Remembering my dear mother. We played this at her funeral 7 years ago. She loved Enya and I remember the joy of coming home to the magic of Christmas holidays and the soundtrack of 'Paint the Sky with Stars' on the stereo. The essence of Enya's music felt inextricably linked with the magic of my mother. There's a sense of an infinite and eternal benevolence in her music that feels like the love a mother has for her children. I can feel that benevolent presence when I listen to Enya's music. I think thats why so many of us find it so profoundly healing. Remembering my dear mother was pure love. Remembering the good times. I love the relationship between the four girls as shown in this video, like they're shown to be really close siblings and the implication is that Enya (or the character she is playing) is a grown up version of one of them and is recalling childhood memories with her sisters as she's travelling home, it's really sweet. As someone who grew up as the youngest in a fairly large family, and had a close relationship to my siblings, it kind of resonates. Especially now that I live far from my childhood home but occasionally I get the opportunity to go back, in which case I feel like I'm 'on my way home'.
