Yep I’ve noticed increased moisture and length retention too over time with this method. I have extremely dense low porosity hair. My twists stay neat too and more elongated. I have not used more than filtered shower water, distilled water, and rosewater since June 2019. I think the last time I used rosewater was actually July 2019. So with consistency this method can work. Not sure it’ll work for absolutely everyone, but it’s been working for me. Cool it’s been working for you too!
Heyy Flower Girle thanks for sharing your progress. Yes I’m in agreement with you on the consistency. It has transformed my curls for the better. I’d love to hear about your update so please don’t forget to subscribe, thanks. 🙏🏽
Also, I noticed in the video you mentioned using ph-balanced products. I was using aloe water ph 4.5- 5 until I reached full sebum coverage. Sebum is also ph-balanced, and with full coverage I noticed my hair ends stay nice and curly and 99.9% split end free even with regular water washing. I find that the beauty of water washing is that it removes excess buildup and debris without stripping the protective sebum so you can maintain hair integrity and ph balance.
Flower Girle yes that’s correct. I haven’t achieved full sebum coverage but my hair remains very #moisturized. Thanks for sharing, please don’t forget to subscribe. I’ll be sharing my new vitamin C shower filter. 😃
Only shampoo I use is the kinky curly come clean. I only need very little because it has a chelating ingredient in it and I have hard water. Though it also strangely seemed to help move the sebum down my hair. At least for me. Other than that I deep condition with aloe vera juice and vegetable glycerin. So far I've lost very little hair when washing and detangling. I also use a wooden comb when I need to thoroughly detangle. My hair is softer, shinier, a bit more elongated, yet more curly in more places
Great information!! My goal is to start focusing on the overall health of my natural hair and retention. I'm a newbie to natural hair. Your hair is gorgeous! 🥰
Amazing how you experience hair moisture with this method! Awesome! I so need that for mine. Will be reaching out because I'm about to wear my natural hair out and for a longer period of time that I usually do to get it back to its healthy state. Thanks for sharing with us!
I’m glad to hear it’s working well for you. I love the simplicity of it. Thanks for watching. There are more updates rolling out this month so be sure to check back. 💖
I used the method a couple of years ago and my hair was thriving! It was the longest and healthiest it had ever been! Unfortunately I messed it up by getting a Brazilian treatment and had to big chop again. Five years later my hair is still not in the best shape. That’s why I started water only washing again just now and look forward to seeing the results again. :-)
Hey Trin 10 thanks for watching and that’s a great question. I started off by researching the benefits and what it entailed. I then found a RUclipsr that answered all my questions. I now somewhat follow her routine.
Heyy Ranny M One way to help balance sebum and make it thinner in texture is to introduce more linoleic acid. Topically, you can do that by using a facial oil that is higher in linoleic acid, an unsaturated fatty acid that helps thin out the thick, sticky sebum common to acne-prone skin. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching. 💖

Did your hair texture change?
And can I use oil on my scalp and wash it out only with water or should I use shampoo?
Rinsing with water will not remove the oil but shampoo will.
How often do you deep condition?
Heyyy Gina! I deep condition once a week. Thanks for stopping by! 💖
How do you start getting into water only washing?
Hey Trin 10 thanks for watching and that’s a great question. I started off by researching the benefits and what it entailed. I then found a RUclipsr that answered all my questions. I now somewhat follow her routine.
I'm starting to do this again, ( I usually do it once a year for 6 months ) it's perfect for summer time !!! I'm preparing to start now!
Yes Kendra Willis get back on it, you’re #curls with thank you! 😁
😳😳🤔 I’m learning something new!!! Do you water rinse before bed or before you start your day?
Heyy Demetrius Ewing thanks for tuning in. I water rinse before bed and simply retwist my hair, seal my ends then go to bed.
Is there anything that thins sebum?
