My heart was beating so fast at the countdown of the last episode of season 5 I nearly had a panic attack 🤣🤣.... plus this season is the beginning of a new story
season 4 is the best of all that has come out so far. luca changaretta, Alfie solomons and tommy plotting against each other is the best that could possible have happened in peaky blinders.
This was my least favorite season, felt like I was left right in the middle of a season. Too much left unconcluded. 2, 4, 1, 3, 5 is the order I'd rank them.
Season 6 needs Michael to become the new Villain,he is a threat to Tommys ego and leadership, either he kills him or works with him but you can see in Michael's eyes he wants the throne, how they are going to manage two wars though will be tough, war against Michael and the fascist guy might be too much to handle.
Micheal is just being realistic. Tommy is doing too much. Michael wants to expand and make the company/family money without having to get grimey. Michael is thinking smart. He’s annoying but he’s not really wrong. He can do things tommy doesn’t have the time for.
@@freddy.st16 Yep, I bet Gina is a fascist and will persuade Michael into supporting the BUF or turn him into a national socialist. I watched this season weekly when it came out last month.. and this for me is the least "happening" season in terms of high threat coming for tommys head like 3rd and 4th season where something intense happened all the time. This season is a lot slow paced and Oswald mosely as villain isn't very intimidating.. maybe he'll be on next season. This is more like a build up season for the next one. I honestly didnt care for the billy boys. But my most favourite moment is with tommy n polly crashes in to the nuns and ofc the ending of episode 4. But this show has ruined it for me with great writing and intense build up n production that other shows or even movies look mediocre to me.
Season 4 is my favourite so far. Season 5 lacks the atmosphere for me. The camera work is cheesy, too many unnecessary visual effects, too many out-of-place slow mo's, the sounds and music play in scenes that would demand for silence, also the new choice of music seems to lack grit and gloominess. Season 5 score seems like Road Trip Blues to me. Personally, I find everything a tad too flashy and drunk somehow. In my opinion, aesthetically the earlier Seasons were way more mature and more fitting to the setting.
jo andrews Season 4 was easily the best. Season 3 behind it. I didn’t like season 5 at all, however I really liked the ending. It sets up for season 6 really well. Wasn’t a fan of season 2 also.
My favorite seasons from most to least: 4, 1, 2, 3. I can’t make a judgement on 5 because it would really depend on 6 as it’s not a complete story unlike 1-4.
I need to rewatch the other seasons because it seems it's been a while since season 4. Offhand I might say I liked season 1 the best but I probably need to rewatch them first to say for sure. I'm watching episode 1 of season 5 now and I'm loving it. It's a great show, fleshed-out extremely interesting characters, lots of family drama, lots of thrilling action and suspense. Great writing, cinematography, editing, and superb acting. And strong female characters.
The fwmale characters are least good. The writers dont know how to develop them further on. Either they kill them off or just fade them out. Ada n polly had pretty much nothing to do except popping up now and then. Polly just walked around except one small thing. And linda well... you'll see
Earlier this year “our planet” came out and I was like: no way they can do anything better-but mindhunter, this, unbelievable, etc. Proved me wrong! Netflix KILLING it with tv shows!
It has nothing to do with *Netflix.* Many many more *British* shows also have little or nothing to do with *Netflix* and the other 14+ *American* companies who constantly try to claim sole credit for *British* shows.
Bearing in mind that I think EVERY season is absolutely top-notch, regardless of my ranking: 1. Series 3 Even if it was often tricky to follow, this series was the absolute crème de la crème IMO. It put Tommy in such a dark place as he was being overwhelmed from so many angles while simultaneously having to deal with Grace's death, which made it all the more satisfying when he still managed to come out on top, even if it came at a cost for the Shelby family as a whole. Also, Tatiana made every one of her scenes feel like an acid trip and Father Hughes managed to establish himself as one of the most grotesque TV villains I've ever seen despite only having relatively little screentime. 2. Series 2 After the small scale of the first series, this is where the world-building really began and we were introduced to both Michael and the absolute wonder that is Alfie Solomons. Everything just felt like a bigger, better follow-up to Series 1, back when Tommy's biggest problems were finding love, fixing races and staving off the slimy Inspector Campbell - who to this day is still the show's best baddie. If the first series depicted the fall from grace of a "lawful neutral" character, here Campbell was really showing his true colours and had become a real nasty bastard, yet still remained likeable and even a little sympathetic. 3. Series 5 It may have very much been a "part one of two", but this series felt like it was taking the show in a whole new direction from where it started, and it really shone through. The Blinders were now big enough to be personally impacted by the Wall Street Crash, which not only meant they had to rely on some of their old tricks to stay ahead but also meant that Tommy had become big enough to start choosing his battles for himself. If there was one series that aimed to prove to us that Tommy's heart holds a glimmer of hope then it was this one, but we also saw his descent into madness become more apparent than ever - as well as seeing Arthur tap back into his unbridled inner beast. Oswald Mosley made for another brilliant villain too (even if historically-speaking he was a little misrepresented), and it'll be interesting to see how far Tommy's rising conflict with Michael goes in the next series. 4. Series 1 Where it all started, and an excellent introduction to the show's universe. There was a clear sense that these were men soon returned from the war, and the dynamics of the Shelby family and their operations were quickly made clear without the writers resorting to spoonfeeding; while the stakes were naturally a lot lower than they would be later on, the story was by no means simplistic and adeptly introduced us to Tommy's mastery of foresight and contingency-planning. As in the second series, we also got a great adversary in Inspector Campbell, who set a high bar for the show's "hero/villain" dynamic. 5. Series 4 Again I have to state that even as my least favourite series, it was still an absolute cracker, but I'd place it at the bottom purely due to the linearity of the story; while every other series felt like a complex game of chess, this one was more of a simple cat-and-mouse. That said, we got another great antagonist in the form of Luca Changretta; I know the character isn't universally loved on account of Brody's cheesy portrayal, but I couldn't help but love him as a Corleone homage, and he was also a unique baddie in that he WASN'T a complete bastard for once - more just a rival gangster with an understandable motive, one who played fair, and one who Tommy actually appeared to respect for once. This was also the most fractured we've ever seen the Shelby family after Tommy's sly game in the aftermath of the third series, and it began to plant the seeds early for the coming fallout in the sixth series.
That was a good review, nice seeing someone trying their best not to spoil anything. Season 5 took me a year to watch (while I had literally binge-watched the other4 in 4 days) so it felt a lot, it was a lot and this time interval made it even more impactful. One of my favorite, not to say my favorite show ever. Now the only question is how the fock am I gonna wait till 2022 for season 6!
Season 5 feels great primarily because they have all 6 episodes to a single director; personally the writing season 2 is the show at its best, but season 5 certainly feels the most consistent
This is one of the best seasons so far. The scope of things are getting way higher. I think this storyline is the most interesting so far. I just wish we had 10 eps, this was such a tease.
Imagine making a show like this. It's made like a movie for every episode. When people complain about it they're criticising stuff done better than virtually everything they've seen in a year.
Primal is coming up, and since both shows were created by Gennesy Tartakovsky, maybe you can slip in a small Smaurai Jack season 5 review (or at least a mention). After all, it's just about the views, am i right!
This guy is too star-struck to give an unbiased review. Season 5 sucked. SOOO many uncharacteristic things happened. Like the whole purpose of this season was to destroy the family unity. And the music was HORRIBLE. Like Tommy said near the end, "IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE."
It's hard to pick a favorite season it's got to be 2 probably. Season 5 so far is great and has me on edge just the way I like it. My top 3 tv shows of all time The sopranos, Peaky Blinders, and Game of thrones (I know people will hate me for that. My honorable mentions Breaking Bad, SOA, and Bloodline.
This season left me hangin, I wanted the city streets blazen. I wanted Mosley that weasel chopped up. I felt bad for the sniper. I came here looking for why it just ended. The cards werent put down on the table. The season unfinished In Peaky Blinders Style.
In my opinion, Arthur’s arc and development has made him, by far, my favourite character-so much so that any conflict involving him has the most suspense and emotional impact to me, especially after 4 seasons. It’s weird how much you want a flawed character to be “okay”. Tom Hardy was also amazing and it feels as if without him in it, even for just a little longer, would be a missed opportunity.
Definitely felt like a setup season, don’t think of it as filler, more of like preparing you for a banger of a season 6. It didn’t feel like anything got resolved which is slightly frustrating but it will be so worth it
Drink every time someone says, “Mr. Shelby, Pours whiskey, lights up a cig” Jokes aside this show is awesome, amazing soundtrack, great acting and directing. Have to know your history to enjoy it that’s what I love about Peaky Blinders. Side note: Finn Shelby is a loudmouth fool. Used to like him but not no more after what his dumbass did.
No one felt the background music this season was too much? It was annoying and ruined the show.. the single cord guitar rifts lasting an entire scene with the camera zoomed in on their face made me want to fast forward to the next scene.
I agree! how is my mind suppose to stay transported in 1930 England with Rock music as the fucking sound track? what idiot thought that was appropriate?
@@josephcampese5347 thats funny how NOBODY complains about RAP being in every movie/tv show even if its conpletly irrelevant to the timeline or plot in any way....
You talked more about the actors then the show and characters. Everything you’ve said in this video has been vague. We know it’s a power struggle and that Tommy’s going through something mentally but go into it a bit deeper.
Unfortunately, the last episodes had no surprise if you've ever read a book about British history - using Churchill as a side characters works, using a historic figure as one of the main villains, not so much. If you add the rather boring spousal conflicts and the ghost Grace viewings, probably the least interesting season so far - I'd say even less than the one where the whole Peaky Blinders gang had some trouble dispatching 15 men because they were "Mafia" (but taking over all of London? Easy). Don't get me wrong, I loved Peaky Blinders - the other 3 seasons are absolutely great. But these two? Meh.
It's either a plothole or they're probably gonna address it the next season.. the moment they got wind of Younger, they got him killed.. so people already knew about what Thomas was doing ans they clearly didn't want him spying or going against Moseley.. so why wasn't Moseley made aware of this?.. or as i said probably, he did know what was coming.. maybe we'll see that in s6
Season 5 was real hard to watch. Ran out of steam. Should have ended the show in 4 seasons. Good show overall tho. A little too slick, didn't capture the time period accurately, but still good. Boardwalk Empire definitely did a better job capturing that time. And it was much more realistic. Peaky got real absurd after awhile. But hey, i'll still be watching the final season. 👊
What a huge disappointment Season 5 is. Starting with Season 1 PB has used inappropriate music for the time period. This season however is just over the top. When you have a period piece film it seems to me, you put a lot of time, money and effort into costumes, cars, buildings etc., basically the set, to build the illusion of that time period. These kind of elements helps transport the viewer back in time. It's hard to stay in 1930 England when Black Sabbath is the god damn soundtrack! And Austin, that you would make an effort to praise the musical selections, you've lost any credibility as a reviewer. The sound track sucked. The writers for season 5 just phoned in the script. It's simply lazy and predictable. The older characters seem to have learned nothing. There's little mid-life maturing much to much adolescent emoting. What a shame.
Good tv show but not better than boardwalk empire THE most underrated tv show (maybe the wire). PB is a bit repetitive, missing the heart boardwalk empire excels at
When I saw this video up on my feed, I thought: peaky blinders season 5?? But he said he haven't watched it. Well thats the first thing u addressed 👍 Spoiler warning: I honestly thought taking out Moseley with shooting him in public in hidden place, was cliché very abraham lincoln style. I think tommy would have been smarter in earlier season and take him out differently but then again he's mentallt unstable and barely sleeps and paranoid so that maybe explains his "fuck it. Lets shoot him in public" plan
Tommy is starting to care too much about being smarter than everyone. Hes feeling insecure about his position these other characters like Mosley, churchill etc. He doesnt have the loyalty for these schemes anymore

The best guy ever.
Alfie Solomons
Any season with Tom hardy!!!
Yesssss
"How is my dog?" "Your dog is fine" "Well in that case ten thousand will do"
"How did you know I was alive?"
"You wrote me a letter asking about your dog"
😂 I love his character so much
It’s crazy how many scenes in season 5 are long one takes
They finally finished shooting on May 28th so we could see the final 6 episodes towards the end of the year.
Best Seasons (All are amazing and are close in quality)
2
4
5
1
3
Primal is coming up, and since both shows were created by Gennesy Tartakovsky, maybe you can slip in a small Smaurai Jack season 5 review (or at least a mention). After all, it's just about the views, am i right!
I suspect the hazy visions during the strategy for snipe shotting is someone spying on them
S5 - 10
S2 - 10
S4 - 9.6
S1 - 9.2
S3 - 9.0
All amazing seasons probably been the most consistently amazing show since Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire even.
Yeah it doesnt make sense cause Netflix had to go and turn the peaky blinders and Winston Churchill into Antifa.
couldn't agree more. especially about the music. season 5 is a total cock up!
I can't get over him marrying lizzie, and now she's so stuck up it's annoying
Why i dont found season 5 in netflix?
Season 4 is the best so far, the strategy was all changed up and we couldn't predicted the ending.
How do u watch season 5 it’s not on netflix
Definitely felt like a setup season, don’t think of it as filler, more of like preparing you for a banger of a season 6. It didn’t feel like anything got resolved which is slightly frustrating but it will be so worth it
Me : how come you can see this much content 😐😐 ??
Austin : 1 hour on earth is 7 days for me
#interstellar
*cue the music
I SEE ALL
Drink every time someone says, “Mr.
I'd rank them from best to worst 2nd, 5th, 1st, 4th, 3rd
Not saying last two are bad, they are great just not as good as the others imo
Season 1 and 2 - good
Season 3 - really good
Season 4 - great
Season 5 - meeh
5 is my favorite so far. Not a dull moment, I loved the political angle, and the finally was so tense! One of the greatest series of all time
Not Netflix produced, it’s a BBC show just distributed on Netflix in some countries fyi.

Only 6 episodes though? How long before season 6?
Never watched this show but its on my to do, to watch, list. heard it was really good.
James Haack sooo good
average show it is.
Damn Peaky Blinders is gonna be the new breaking bad
Season 5 had a lot going on, and not a lot at that same time. Lots of factions and moving pieces, but moving very slowly.
Yea
It wasn't great
All of the seasons are my favorite season.
By order of the Peaky F@*&$n Blinders!
Hey austin, are you gonna do carmen sandiego season 2? It's really good!
@@josephcampese5347 thats funny how NOBODY complains about RAP being in every movie/tv show even if its conpletly irrelevant to the timeline or plot in any way....

often times it's hard to understand the tone someone takes when they're writing. if I understand you correctly, we're in agreement.
It's so weird watching this, then watching Animal Kingdom. Finn Cole is literally the same character in both lol
You talked more about the actors then the show and characters. Everything you’ve said in this video has been vague. We know it’s a power struggle and that Tommy’s going through something mentally but go into it a bit deeper.
I think season 3 or 4 is my favorite, but man this season built up for an epic season 6
this season was such a let-down
Fav seasons are all those with plenty of Alfie Solomons lol
Season 2 was the best with season 5 right behind it.
2 is my favourite but they're all great. Probably go 2,3,4,5,1. Cillian Murphy in this so in genuinely special
Best show on Netflix right now!! I thought ozarks was bad ass until I watched Peaky Blinders!! Can’t wait till new season is dropped.
I loved season 5. Favorite one by far and the writing keeps getting better.
If you can watch love/hate it’s an Irish gang show Aidan Gillen and Robert Sheehan star in one of the best Irish shows ever
Meh.
I never like Cillian Murphy until i watched peaky blinders..very brilliant acting
Season 4🙌🙌🙌 that plot twist though
I loved 1 and 5 ................5 was nerve wracking
This is a BBC show btw Netflix just have distribution rights
It's either a plothole or they're probably gonna address it the next season.. the moment they got wind of Younger, they got him killed.. so people already knew about what Thomas was doing ans they clearly didn't want him spying or going against Moseley.. so why wasn't Moseley made aware of this?.. or as i said probably, he did know what was coming.. maybe we'll see that in s6
...what happened with billy boys I’m so confused
What are you confused about
This show is so fucking good i can't wait for season 6!!!!!
Sean Bean wasn't a Billy Boy lol
🆎 YOU ARE THE BEST 👍💯 ..Wooah It's the first 95% after I started following you.
🙌🏻🙌🏻
Prob in my top 5..
This show incredible...i almost missed it cause i couldnt like it at the beginning
Second season is my favourite!
We are peaky fookiin blinders
Polly is the worse character, apart from her it's great.
Definitely not the best season but still good
why you wearing a BUF t-shirt though lol
Plz review Pennyworth Season 1
Season 5 def
Season 5 was shit
Looooooooooool
The amount of talking in the first half of the season was ridiculous
Is the black cat Lizzie or Polly I mean I feel like if it was Gina it would be to obvious. It would be a good story line if it was Polly or Lizzie
Season 5 is probably the worst season so far but man does it set up for a brilliant season 6 potential
Has there been a bad episode in the 5 Seasons??? Top 5 show for me
Top 10
Season 5 was extremely average
Gillian Murphy?
Good tv show but not better than boardwalk empire THE most underrated tv show (maybe the wire). PB is a bit repetitive, missing the heart boardwalk empire excels at
Episode 6. Almost at the end. ¿Who kill tommys friend (the crazy guy, the sniper, the fucken peaky blinder)? Michael?! rip aberama🙌🏾
Season 2
Season 4
Season 5
Season 1
Season 3
When I saw this video up on my feed, I thought: peaky blinders season 5?? But he said he haven't watched it.
Well thats the first thing u addressed 👍
Spoiler warning:
I honestly thought taking out Moseley with shooting him in public in hidden place, was cliché very abraham lincoln style.
