Here i'm testing out my new Dragy GPS performance box.
I'm trying to get the best 0-100 km/h time possible, while it's still very hard to get a solid time with a FWD with this amount of torque!

hi, what about the battery? by unlocking the E motor performance, does it have any bad influence on the battery? shorting life time?
Kun je altijd in GTE rijden dan met de stage 1 of moet je ook regelmatig laden? Wat is het voordeel van een GTE boven de GTI?

Tuning Service Huizen did my car! And yes it’s a world of difference!
I have a a3 etron as wel, tuned my car by tuning service huizen, but mine doenst do 6sec from 0-100! 6.8 is wat i get
Maybe retry when the temperature is warmer, the tires would probably get a little softer.

Dude this car should be under 5 seconds with the right tires. Look at your 60 foot, that’s not very good and the car is definitely quick, it’s just not putting the power down and that’s why the number is not under 6 seconds.
What I did when I had my mk7 gti dsg, was getting launch control ready and then turning traction control back on after letting go of the brake when I launch.
So instead of shredding my tires, I was able to get a pretty good time of 5.3 seconds on a stock car with just an intake and some proper performance summer tires. Traction light still came on for a moment, but didn’t intervene as much and I can guarantee that the times could be lower if I had some drag radials or something lol.
It really comes down to the traction from my experience.

I really agree with you here on the traction point, however:
- the GTE is waaay heavier than the GTI (1600 kg curb weight).
- the GTE has no launch control unfortunately!
- the GTE needs 3rd gear to reach 100 km/h, whereas the GTI made it in 2nd, right?
I do have the option to get better tires, i have Pirelly P Zero now (225/35 R19), which came with the set.
So maybe a better tire (and 235 perhaps)!

Maar hij is bijna versleten, dan ga ik uiteraard voor de PS4S
@@ot2nie ik had de P zero en nergens grip ook bochten heel slecht. Nu nog wel last van maar dat is gewoon het fwd probleem. Zelf ook bij tuningservice geweest heb dan wel eem gti perf. 335pk 480nm

Hey, im interested in purchasing a gte and got a few questions. What is guel consumption like, once the battery has been depleted, driving in various conditions? What is the fuel consumption when cruising specifically at 130kmh, assuming depleted battery?
Furthermore, I've driven golf mk8 for some time and i've got to say i love the lane-centering feature, called travel assist. It does not drift between the lines but stays perfectly centered at all times. Does mk7 gte have the same feature, was is maybe optional or?.. what about active cruise control, does mk7 gte have one, and does it use brakes aswell?

It's been a year so I assume your question is no longer valid but I'll answer anyway if someone else is interested, because I wanted to know these things too before my purchase. I have a 2016 Passat GTE. It is pretty much the same thing but bigger and a bit less sporty, that's at least how I see it. The Passat must use a bit more fuel than the Golf of course but I'm averaging around 6.5l/100km with economical driving with the battery depleted with the CC at 133km/h. Lane keep assist is an optional feature, but the ACC was standard on the GTE Passat. Regular CC is standard for sure on a Golf as well, I'm not too sure about the adaptive version.
It is worth buying the Golf GTE with 170.000 km ?
@@patrickbrinzanik5201 It still likely has a lot of kilometers ahead, but I personally put a maximum at 140.000km when buying my GTE. I'm no expert, it was just an educated guess and my guess has still paid out with my GTE with 133.000km.

How long does GTE mode last and if the battery runs out does it still give u the 285bhp?
It will give 285 hp with a minimum of 18 km range.
Below that it starts dropping to about 220-230 at 0 range i believe..

Hey, ik wil een GTE kopen en ben er nu een aan het zoeken. Echt een allround goede auto. Nu hoor ik wel verschillende meningen over het verbruik. Hoe zuinig is de auto als je gewoon elke dag oplaad?
Als je elke dag elektrisch kan rijden, rij je supergoedkoop: hetzelfde als een elektrische auto.
Als je op benzine zou rijden (bijvoorbeeld als je op vakantie gaat), redde ik meestal rond de 1 op 17-18 gemiddeld met wisselende snelheden.
Ik heb ooit berekend dat als je puur op elektra rijd, dat je het ongeveer kan vergelijken met een auto die 1 op 35 rijdt, maar dat gaat met de huidige benzineprijzen ook niet meer helemaal op..
Je zou even op moeten zoeken wat een kwh jou kost per stuk en ervan uitgaan dat de gte per kwh tussen de 4-8 km rijdt (afhankelijk sportief of eco).
@@ot2nie Super nice dat je - ook zo snel - reageert man. Lastig om iemand te vinden die ervaringsdeskundige is. Ik zie op autoweek dat mensen op “hybride modus”, dus als je “gemixt” rijd dat je dan 1000+ kilometer kan maken op één volle tank, klopt dat?

nope 1000km op een tank bestaat niet, omdat:
- de gte heeft een kleine tank (40 liter ofzo).
- dan moet je minimaal 1 op 25 halen en dat is simpelweg niet mogelijk met een 1.4 turbomotor die een auto van 1500+ kg vooruit moet duwen..
Wanneer het wel kan: als je 500 km rustig op benzine rijdt (rond die stand gaat het reservelampje aan) en de rest elektrisch rijdt en vervolgens blijft opladen en elektrisch rijden totdat je op 1000 km bent😝
Niet helemaal eerlijk haha, want zo kun je ook 3000 km op een tank halen..

@@bor5718 thanks! Ja 500-550 km is mij gelukt op een tank met normaal rijden.
Geen probleem, er is idd te weinig over hybrideverbruik te vinden online, maar het hangt ook erg af van je eigen situatie..
Men vindt het natuurlijk stoer om te kunnen zeggen dat zijn hybride 1000 km haalt op een tank, maar als iets te mooi lijkt om waar te zijn, is dat meestal ook zo😀😀
Hoe zet je traction control uit dan?

Im interested in a GTE 1.4 tsi 150hp 2015 sh but I heard the 1.4 tsi engine is not that good and have many problems . Is it worth buying ? What I should be carefull when I buy it? You got any problem till now? Is it expensive to repair?
I have had no problems, almost 80.000 km now.
The old 1.4 had problems, this newer one is fine😅😅
There are no known problems with this engine.
It is the old 1.4 engine that has a known oil problem.
Everytime you hear about bad 1.4 tsi it's ea111 engine. In golf GTE there is an ea211 and there are no problems with it
Golf GTE has one of the most reliable TSI engine and DSG gearbox. Only common issue with the TSI is like all Direct injection cars carbon buildup on higher mileage cars. If you are really interested make sure you check if the engine has had its oil changes on time and the DSG also had its oil changes on time. Other than that not really much to look out for,

6 sec is heel netjes.. Maar ik heb het idee dat hij vrij vroeg opschakelt?
Herken ik namelijk van mijn Passat.
Als ik de passat automatisch laat schakelen, schakelt hij vrij vroeg over in z'n 1.
Ben daarom een voorstander van de flippers ipv automatisch
Ja ik gebruik ook flippers en ik schakel meteen door naar 2 om de slip te beperken😅😅
@@ot2nie ok.. Dan heb ik die flippers gemist. Dacht dat je op automatisch reed.
Maar dan ligt hier denk ik nog iets ruimte. Met wat hogere temperaturen kan ik in z'n 1 volledig doortrekken zonder slip. Denk dat dit bij niet anders zal zijn.
Ruik ik daar een 5,x sec aankomen? 😄
Gaat je elektriciteit ook sneller op door de stage 1 tuning? (In e mode)
Alleen als je lange tijd top speed gaat rijden, maar anders merk je niks!

@@ot2nie and at Cupra León e hybrid 204hp vs Cupra león 245 HP...both have the same engines technically. The diferencie os from eléctric software?
@@SuperJoss7 yes, the 204 version has half electric power (around 50hp) and the 245 version has fully unlocked electric motor!

how much did it cost you to do stage 1, to understand that you switched to the electric motor ??? in this way you gave in GTE mode you have all the power to the petrol engine 156 and the electric one 115 yes ??

@@ot2nie Geen idee wat de 19" maat voor een Golf 7 precies is. Ik gok 235 breed ipv 225, maar neem de volgende keer maar Michelin PS 4S, in ieder geval voor de vooras. Daarmee heb je veel meer grip, op droog als op nat wegdek.
Als het mij lukt en als die bekende van mij toevallig aanwezig is. Dan zal ik eens kijken of ik 0-100 mag meten met zijn 315pk sterke Golf GTE (met Dragy). Geen idee welke banden hij heeft.
Kan je met een GTE niet een soort van launch control doen, of een beetje gasgeven terwijl je 'm op de rem houd?
@@ThenameisOskar ik heb 225/35 R19 en op de Golf R wordt 235 idd gebruikt.

@@ot2nie Een betere band bestaat er momenteel niet. Uit ervaringen (Leon Cupra's) hoor ik dat zelfs met 370 tot 400pk die banden heel veel grip leveren met enkel voorwiel aandrijving.

It is, below 6 on dragy is possible.
Stock only 6 on speedo is possible, which is close to 7 on the dragy.
Voor een 285pk sterke auto vind ik hem niet zo super snel had wel eerder 5.7 sec ongvr verwacht ga mn polo gti ook inruilen met een gte vndaar dat ik er benieuwd naar ben
Ja op de teller kan je 5.5 halen en ik kan nog beter rubber eronder zetten..
Niet vergeten dat de auto 1600kg weegt😉😉
En niet vergeten dat je bijna 500 nm hebt wat alleen naar de voorwielen gaat.
Waarom zou je een GTI inruilen voor een hybride?
@@steefje1994 omdat er mensen zijn die dezelfde performance willen en het oké vinden om wat wegligging op te geven om zo de gebruikskosten vaak meer dan te halveren😉😉
@@ot2nie precies mijn redenering. Ik rijd ongeveer 75-100km per week en kan dit dan met een vebruik van 0 doen. Ik rijd nu al 2500 km met dezelfde tank. Als ik dan op de GTE knop druk heb je een auto die sneller al dan niet net zo snel is als een golf GTI, en met een Stage 1 chip ben je 0-200 net zo snel als een Golf R.

@@ot2nie The GTE actually passed 100 Km/H in 4seconds. Probably it did around 95 Km/h in 4seconds and because of the wheelspin it didn't got to 100 Km/H. So it measured around 95 Km/H in 4seconds and 100 Km/H in 6seconds because of the wheel spin. But actually if you look at 1:44 you can see that it approximately passed 100 Km/H in 4seconds.

@@ot2nie This was with Apexi RSM. There is a report on the internet of vw spec sheets being wrong. As its not 204hp, because this is roughly calculated as knowing the output of the electric engine at the rpm where it drops of and the petrol engine takes over. Also it variates from car to car. Mine has 234hp stock, and my dads gte has 217. His still did 0-100 in 6.7, and the spec sheets says 7.4.

However the RSM as far as i’m aware uses speed reading from the car itself and not gps, right?
I’ve found that the difference between that is about 0,2-0,3 sec.
Still a very good time from a stock gte, but i’ve never seen a stock gte do about 6,5 sec (gps that is, not through it’s own reading or a 1hz phone app).
I’m in a whatsapp group with about 80 gte drivers (both tuned and untuned) and lots of em claimed similar times, but when we used the gps: most times were alot higher: about 7 for stock and 6,2-6,5 for tuned.
@@ot2nie It uses PCM which is more accurate than gps. GPS i generally very unaccurate way of measuring 0-100.
As i said, 6.5 is very normal for gte, there is a paper that wrote about VW lying about 0-100 time
@@Ruudiii how can you say pcm is more accurate?
If you use 16 inch wheels instead of 17 inch, the pcm will think you’ve reached 100, while you’ve only reached let’s say 97 because of the effectively lower final drive!
The ecu itself will never be 100% accurate, you need an external measurement for that😅
Hence why it’s also used in motorsport applications.
Would love to see that paper though, never heard of that..
