  • I'm Aja Dang and it's your favorite video of the year! My 2023 money goals, visual roadmaps and financial trackers video. While we are no longer saving for a wedding (thank god) my money savings goals are plentiful and ambitious. What worries me a bit is that my income isn't what it used to be since I took three months off but hopefully the new year comes with new opportunities and I'll be able to accomplish all my goals.
    main short term goal:
    1. Fund Beyonce
    2. Finish bill sinking funds (2024 health insurance, the remainder of 2023 car insurance, 2024 car insurance, dog insurance, joint HSA, holiday sinking fund, local wedding)
    3. Save up $10,000 (between Brian and I) for our honeymoney/a international wedding next year
    4. Start saving up for a short term move to New York
    main medium-term financial goals (these are goals within 5 years):
    1. continue to save towards a house (though the urgency is no longer there)
    2. save up for a car. I sold poor little Chun Li a month ago so it's time to build a car fund. Currently, sharing one care isn't a big deal so I'm ok for the next few years.

    Hey everyone! Just to clarify my honeymoon budget - while our sinking fund is for $10,000, our total budget for our honeymoon is $15,000 (we've already saved $5k). that being said, Brian and. Ireally do need to figure out our plan so we can get a better grasp as to what we can do within that budget. Thanks for everyones honeymoon suggestions! Keep 'em coming

    As a European I suggest: Start in London (you might arrive there anyway, I think…?), take the train to Paris, travel to South of France, visit a nice place in the Alps (Switzerland, Austria, Italy), if you have days left choose a chill out place in Italy (maybe one of the islands?).
    I personally wouldn’t jet from left to right almost every day, but try to find an organic route where a lot can be done by train.
    But In the end the route depends on what you want to experience. Cities? Nature? Artsy and hip or traditional places?
    I’m curious what your final plans will look like!

      @@AjaDang Switzerland is crazy expensive with everything! Just a small example, the mobile service is charged differently there, so you can get huge bill afterwards if you are not careful. This summer we were going by car with prepaid (luckily!) sim card through Italy and then France, and all was well until we entered Switzerland and the mobile money was all gone in 30 min cause my 3g was on for maps and it was charged as roaming in Switzerland which I was not aware of. We just left the country on the same day as fast as we could and had dinner on the other side of the border. Truth is, you get the same experience mountains and lakes / food / culture wise with much more reasonable budget in Austria, it's not like you get anything dramatically different in Switzerland but expenses will hurt badly afterwards

    New Yorker here! October is a beautiful time to be in the city for the month. The leaves are turning so you have some nice foliage, especially of course in Central Park and Prospect Park, but the weather is still warm enough for long walks, rooftop bars, etc. November tends to get kind of grey and blah, very rainy. October is just chef's kiss.

Me and my sisters opened a savings account so we can all chip in towards tickets for whenever that lady decides to announce her tour. I also think one month may be a little short for your time in New York! I may be biased since I'm already living in Brooklyn lol but if you're thinking about New York in the fall, you gotta be here until after early November!

      I hope she's making money off these videos but that just increases her income not how she manages her finances. If you spend more than you make you will always be broke. I have a much smaller household income than her (no Beyonce tickets here and definitely not in a few months) but I still save for my next car and have sinking funds. Again, on a much, much smaller scale but at the end of the year my household spends less than we make and we are intentional with our money, that's what matters.

    $10,000 for the honeymoon ends up being $350/day for each of you. Once you convert that to the pound or the euro, you'd only have £290/€320 per day based on current exchange rates. Half of your budget could easily be eaten up in hotels and flights within Europe alone. I feel like you need to figure out what you want to do, where you want to stay, etc., and determine the most you'd be willing to spend.

    • @KayGee_yt
      @KayGee_yt Год назад

      I think it depends on you. I don't live lavishly like they do, so these numbers are just larger versions of my own. But even if the hotel is $300 a night and they spend $2500 on plane tickets, they'll still have several thousand for food and excursions. Calculating it out would be smart for them but I don't think 10k is wildly unrealistic

    • @alexisreve1
      @alexisreve1 Год назад

      @@KayGee_yt With those numbers plus the currency exchange, they'd each have about £97/€110 a day for food and activities. Definitely not impossible, but if nicer things are a priority, they need to plan. If they eat 3 meals a day, ~100 can easily be spent just on food.

After London go to Tuscany for a week, rent a car and enjoy riding through the Tuscan (postcard)surroundings and spend the last few days in Cinque Terre (including Portofino). With $15000 to spend, you can do a lot in Italy! Within Tuscany my favorite places are Chianti and Montepulciano area. Lucca, Siena and Florence are beautiful cities to visit.

I was wondering how you go about writing in both - do you write on the physical planner and then later write the same things into the digital one? It’s probably a silly question but I’m legit trying to understand 😂 and be better at being organized; more importantly … actually create and stick to a budget so that I can make a few sinking funds. I’d really appreciate the help! 😅 🙏🏻♥️ Appreciate you so much!

    Yessss you should live in New York for a month! It’ll be a good experience and I’m sure you’ll learn a lot. You never know what you will discover about yourself and the city until you actually live here:). Excited for you!!!

    I have a suggestion for a video I think. Can you make suggestions on budgets and such for people with high debit and low income? Say my own - $26k credit card and vehicle loans, $100k student loans, and only $35k income and trying to start a somewhat high initial cost crafting side business.

    In Italy you must go to Florence, San Gimianio, Cinque Terre, Switzerland- Muerren/Lauternbrunnen, France Colmar/Alsace, Spain - Barcelona is obvious but maybe if you are a foodie San Sebastian next Granada, Valencia, Czech Republic- Prague and two weeks will not be enough unless you have private jet😉

    My partner & I just returned from our Europe honeymoon. We paid $7,800 AUD (for the both of us) for 3 weeks. We’re from Australia. Our flights were very average but we were more than happy to do the long flights in order to save some money.
    We spent around $2500 in spending money.
    I think we did pretty well considering we did everything we wanted to!
    We flew to London, train to Paris, flew to Rome, train to Pompeii, flew to Greece and then to Mykonos 🤍🤍
    Goodluck with the planning. It was such hard work. We left two days after our wedding 😅🥲 I would change that if I could go back! Xx

    $10,000 or even $15,000 seems really low for two people on a two week vacation to Europe. I just went to Cambodia from South Korea and spent $5,000 for four days just by myself. But I’ll admit, I definitely don’t skimp on buying Business Class and 5 star resorts…

    Concert tickets are nuts right now. Good luck for the Beyonce ones hopefully it'll go better than the Swift ones. I only got Era's Tour tickets because they did the second chance and I ended up with floor seats so that came to about 1200 since the fees were $250.00. But this was a goal of mine this year so I feel better that I am going and I had the money to pay for them, but I still get sticker shock.

    You can do 2 weeks in Europe for $5,000 and have a great vacation. Depends on what you plan on doing. If you need 5 star accommodations though, then $10k is more realistic.
    Also, don't come to New York. As a lifelong New Yorker, crime is incredibly high right now. Also, the costs of living here is insane at the moment. I probably wait till 2024, for things to settle down a little bit more in the economy and for us to get our violence under control.
