    Today, I spent a day with the Watanabe family; Japan's biggest and most controversial polygamist family. Consisting of 4 wives, 12 children and the hopes to birth 54 children in his lifetime, what drives the Watanabe family to pursue a polygamist lifestyle in a country that it is outlawed in?

      Yeah, a decent chunk about his relationships start from an unethical standpoint. From not disclosing his status to potential relationships to actively starting relationships with the goal of being famous for having children to coercing folks into a polygamous relations, there is so much wrong.
      Then there's the aspect of whether he'd allow the reverse situation to be true in a relationship. We know the women are fine with him having multiple partners, but are they afforded the same right, or would they have to sepearate from him if they had another partner(s)?
      As someone who is polyamorous myself, there are so many red flags he's probably gonna have less children than those flags.

Do not do it like him- The fact he (apparently) never let any of those girls he know he was already in a relationship is cheating and is absolutely not the norm for serious poly relationships. I know this is a big hehe haha to a lot of people, and props to Joey for interviewing them in a humorous and respectful way (I dont agree with the making of this, but at least he didnt go to their house to make fun of them I guess), but I cannot come out of this video with anything other than absolute disgust towards this mf and sadness towards all the women who ever associated themselves with him (currently or not).
    As a woman who doesn't want children and isn't particularly fond of little kids, it makes me so fucking angry to see that children are only a number to him. He only said he wanted to break a record, he didn't say anything about loving his kids, or how much he would like to care for as many as possible or provide a good future for them (which would be impossible bc ain't no way a highly paid person could provide for a big amount of kids, let alone an unemployed mf).
    It also disgusts me how he starts the relationship LYING. If you're concealing a part of your involvement with other people while already having a stable partner, you're taking away their decision to stay or leave the situation, and you're deceiving people that might want a regular 2-people deal. You can be poly all you want but don't do it like this. Be upfront with everyone from the start and let them decide if they wanna be poly or not. This is so fucking vile and such a bad rep for actual healthy poly relationships.
    Last but not least: it saddens me that he lied to some women to the point that they left while having his baby and calling him all those names. This is speculation on my part, but probably some of them only found out about the poly situation after being pregnant, and that's why they left the situation in that manner. This poor excuse of a human being doesn't seem bothered by it, which is even more awful, and even then he keeps saying he wants more kids (more numbers). He won't ever help with raising them nor giving them the attention they deserve or a good father figure, but that doesn't matter to him. And by the way the wives talked about how the 3 of them help each other raise the kids, it sounds more like these 3 are married to each other while having the guy as a sugar baby/fuck buddy they share. I hope they're happy with their decision to stay with him, but in my eyes, they clearly have more cons than pros on their side.
    Ugh, I wish no girls would give the time of day to guys like him, and I wish he would do right by the partners and kids he already has instead of trying to be famous at other people's expense (both the women and the kids).

Four times, and it looks like he'll keep doing it if the person dosent know about it from online sources. I find it to be extremely duche like behaviour to treat anyone like this.
    Rather than going to family therapy, they decided to just live from one another (4th wife). Which does not address an issue within the relationship but simply is an act if running away from it. If you don't even want to talk/look at your partner what do they even mean to you.
    The wife's also atleast from our understanding of the translated dialogue, the undertone tells us it isn't very "ethical" in a manner.
    Hearing from how problem are dealt by atleast what's said, shouting or etc etc... It practically let's us know why the 4th wife doesn't feel like living together with him.

    This was quite the interview. The guy does have a lot of glaring red flags in how he goes about dating, but they're all consenting adults. All the best to them.
    It would be interesting to hear the perspectives of the ex-girlfriends, especially the initial 12 that he was dating that left (minus the 2 remaining ofc).

      They weren't consenting though. He lied and cheated on multiple women. That's why all of his other baby mamas left. Part of being poly is being transparent with everyone involved.

      @ayo_hitman_bang_introduces 23 дня назад +18

      @Miss_Kisa94 Yeah, that was my biggest issue with how he framed proposing to them. Maybe 'currently consenting' would work better, since they all opted to stay together. And yes, I agree that being poly is hinged on honesty.

    To me, the women look like they don't really enjoy something throughout the interview. To me, I would guess its the nature of the relationship, but it could be that they are just awkward in this type of interview setting. Either way, I don't get...anything about these people. I can understand that some people will go for for multiple partners and be happy together just fine. What I don't understand is what he brings to the table in this situation...

    • @ssummerdew
      @ssummerdew 19 дней назад +1

      the women definitely look like they are trying to keep the dirty laundry in. when joey directed questions at them, usually only 1 answers and quite vague with not much details of their feelings or what really happened. which kind of makes sense why they do that because this interview is about him, to the "outside" they must present a united front, but "inside" there should be many more troubles. furthermore he is manipulating and controlling them (look at the hairstyles! you can also spot abusive relationships in hair salons when the man makes all the decisions and gives all the directions on the woman's hairstyle).

      Of course.. you can't live with multiple wives in one house.. that's madness.. women by nature can get jealous quick by that stuff. But even though they're in seperate houses the man has got to provide for all of them equally and not favour one more than the other. Have to be just. Big responsibility for the man. And if you cant do that, then dont get married to more than one woman.

      @@brentr8608Women who aren't conventionally attractive are prone to self esteem issues that oftentimes have them staying with men bc they've never received male attention before and they believe nobody else would want them. His 3.5 wives are also much younger than him, he's clearly a terrible guy and they're only with him because he trapped them emotionally and isolated them from their friends and family who would all tell him he's a slime ball. I laughed when they said he's good at sex, that's probably the only pro they see to him seeing as he spends more time looking for new girls than with his current wives, and even that I'm sure is a gross misunderstanding from 2 women in their early 20s who never had previous sexual partners. He clearly doesn't care about his wives or the 8 children he has so far that he has no involvement in raising, man is truly disgusting.

    Please interview some artists, a mangaka, an anime studio head, an animator, a novel writer etc. next. You have the power of speaking the language. I don't come across these kind of interviews so often. I've enjoyed your past interviews with creative poeple more. I don't want to see weird people so often that labeled as interesting like in this one or that male pstar for example. By the way I really enjoyed your interview with the anime lover male host back then.
