Hey dude. I just got one. I am typically a Rolex, AP and Cartier collector but then I saw this on a review on RUclips. I didn’t even know the brand that was an afterthought. I knew I wanted it. Mostly for me I love dive watches and I love blue dials. I was also attached to the amount of top spec technology that’s been poured into thus thing. It’s absolute solid and is backed up with a 10 year warranty. All for £5k! It’s absolutely amazing. I would have paid double for it! To top it off it fits tightly and snug on my wrist. It’s extremely comfortable to wear and given it’s made with titanium it doesn’t feel heavy. The only question mark I have is the clasp bas I’m used to Rolex and APs clasps which are superb. My other dive watches are the the Rolex James Cameron deep sea (which feels heavier than thus Oris) and a AP blue dial with a yellow strap which I replaced the blue strap. Overall I love this piece. It’s nowhere as heavy as it looks and it’s so comfortable too. Very refreshing for me personally, as I have really focused in on Rolex, AP and Cartier somewhat as my collection probably demonstrates! Well done Oris!
Killer review, I think you really nailed why this exists and that’s it’s ok to want it. My average wrists do not want to be subjected to this thing, but dang is it cool.
I saw Yankees manager Aaron Boone wearing a OAP4000 today while they were playing the Mets on tv. It was absolutely beautiful and eye catching. I plan on buying one by the end of this year for sure.
When the more wearable/conservatively sized and deeper-diving Seamaster Ultra Deep exists, this watch is a tough sell, but to the points you made, a delight to behold and real fun on the wrist.
Such a cool watch and video Evan! Really looked great on your wrist despite its size! Hope you are doing great and thanks again for the video! Cheers, Ben
Very nice and I am drawn to it. But the rubber bit concerns me, how is it attached? Will it fall off or harden over time? Will a new one be available and how much, how hard to replace?
Awesome looking Aquis! You're absolutely on point imho. It's such a dumb yet beautiful watch. Really dig the overall style of it! As always very entertaining commentary - keep it up 7-inch-guy!
I got a doxa sub 1200T which is 46mm and my sweet spot diver is 39mm yet the lug to lug makes it so wearable so the only thing is "try it on you never know "
I’ve always had a yearning for one of these chonky bois. I’ve looked at both Omegas and Rolexes. This is the one I’d buy. It’s absolutely unnecessary and I absolutely love it.
If I understand this correctly, the only application for this watch is after a certan-death implosion in a deep submersible - but only down to 4000m. So the abyssal plain is out then?
The inside of submersibles are at 1 atmosphere, with regular gas composition. Helium escape valves (and those absurd depth ratings) are useless in submersible dives, assuming the watch is inside the submersible. In fact, James Cameron could have work a vintage wristwatch with no water resistance when we travelled to the bottom of the Mariana Trench inside a submersible.
The more playful of the deep sea clocks. Although I usually prefer boring and serious watches, I dig this approach because Oris managed to make It colourful, yet still technical.
Just because you can build, should you? Would this be like a display piece? Does Oris expect to sell any units - or is it just a PR "see what we can do"?
I suspect this is not a serious watch by Oris. By that I mean given when it released I thought they were poking fun at Omega and Rolex with their equally unwearable monstrosities but Oris does it at a far more approachable price point for a gimmicky toy. I think if H. Moser had made the watch everyone would have felt it was a joke but Oris doing it makes people treat it as serious. But I think Oris may be trolling a bit and showing their playful side.
Oris is one of the few luxury watch brands that still dare to take risks and make unique, high performing watches that you thought you'd never need. That is, until you watched a great review like this one, and realized you did need them. Desperately.
oris are really trying to push this watch onto the watch community far more than the diving community. they have been gifting these watchers to a lot of watch channels it’s clear what target audience they’re aiming their sales at
If by "gifting" you mean loaned out to content creators for review and then returned. Yes, Oris is doing what a lot of other watch brands do for new releases. Which I'm totally OK with. If I need a long-term owner's review, I'll turn to the watch forums.
Here's what I don't understand... if you're in a submersible and breathing Heliox, and some of those pesky Helium atoms get into your watch, and then you go through decompression, why do you need the HEV? Why don't those Helium atoms get out the same way they got in? Love the watch though. It's thicker than most lug widths. Think about THAT. Cool video, thanks.
Love Oris but not this not right now, we just left the huge watch trend about a decade ago and recently into the sub 40mm trend is really nice. I have a 7" worst and 37-39mm is extremely in fir me, if Tony looks kool wearing a 37mm Rollie we can to.
This watch is clearly engineered for the second after the old lady rose dropped it in the water at the end. Car dealers in the United Kingdom say there is an arse for every seat. somebody wants this watch and I would proudly wear it if I found one in a box by the side of the road which had fallen out the back of a van.
Don’t get me wrong, Oris are a genuinely great brand. this is a cross between that sekio 😢Arnold Schwarzenegger wore whilst some nightmare was chasing him through the jungle and a omega seamaster that some idiot with too much money uses to go to places I just wouldn’t want to visit that are cold, very dark and very wet.
That thickness is really stupid, but not in the fun way you described. Makes the Rolex Deepsea look anorexic. And highlights just how stark the difference in the engineering prowess is between the 2 companies. And going through the effort of trying to make it appear function-focused with that bezel locking system, but having such an obscenely protruding crystal that is asking to be smashed to smithereens against some rock outcropping (and there goes all your water resistance to speak off), is just confusing. Is the watch trying to take itself seriously, or is it not?
One of the best commentary watch channels, bravo.
Grazie
I've been told 7 inches is actually too much and uncomfortable so my condolences to you.

😅😅😅
I should call her.

Finally, a combined time telling device, building material, and weapon, all in one difficult to carry package.
Slides perfectly under every cuff 😂 Great video!!!
This thing is gorgeous ❤
I am in love with this thing. I have had many Oris, amazing quality for the money. ❤

It can double up as a shield if someone tries to attack you😉. Great video!

I would like one. Thanks for perpetuating the dangerous thoughts.
When the more wearable/conservatively sized and deeper-diving Seamaster Ultra Deep exists, this watch is a tough sell, but to the points you made, a delight to behold and real fun on the wrist.
But for half the price of the Omega?
There's a fine line between tool watch and fool's watch, but it's reassuring that finally a watch exists that's safe to wear in the shower.
Love it - absolutely love the design of this piece ❤️
Such a cool watch and video Evan! Really looked great on your wrist despite its size! Hope you are doing great and thanks again for the video!

Completely agree, that's the same reason I want the Citizen BN7020-09E, I like the design and tech. I like that strap colour.
Would love one of these, would got well together with my Omega Ultradeep, Citizen Bn7020 and Emperor Tuna
Can I get it in like a 42 mil with 300 m rating because I do love the design
Thanks for the video. Well done. I have already ordered this watch. and yes... no one needs this watch; but you definitely want to have them. 😉
Very nice and I am drawn to it. But the rubber bit concerns me, how is it attached? Will it fall off or harden over time? Will a new one be available and how much, how hard to replace?
Tried it on yesterday, it was fantastic.
They looked at the MM300 thickness and said “hold my beer” 😂 love love love it
MM300 is only 15.4 though. Average chronograph height or something.
My concern with these are the rubber on the bezel. Surely with time they will fade, crack and eventually split.
Awesome looking Aquis! You're absolutely on point imho. It's such a dumb yet beautiful watch. Really dig the overall style of it!

Hi, could you share about the gears for shooting your video? Your channel has the best videography and image quality so far. Amazing!
Sony a7iii. Pretty simple stuff.
How about the lens?@@YoureTerrific
2.8 50mm macro
@@YoureTerrific thank you :)
Witty and insightful as always! Really fun to watch!

Can you check out the aqua terra summer blue 38 millimeter
I'm unsure which option is best as a statement (I cannot waer it any bigger) piece, this or doxa sub300T...

how is the time keeping daily I mean accuracy of the watch
You hate it, until you see Arnold wearing it and then you have to have it. Love the review- "it's for no one" 🙂
It would be classed as a weapon here in the UK
It looks very (Omega PO 6000M Ultra Deep) familiar?
Would have bought an aquis before if it wasn’t for those lugs and limiting strap combos
I have that issue too. And the polish on the lugs and bracelet.
The more playful of the deep sea clocks. Although I usually prefer boring and serious watches, I dig this approach because Oris managed to make It colourful, yet still technical.
So you're saying I don't need my 500m dive watch? 🤔 Well I never.
Like the look of that clasp!
No, no, I’m sure *you* need it.
@@YoureTerrific *you're* terrific 👍
Does the Oris 400 movement still have the issue where the second hand skips when you unhack it? If so, they should have stuck with Sellita.
This issue was resolved awhile back ✌️
I saw the title, and did one of those classic cartoon double-takes. 4 THOUSAND METERS?!?!
Thanks for feeding the addiction 😎!!
Just because you can build, should you? Would this be like a display piece? Does Oris expect to sell any units - or is it just a PR "see what we can do"?
I think it’s mostly a halo piece.
If this was in all black and the band yellow.. would consider .great video
Not a looker and it would need a big big discount for me, but if that happened 😈
Spending double on an Ultra Deep makes far more sense IMO.
Always liked Oris - finally they released a watch with which you can take a shower 🚿
Got rhe 1000m dlc'd little brother a year ago... But I want this one too😅
I watched this video several times.
And I think I really want to own one now.
So thanks, I guess. 🙈
How thick is your wrist again??
I personally love it. ❤
Terrific review. There are a lot of stupid channels out there ( the Time Teller, Federico Talks Watches, etc.); this one is very nice. ❤

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if you were right 😊😊😊
It really is so ridiculous and funny its actually cool, but something I could only wear around my ankle
Beror vilka handleder du har för mig är allt under 44 litet och ser ut som en dam klocka
How does the size compare to the Iwc Aquatimer 2000?
I wish I knew. Less expensive, I’d guess.
It give a new meaning to the Rolex deep sea challenge meaning!
Oris is one of the few luxury watch brands that still dare to take risks and make unique, high performing watches that you thought you'd never need. That is, until you watched a great review like this one, and realized you did need them. Desperately.
They are not a luxury brand made in china £2000 stuff
@@misterzero8667 If you think a watch that costs over 1k is not a luxury watch I'm afraid you're beyond help already.
@misterzero8667 you have no idea what you are talking about, yes its not pure luxury but it is a respected Swiss brand made in SWITZERLAND

True but these are biased reviews. I understand it’s a business but filter accordingly!
Love the channel though, just be prudent.
The question is, do you like your Ploprof, or this watch ?. I own a steel Ploprof, and , i am having this dilemma !.
Ploprof for me. But I have the no-date titanium. The steel was too heavy for me.
I like the look of this over the standard Aquis. If they brought this aesthetic to the standard aquis without the insane specs I’d probably buy one
What specifically?

No, I believe they have a more difficult time getting out than in.
Can I wash dishes with this watch?
It’s not the titanium that is making it heavy, it’s the thick sapphire crystal. Explains why it’s so top heavy.
a good cuff stopper in every case 😂

Why is the strap wrong way round? The opening should face you, just like any bracelets clasp

Bonito reloj Oris. 🤩🤩⌚️⌚️⌚️⌚️

Depends how deep your shower is.

It looks like a massive burger 🍔. Whataburger? WatahBurger. With the Boston accent. Cuz I'm from Boston, Kehd.
this is the watch you want if you're planning on diving so deep that your sub implodes
Neat!

Best Oris since the Col Moschin.
I think you missed the point. This is a serious tool watch made for a purpose, not a everyday beater.
Maybe if you lose the watch while swimming or diving, you know it will survive at the bottom.
“That just makes you sound like a tool” 😂😂😂
The fanciest hockey puck I’ve ever seen and I think it looks good.
