    That first point hits HARD. I'm 30 and just starting to take serious steps towards real financial freedom. RUclips and Google have taught me more about financial management and realistic paths to wealth in the last week than school and uni did in 17 years.

      Absolutely true. My problem is that I'm older than Google and RUclips so I had to spent a good part of my life being a good little employee while slowly waking up and learning what the world really looks like. Now I'm 42 and I'm learning new things every day. And will do that till I die probably, cause I'm curious by nature. :)

    1. Educate yourself on how to make your money grow.
    2. Don't worry about what others think about you.
    3. Don't take rejection personally and learn to bob and weave to get what you want.
    4. Invest in your money-making ventures (tools, tech, knowledge, outsourcing)
    5. Use willpower to say no to social expectations around spending/lifestyle. Find meaning/satisfaction in *your* process.
    6. Basically, work fast and break things.

    It’s not FOMO for me, more a case of YOLO. I might not be here in 10 years… I feel there is an important balance between saving/investing, and living your life at a young age. (I’m 30)
    My opinion is enjoy yourself and experience everything you want to, but without getting into debt.
    It’d all be a waste of time and effort if you were to end up being the richest person in the graveyard!

    • @OzzyTing
      @OzzyTing 9 месяцев назад +6

      Was looking for this comment. Absolutely agree, and it's so hard to find the balance. I've also just turned 30, feeling very caught between enjoying the 'young' years I have left whilst living in fear that if I don't spend all my time saving/planning for the future I'll be an incompetent and incapable 40 year old. SIGH!!

    • @karkowaw
      @karkowaw 8 месяцев назад +1

      My thoughts exactly! What is the point of saving and 'cutting' on some pleasures of life when you're young if you're going to have all the money when you're old and have no energy to spend it? I'm all for investing and being smart with your savings but I also enjoy experiencing life like travelling from time to time. I don't want to spend my life being miserable just to have a lot of money in my 60s

    The quote “the more you overthink (…) the more you’ll feel overwhelmed” is a very simple but VERY accurate one. Overthinking only tends to give you more problems to think about and stress you out. Thanks for the tips, I like how straightforward and honest you are about topics that everyone finds it so difficult to talk about. Keep it up! ❤

    I discovered this channel a short time ago because I feel lost. I'm 40, I've worked and tried my whole life and in the end I still don't have a roof over my head, I've had enough but right now I feel so lost and without hope. Every day I try to watch at least one video or learn something. I know it seems funny to me sometimes, but even for that I need an incredible amount of strength for it and everything seems impossible, but I still haven't lost my spirit completely. I hereby thank everyone.

    I just turned 40 and for most of my career so far I’ve floated by on a generous income without putting much thought into where my money was going. I did manage to make my first six-figure year prior to 30, but always relied on others to manage my money for me. I wound up keeping a lot less of it than I would have liked. Taking accountability and managing not only your wealth but yourself as well is so important. It’s like a lawn; you can tend to it from time to time but it will quickly run away on you. I wish I would have learned this sooner - now I make my finances a daily affair and it becomes much more manageable and I can change with my situation much better now :)

      It's good that you are trying to find passive income streams and invest too. Just an advice that I took from the "Just Keep Buying - Nick Maggiulli" was that while you are early in your career (20s) focus on increasing your income rather than overthinking on what you should invest. People's income typically grows faster in the first part of their career. Of course, this applies in case you don't already have a consistent amount of money to invest.

    • @ShaunSurgener
      @ShaunSurgener Год назад +3

      it can take some time to figure out your passive income stream.. i think the key is to keep adding to what you are doing and finding ways of increasing that income... i've tried a few different things over the years and have found a good flow of my business, rental properties, and building out courses / programs as well. If you are 21 and already thinking like this you are way ahead of the game.. i only had $400 to my name at 23.. keep crushing it out there and let's build that dream

    Regarding qustioning the answer, I did something similar. Was tired of not getting a raise, spoke to my manager and their manager about what I needed to do to justify a raise and did it. They came back and gave me a pretty shitty raise compared to my market value. In that time I'd also been job hunting and doing research on salaries. When they spoke to me, I said I think it should be £X. They didn't think I deserved that much, but they did think I deserved more than what they were allowed to give me by company policy. Not long later I had accepted a new job offer and given my notice. Even with the raise I was given, I moved for 47% more.
    This is all to say, if someone doesn't value your work, find someone who does.

Most people in full time jobs don’t think beyond that but I do think making sure you’re very good at doing what your primary job entails and making sure you’re skill is In high demand means if you lose that primary job/income stream you can easily get another one.

    Well, Nischa, you are really impressive. Being so wise and balanced at your age...knowing already who you are and where you want to be...such a strong sense of identity. I really hope my teenaged daughters will become like you. I have sent them a link to your chain. Thank you very much and I wish you a lot of success and happiness.

    My FOMO is what keeps me grounded in my ultimate goal, happiness in life. I don't get FOMO in someone else's life, only my own.
    but otherwise, I agree with everything else you give as advice. I'm glad I've discovered your channel. Glad you did it. And I should too (with my business ideas).

    Dear Nischa, I was hooked from the first video I watched from you, you are a breath of fresh air to all the "how to become a millionaire" videos I have watched so far, you present the concepts in a simple way (with pears and apples) I really enjoyed your material and appreciate your experience and how you so generously share your success stories with the world. I commit to follow your advice and... see you at the top. Blessings to you.

    Very helpful video and thanks for putting it together. The only thing I would add is while chasing your goals and dreams is fine, don’t forget to live your life as well. If you don’t, it comes back later in life as regret that doesn’t do any good.

    I've set a goal for annual salary, and incredibly, I've hit it as well. My problem, however, is that I am super unhappy with the rest of my life. Even though the job is more or less my dream job, it keeps me living in a specific city, away from my social circle. Meanwhile, at home, there are not the same opportunities. I'd have to backtrack on my goals, taking a number of steps down on the salary ladder with little hope of climbing to the same level, or beyond. It's a torturous dilemma...
