Enya was born Eithne Ni Bhraonain in Donegal, Ireland. Enya studied classical music at college under private tuition. On leaving college she was asked by Producer Nicky Ryan to join her siblings in their family band. She did so for a short time, but found it too restrictive musically, and so in 1982 she joined Nicky Ryan and Roma Ryan in a creative and business partnership. Enya's first commission was to write a score for Sir David Puttnam for his film "The Frog Prince". Then, the triumvirate secured the soundtrack to the BBC documentary series 'The Celts'. Enya was then signed by Warner Music and all three by EMI Music Publishing. The first album of this contract was "Watermark" with the hit single "Orinoco Flow". This was followed by "Shepherd Moons", "The Memory of Trees", "Paint the Sky With Stars", "A Day Without Rain" which produced the single, "Only Time".

Há 23 anos eu procurava essa música, e hoje finalmente eu a encontrei. Foi no teatro do colégio estadual de Barbacena, em 1999 que eu a ouvi pela primeira vez durante uma apresentação do grupo ponto de partida, desde então eu vivia procurando essa linda canção que marcou aquele dia. The end when multiple Enyas descend the stairs is such a great nod to how her vocals are produced. Layered uncountable times to give us that angelic and ethereal feeling.

I first heard this song as a wee lad (I was 4 or 5 years old) I haven't heard it again, 11 years later I just got into college and my teacher played this song to set the mood when we're drawing, it was quiet and I thought that I've heard this song until it reached the chorus and I immediately "Sir! What's the title?!" I screamed real loud that the other class heard it XD

Last year, I was in the hospital for two months. I nearly died in the ICU. Late at night, when I was feelibg restless and in pain, I would play music by Enya, this song is one of my favorites and I'd drift to sleep. It's a year and three surgeries later later and still recovering from all of that, but I'm able to walk and eat and the hard part is over.
