be really good.
@@EverydayTechSJB That's alright. And it's also good to hear you didn't have any problems with the hinges. How long did you have the 7i for?
Hey, very helpful review. Just one question, is the hinge issure quite common and should i buy.or not?
No not really, all the Lenovo's I've used had pretty good hinges
hi, i'm wondering which pen you are using with this? i just purchased it last week and am using the bamboo ink pen and am not having a great experience... wondering if purchasing a lenovo brand pen might help.
It's the Lenovo active pen, yea give it a try see if it improves the experience for you! Here's a link www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/accessories-and-software/stylus-pens-and-supplies/stylus-pens-&-supplies_pens/gx80n07825?cid=us:sem|se|google|gs_smart+shopping_1po|gs_accessories||GX80N07825|12879957833|122331432235|pla-1651551717813|shopping|brand&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4uaUBhC8ARIsANUuDjU27xpiGhi2HeqDDyvS4VKlu4G_934h5pB4iJLQYXEgv8LlL1Q7T74aAu32EALw_wcB
Hi! I’m a middle school student that wants a laptop mainly for productivity and a bit of Roblox with my siblings here and there. I’m considering buying the Yoga 7i and use a stylus for it but it comes out kind of expensive. Do you think I should buy a Chromebook instead or are Chromebooks not worth it? Most of my work is Chrome based but the bezels on most Chromebooks aren’t ideal since I look to take notes on whatever laptop I get. I think I would really enjoy each machine but I would love your take on it. Thanks!
Man for a middle school student you're Grammer and English is impressive, you're making me look bad😂 but regardless no, I won't say Chromebooks are not worth it, Play You're very good and very affordable and you can get some really good ones like the Lenovo duet 5 or the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook, have great power. Great screens. Great battery and they should be able to play the Android version of Roblox, but I still think Windows is a bit more versatile and we'll have the more robust version of Roblox That's all going to depend on your budget though, or as the Chromebooks will definitely save you money and get you a great experience
@@EverydayTechSJB Thanks for the response! Big help.
I am watching this video because of how unhappy I am with my chromebook. My chromebook does not work with my vpn. I cannot edit docs created on other platforms. So do your research, it depends on what you are using it for. Make sure a chromebook will work for what you need it for.
Chromebooks are trash, Google ends service and updates for them after 5 years
@@EverydayTechSJBI laughed so much reading this 😂 thank you and great content. Subscribed 🙏🙏
which will be the better laptop to buy for display and sound quality . - Lenovo Yoga 7i or Samsung Book 2 360 ?
If I'm not mistaken, the Samsung book 2 360 has an OLED screen so that may be the better option if you're looking for general screen quality
found your video very informative, can you tell me how does it perform with multiple monitor?
Shouldn't have any problem with multiple monitors especially being USB-C, in my usage, I was able to connect a separate monitors with no problem. Now you won't get like three or four monitors connected, but I don't see one or two being an issue at all
Hey! Could I ask your opinion on laptop purchasing? I’m a student going into high school and I am looking for a computer that will last me all the way through high school being able to take it to school, work in classrooms with windows, and be able to take it home and play some games (realistically mostly minecraft) at home after (on battery power of course). I’m between this for $699 with 8GB of ram and an acer swift x for $880 with 16GB of ram. Which one would be a better buy? I’m just looking for a laptop with battery life to last the whole day, decent performance in games, last through high school, 13/14 inch, good ports, and durable/nice to the touch/sight.
Depending on the rest of the specs it seems like the acre swift x would be a more powerful device, I can’t comment on the battery life though, both would be great for school most likely..what is the full specs of the acre swift?
@@EverydayTechSJB thank you for responding so quickly! So here are the specs:
Acer Swift X:
$879.99
AMD 5800U
RTX 3050 Ti
16 GB RAM
512 GB SSD
Officially Certified Refurbished from Acer
Lenovo Yoga 7i:
$699
i5-1135G7
Iris Xe
12 GB / 8 GB RAM (two options but I can only find 8 GB in my chosen color at a reasonable price + soldered memory)
512 GB SSD
Sold New From Best Buy
If there are any other laptops that come to mind for what I’m looking at then be sure to let me know. Thanks!
@@pyrobear8608 anytime man always happen to answer. Yeah, from the specs alone the Acer Swift x is a more capable device. The president has a graphics coordinator means the battery life will not be as good, most likely as it seems a little more designed for gaming, 3050 TI will
@@pyrobear8608 the yoga while it won't be as powerful will still be very capable of let's say Fortnite or Minecraft, but better suited for longevity and portability
@@EverydayTechSJB alright great thank you!! that’s the one I was leaning to especially because $300 less will be much easier to convince my parents to buy😂
Hi, can I ask advice? I have recently retired. I need a PC to help with my job search. I need to be able to write coverletters and edit my resume. I have a few unfinished manuscripts which I would like to finish. I started them on a windows pc using either word or office. I have had bad luck converting to google docs and still being able to edit. I may be doing some consulting with my old job and need to be able to connect using a vpn. My current Chromebook is not compatible. They also had compatability issues with mac products. Thanks
I think the yoga will be great, honestly most Windows laptops will as long as they are around an i5-ryzen 5/8gb RAM configuration, one of the advantages of windows devices is we know they are compatible with almost all of our programs
If I buy one now, do you think it’ll be good for about 4-5 years? Or should I go for a newer laptop if so which one? Any good 2 in 1?
I think the putting on the usage it will definitely last you 4 or 5 years, unless you find yourself doing more intensive work on your laptop but the quality of this thing is built to last
The touchscreen is a lot better than on the surface laptop
Did the speakers or any of the hot keys give out? Does it have Bluetooth? I'm looking to buy the 16" directly from Lenovo. Terrific review. You are clear and concise and I enjoyed that lighthearted diss of Apple fanboys. Thank you! --Julia B.
No speaker issues or hot keys gave out! The 16" is fantastic! And yes it has Bluetooth! Thank you so much!!
@@EverydayTechSJB Thank you for responding! I ordered one from Lenovo directly yesterday, BASED ON YOUR REVIEW. --Julia
Is there an integrated number pad feature? If so, how do I enable it?
Yes there's it's on by default when folded into tablet mode
i will be attending college and majoring in business in the coming weeks. would this be a good recommendation for handling my classes
Oh yes with no problem
How are the hinges? I heard that there was a lot of problems with the hinges.
Hinges have been fine, a few early models of the Yoga series had issues but that's to be expected as Lenovo was one of, if not THE first to jump into the foldable 2-in-1 laptops
But these models have extensive testing and for me haven't showed any sign of wear or tear
Would you recommend this for a software engineering student who is also.am Interior designer
Probably not, I love this computer but I'd recommend something with probably more RAM or a higher end chipset, the new models of the Yoga 7i have some great options as well as Macbook Airs for a decent price to performance ratio
Would it be bad if I have it plugged in all the time? I have the 16inch version. I have looked around and couldn’t find a battery protection setting where it stops charge at 85%. I do have conservation and battery saver mode on though I think they’re called. Just got the laptop yesterday.
Yea it's a lot of strain on the battery, I always recommend letting your devices charge and discharge in the desired fashion, charging overnight occasionally isn't too bad but plugged in all the time isn't the best move
@@EverydayTechSJB thank you so much for the fast reply and information! I’m really nervous when it comes to my tech and always want the best methods ensure great battery health. Will take it off the charger right now. And only charge when it reaches 20% thank you my friend.
@@EverydayTechSJB I had one more question please bro. I’m looking in the Lenovo vantage app and I don’t see “charging threshold” so I can stop charging at 80%. Is the only option the conservation mode? It’s the only one I see. Thank you again in advance.
The M1 with decent specs and not the basic ones is huge difference in price range and if you get the M1 basic expect throttling. And their boards are not reliable it can die for nothing and its for the binn cause it fried its nand. So yess no Apple for me ever again. Lenova is the best laptop for me. Working laptop i use the thinkpad and artistic with videoediting the yoga. My pc for 3d rendering and more complex video edits :)
I’m planning to buy a new laptop, So which is better? Yoga 7 or Yoga 6?.
So in general the yoga 7i with outperform the yoga 6,
And right now the 2022 models are available , But that all depends on your usage and your needs. I can't make that answer for you. All I know is the 2022 models of the Yoga 6th and yoga 7 are both on sale at Best Buy currently. Don't know how long it's going to last. It may be over by tomorrow
Where can i get that attachment that holds the pen?
what's the name of that grip?
Man I honestly cannot remember, I believe I got it on Lenovo's website but it doesn't seem to be available anymore
This is a really great video, Stan! Can I ask your input:
this - Yoga 7i 14" 12GB RAM Intel i5
Yoga 6 13" 16GB RAM Ryzen 7
both with 512GB SSD
everyday laptop, use all the time, portability, battery and durability important, light python programming and very light photoshop hobbyist occasionally. I think it comes down to the processor, bc the 6 is my preference wrt everything else.
PS coming from Yoga 720 14", love of my life
So while I ultimately like the look and size of the yoga 7 14-in more I got to say currently there's a crazy promotion on the yoga. 6. With the Ryzen 7 16 gigs of RAM and half a terabyte of storage. So if you get it as soon as possible, you can save a lot of money and get insane performance. So I have to go with the yoga six with the rise of 7 at the moment as it's a better value currently. But it won't be that way for long
@@EverydayTechSJB TYSM for your reply! When I checked yesterday, the 7i was on sale for 749 and the 6 was on sale for 649, so they were close. But today it's changed to 949 and 599, respectively. I'm sure the 7i will go on sale again, but I ended up purchasing the 6!! The main thing I was concerned about was AMD chip. Several years ago Intel was universally favored but it seems that Ryzen has changed that. So far I love the 6! Doesn't feel as premium as my old 720/7i, but performance and price are great. Thank you SO much for your input, it helped a lot!
Anytime!! And don't worry about that AMD chip, AMD has been liking it recently and making some great processors and GPUS! I have an AMD desktop and it's fantastic!
@@notimportant123Hey, if you're willing to let me know, how do you think the Yoga 6 compares to the Yoga 7i series? And how has your laptop held up? I'm making the same purchase decision this year!
oooooo! I can't decide between a thinkpad or a Yoga.
Really depends what's more important to you! ThinkPads generally have a more versatile port selection as well as more durable build! Yogas are more packing power into a small light frame...you can kill two birds with one stone and get a Thinkpad yoga! Lol
Currently on sale for $550. That's a good deal yeah? I am need of a new laptop as my current laptop is 5 yrs old. Great review btw 👍
Where's the sale?
@@sugheilc long gone now. Was at Best Buy.
Any thoughts on the ryzen 7 version of this?
So I never got my hands on the Ryzen 7 models but my personal computer runs the rise in 7 and it's a fantastic processor. Great battery efficiency and power
@@EverydayTechSJB Awesome, thank you! I might pick it up. Would you expect the fan to be silent when just browsing/watching youtube?
Would you say the yoga 7i 12gb 11gen or flex 5i 13 gem both i7 processor
I really need to take a look at the newest flex, but honestly I usually gravitate more towards yoga as they generally get a slight spec bump including usually a higher clock i7 processor. Then we will be on a flex but to give a 100% good answer, I had to take a peek at both of them and all their internals and compare it that way
@@EverydayTechSJB thank you
Would this be a good laptop for college students?
It absolutely would! The fast charging and battery life and power and efficiency are great reasons this and it's 2022 version are great for college
Where did you get that pen holder?
Honestly I forget, lol I think it came with my pen
what pen do you recommend with this laptop??
You can go with Lenovo's pen from their website but I like the bamboo pen I forget the exact name but it's from Wacom and it's pretty nice!
@@EverydayTechSJB ok its cuz I use the bamboo 2nd gen pen rn and it keeps disconnecting. For anyone looking at this at a later time I recommend the digital pen 2
Yoga 7i 16" vs HP envy 15 ?
From my knowledge both are really great options. Very close to each other but I currently don't have the latest yoga and don't know when I'll be able to get my hands on one to do a proper comparison
What kind of pen do you use????
Sorry I'm so late! I use the Lenovo pen, I've also used wacoms pen and it worked just as well!!
lol.. that "shut up".. nice vid bro
😂😂 thanks!!
What is a high-refresh rate? (Sorry. Old broad here.)
So I refresh rate means that the screen refreshes much more than in the other one providing a much smoother and aesthetically pleasing experience,it makes I'm the whole device feel faster
@@EverydayTechSJB Thank you again!!!
There’s a new yoga 7i that came out, is it worth the extra money, they have it now at $879
Yeah I really like the new ones. The screens are better from the yoga 7 and up. They are 16x10 aspect ratio 2.2 k resolution, they have way more ports or much more versatile products, 1080p cameras and they have a new design which is more comfortable, 12th gen ship DDR5 RAM.
It's definitely a solid upgrade and I'm hoping I can get my hands on one to review soon
Can I play Sims on it??
It shouldn't have any issues since Sims is fairly lightweight
show the laptop more than you please!
You are not paying for a top-of-the-line laptop. This laptop works fine for me.
Can you play decent games on these?
So the yoga's aren't made quite for gaming but games like Fortnite and Apex Legends, You can play Maybe even valorant but nothing at a higher level. Let's say call of duty or Witcher 3 or games that require heavy duty processing. Won't run on these
@@EverydayTechSJB The Witcher 3 runs perfectly on my 16Gb/i7-1165G7 Yoga 7i. Nearly all options set to max... under Archlinux (Swaywm) + Wine !
Had to edit lol voice to text completely ruined that sentence 😂
it is not worth it the touch screen doesnt work anymore in alot of laptops
I haven't had an issue in any of my touchscreen computers
Are you a friend of EDP😂
Constructive feedback. It would be best if you focus on the laptop and not yourself. As this is a review about the laptop.
Yes it is…
ay nigga, good review
