I'm surprised that we haven't done more stories in this dimension. This literally has infinite potential
There's an audio story with the 6th Doctor, Jamie, and Zoe called Legend of the Cybermen, where they try to invade
Also, the War Master has a whole box set in the fiction universe
This is very inventive story for doctor who and very trippy so I'm glad that all 5 episodes survive because l cant imagine watching this story in reconstruction.
2:40. Classic scene in Doctor Who history
clASSic
HOURGLASS
"Something for the dads", - John Nathan-Turner
That’s no moon!
What a magnificent beam 😂
0:03 "Beat them off!"
"Oh Jamie my eyes!"
2:31 That eerie music is still creepy. Ingenious work of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop as always.
The music that follows the white robots is the eeriest
Especially the scene where they slowly walk down the stairs to it
One of my favorite 2nd Doctor stories ❤
My favorite Tardis team: The second Doctor, Jamie and the ever beautiful Zoe
Met her a couple of times...she IS as beautiful as ever..❤
The old episodes were really scary.
Smaller effects budget meant that they had to focus on the story more, that is why classic Who will always be superior to New Who. Much as I love the new series.
Because the show was still new at the time, and they wasn't that much established lore to keep up with, the writers had more freedom and could do whatever creepy and crazy stuff they wanted.
Really scary but good for its time.
Well, they weren't always but this one was such a phenomenal concept it really is a classic
I would like to see the land of fiction return.@@TheImmediatePastPrez
It's amazing how hard they worked to entertain without the technology they have today.
Right?
9:37 the only bit of music in the whole story (apart from some sampled classical music during a battle scene).
One of my first and favourite doctor who stories ever since I first watched it at 13 years old. The energetic pacing appealed to the extremely mid attention span I had back then, which I gladly lack now and can watch almost any doctor who story without getting bored.
The first part is amazing. The white robots scared me as a kid. Plus, they look marvelous.
The toy soldiers are creepy too
Fun fact: The robot costumes are actually reused from a BBC anthology series with a lot of missing episodes called Out of the Unknown (basically the BBC equivalent of The Twilight Zone). The episode that the robots came from is one of the missing episodes called "The Prophet". This is interesting because another one of the missing episodes called "Get Off My Cloud" had the Daleks in it, and also has a lot to do with the mind and imagination and all that.
Of the 49 episodes of Out of the Unknown, only 20 are known to survive (along with various photographs, clips, audio snippets, and the full audios of a few of the missing episodes) There was a BFI released DVD set of the surviving episodes, along with reconstructions of some of the missing episodes with those full audios I mentioned, but the DVD set is long out of print and goes for high prices on the secondary market.
Great episode, my favourite story of the show next to the Doctor Falls.
Wendy Padbury was the babe of Dr. Who of all time 🥰
These late 60's shows were so trippy, man.
9th's Tardois falling apart in "Father's Day" was not the first time tha Tardis disassembled and reassembled itself! 11:15
You spelt tardis wrong
2:40
That’s no moon!
well, this episode has the most accurate laser beams. They are invisible!
Patrick Troughton was THE BEST! Why is almost an entire season still missing?!
Jamie was my favorite companion.
1:47 when the edible kicks in
This is one of my absolute favourites - Doctor Who, full stop. Sadly whenever I read the title, my mind jumps to the 1987 US Convention footage of Patrick talking to some fans, and one of them says - "Oh no, not the Mind Robber!"
It's possible they were doing a Castellan "No not the Mind Probe"
Zoe's sparkly costume was a classic.
I use to think it was either coloured bronze or copper. But it was actually grey, which I didn’t particularly like.
Classic Doctor is sooo nostalgic
Wendy Padbury was the hottest Dr. Who companion ….ever 🥰
The Doctor, an eternal optimist. Hopes his actions turn out alright, cant guarentee it.
I like The Mind Robber
2:32 anyone notice that Zoe is lying on her rights side. But when we cut to that ever popular closeup of her, she’s suddenly lying on her left?
That's because there were two shots. One of Frazer Hines and Wendy Padbury lying on the console and another which is a model console with dolls.
This is wild man
“And only an earth man type creature”
One of my favorites vato
Wow! I don’t want to go through that Experience! That’s scary!
Wendy Padbury was so sexy as Zoe.
🤨📸
She once said if she was taller, and had a bigger chest. She could have qualified for a Bond girl role.
Why isn’t there a Tales of the Tardis for the 4th Doctor?
I'm guessing they had difficulty getting people. Tom Baker is almost 90 and looking increasingly frail, so I wouldn't be surprised if he refused. As for companions: Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane), Ian Marter (Harry) and Mary Tamm (Romana I) are dead. Adric died in the show, and would kind of undermine Earthshock anyway. Romana is a Time Lord, so her appearance would need serious explanation. They don't have the rights to K9. That leaves Louise Jameson (Leela) who was likely not available at short notice. Or do Logopolis with Tegan and Nyssa, who are more associated with the 5th Doctor.
ah yes the great intelligence ,
This story has nothing to do with the Great Intelligence, the Great Intelligence was only in The Abominable Snowmen and The Web of Fear. The main villain of this is the Master Computer of the Land of Fiction
@@IcySlavKat Yeah. The Mind Robber is good and weird but I'd much rather see some Yetis.
Please watch 1 to 4
And oh yes a unicorn or
V scary
