    I wanna still be a jarhead because I wanna make a difference and travel yes but I also want to kill bad guys and I want to kick down doors and I want to make my dad and my other family proud as well and I wanna just do well in the Marines and I will work hard until I die out of breath and I want to be a good Marine and I want to fight for my country

    @defelix2432 hell yes. my recruiter is from south korea and a Marines Grunt! He's currently training my fatass for basic training next year (going in at 18 yrs old, UAV Operator), and i come from Bangladesh (Indian region of the world). it is a rare event, but you yourself have to come to realize whats more important, the title of a degree n $80K+ debt, or experience as a Marine with possibly a Top Security Clearance (gets you any job in the gov't too once you leave), free college, and honor.

    The royal marine commandos over here in the UK do 32 weeks of basic training before moving on to the specialization training bud, think they are around the equivalent to your navy seals, no women can join the royal marines either. What would you recommend for someone that's joining up, the navy or marines? I've passed the psychometric tests for entry so far, just need to hand in the papers before choosing for definite what role I want to put in for.

    @kingjones3000 the pros will be once youre done with college you get to go into OCS and become an officer if you have what it takes, plus the reserves will pay for your college and pay you for once a month drills on the weekends. go find a recruiter and talk to him about it, you would be surprised how much he could help you. honestly you can go into college anytime you want to, why not go ahead and enlist after highschool?

  • @breakdembitches
    @breakdembitches 11 лет назад

    Because I've applied and have been looking into any info on marines and navy in general. Our army has a longer basic training course at 26 weeks, twice as long as US marines, it don't mean that they are any better though, it just sucks that our courses are much longer. If you were to sign up as a RECON marine or go warfare in the navy what would you choose then?

    Your age cap is 35??? It's 25 here for us in Ireland :(. That means I've only three years left to try and get into the PDF. I'm an RDF recruit right now but at least it's better than nothing. Can't see myself doing any other career. Best of luck to any and all who are serving or have served with the Marines. You have friends here. Slán leat. :)

    You failed to answer my question as well and you brought up an entirely new subject. The actions of a government and the actions of an individual military man are completely different. My answer is that your question does not pertain to the discussion. Should an entire nation be invaded over this? Perhaps not, but I don't see what point you are trying to make since my position was never that Iraq should have been invaded in the first place. Apples and oranges, kid.

  • @Someguy1103
    @Someguy1103 11 лет назад

    It's not a matter of punishing the US, it's a matter of punishing the indivuduals that behave badly. In most cases, if a person is caught behaving badly in public, that person is punished. For example, I'm in the military, and if I were to go out at a bar and slap a woman's ass, not only would I possibly be in for a bar fight, I would likely face implications from military law and local law. Do you think the UCMJ isn't strict or something?

  • @Someguy1103
    @Someguy1103 11 лет назад

    Being a Marine isn't as hard or as intense as you might thing. If you're not prone to being a crybaby and you're in good enough shape to run indefinitely for about an hour or so, you'll be fine. The problem is you'll be treated like an 18 year old for your first enlistment. You'll have Sergeants being all like "What? You bought a car without telling ME! YOU CAN'T SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON WHATEVER YOU WANT!!!" It's not all bad though. I just don't like the lifestyle.

  • @ImperatorAvgvstvs
    @ImperatorAvgvstvs 12 лет назад

    Britain also used their military to protect their trade interests around the world from the latter part of the 19th century until WWII. Their empire didn't last, nor will ours. Not only that, but there's no constitutional authority for such bases. If you don't care for the immigration argument, how about our infrastructure? We're building roads and bridges in other countries while ours fall apart. I'll take your .9 trillion as fact but that's still too much, given our deficit. Also, it's affect.

  • @NIGHTEHAWK

    @mandingocaribe oh really..? So sense you where in the army, you totally know about the sacrifices? what where you a paper pusher? did you even fight? You sir, are wrong, but also correct. 1) no, you don't have to be a jar Head to be a man. 2) Those marines, sailors, airmen, and the few army men over there are dying for YOU, so YOU can sit here and watch this video, so you can work and support your family. I rest my case. -.-

  • @MrWesjj2
    @MrWesjj2 13 лет назад

    @chevygearhead454 Funny thing is is that half of the people who claim there gonna be a certain MOS will never do it. They may tell you that you will, but you wont. I cant stand when civilians get on here and scream that they are future scout snipers. You wont make it, just like the other 95%. Do the training, and then the talking. Until then, stop telling everyone how your some bad ass marine when your not.

  • @Someguy1103
    @Someguy1103 11 лет назад

    Well... it's a bit of both. You have to pass the IST. run a mile and a half, do three pullups and do a certain number of situps. That's the bare minimum. If you can do better than that, you're more likely to get in. I'd join the army though... I hear they sometimes get a 40 THOUSAND dollar enlistment bonus. Marines get no enlistment bonus at all.

  • @Someguy1103
    @Someguy1103 11 лет назад

    That's typoical of mostly every nation's military. The only way to fix it is to have overly harsh punishments for people who act out of line. Think about it... 18-21 year old kids out of high school and probably drunk constatly. That's just how kids are, and people drink more in the military because there are no women around to nail.

  • @Marine5484
    @Marine5484 12 лет назад

    They use what is call sim rounds. You change out the upper receiver to the M-16 so it can shoot 9mm rounds with paint tips. They hurt a hell of a lot more then regular paintball rounds. I was hit in the face by one (went through the mask) and split my nose. Learned a lesson that day...never poke you head in a window lol.

    @mandingocaribe "this is about oil." Tell that to the hundreds of innocent people who died on September 11th, 2001. Go to the memorial of every soldier, and tell them what they did was not needed, that they didn't die for you. walk up to an injured marine, who lost his arm, leg, eye, and tell him, What he did was not for you.

    @prGRMY12 : Went to PI in Jan 82. The recruit that slept in the rack above me was previously in the Navy. Another recruit across from me had previously served in the Army. Of course this was nearly 30 yrs ago, & a lot has changed since then, ... but hey, you may want to start contacting a USMC recruiter now to get the low down on switching. Maybe see if you can get a bonus?

    I fully understand the meaning of all the words in the question you are asking, but I don't know why you are asking it. Are you saying that because a few Marines behave badly in overseas countries when the Marines are off duty, said over-sea countries should be able to invade the US? Not at all.

    War definitely fixed the Nazi's, didn't it. War will happen one way or the other, weather its for our ideals or their iron age barbarism, your point is irrelevant, in the end, the result is the same, there is no escape from that.

  • @Someguy1103
    @Someguy1103 11 лет назад

    That's only true to an extent. A person has to be pretty damn fat or pretty damn skinny to not get in. Skinny to the point of being 110 pounds and 6 feet or something or being 6 feet and 270 pounds. The standard isn't that hard to meet.
