I thought this was an okay episode when I first watched it back in the 80s, but within the past 20 years, give or take, I've come to greatly appreciate the prescience of the concept.
I used to always hate the scene where the Doctor is supposed to be falling into quicksand. I don't mind it now, 'cause Colin said what great fun it was to film that scene. He said they brought three complete costumes for him in case they had to do more than one take, but they nailed it on the first try. So I just tell myself, "Colin was having fun, Colin was having fun...."
Please release more new episodes of Tales of the TARDIS! I hope we can see new stories created for Tales of the TARDIS. I would love to see the Doctors come back for new storylines via Tales of the TARDIS.
My 6th Doctor episode was Revelation of the Daleks. The doctor and Peri land on a planet where everyone lives underground ground and zombies roam the surface. They Davros' head in a glass container.
It makes me chuckle that the production crew of the time made Nicola keep her faux US accent even during interviews. It was a shcok when I heard her real accent as an adult. 😂😂
I thought it was a ruse she took up to get the job that she subsequently had to maintain as only USA actors were being considered for the role. Effectively lieing on your CV.
@@josephmarrison4606 He had the eeriest "dead face". Apparently his son, Sean, won an award in acting school for "best dead face", so it probably runs in the family. But Jon Pertwee could definitely lock his eyes and collapse like nobody. He made _such_ a compelling Doctor, and he had the Lethbridge-Stewart and the Sarah Jane Smith... and the car.
Nobody loves Jodie more than Colin. Suddenly he looks a lot better. Sil.was always my favorite villain though. Nabil chewed the scenery and it was glorious
@@stationsixtyseven67 I’m in Australia but love how they have put all the episodes on BBC Iplayer in the UK. I also have all of Classic Who/New Who on dvd which is cool :) love the Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee years.
@@rosesedits I applaud your good taste Rose. As I'm 55 a year old, those two Doctors were 'my' Doctors :) Of the 'reboot' Doctors I rate David Tennant and Christopher Ecclestone very highly too. They did a fantastic job of bringing the character up to date. I thought Jodie Whittaker was fantastic as well, but didn't think much of the stories they gave her.
10:23-10:52 A lot of people saw this scene and thought the Doctor was actually trying to push the guard into the acid bath. In reality, though, he's just keeping him bay - it's the other guard that causes him to fall in. The Doctor's remark about prefering not joining them isn't appropriate, though.
A) 6 is one of the absolute best Doctors. B) You've never seen the Peter Cushing movies, I gather. You have no idea what "bad" _Doctor Who_ is. You think you have, but you have NEVER seen a bad episode of _Doctor Who_ because by relative comparison, they do not exist.

One of Six's better stories. A shame what Colin Baker went through.
Despite his tv era being what it is, this one has always been a true gem

6, Colin Baker, is MY Doctor.
Jon Pertwee is mine.

Water thirst, mirage and 6th
Such a great video! Classic Who is so good ❤ need to watch more of it. Thanks for sharing this!
Steven Moffat approved.
They're pretty much all on BBC iPlayer now, so fill your boots! :)

@@stationsixtyseven67 thanks and yes they were amazing! Such great doctors and actors :) love them.
Fantastic scene
Colin is such a legend
I had a crush on Peri growing up. She had great... talents that were on great display on the TARDIS.
Same. I hear a lot of talk about Leela having the greatest.... assets. 😊 But for me she wasn't a patch on Peri.
Bouncy bouncy
Oversharing to a gross degree 🌝
I like Vengeance on Varos
An all time classic!
1:49 . What is that sound 😂😂😂😂
I don’t know but I’m uncomfortable.

Its completely appropriate😄
It's not okay for the Doctor to shoot people, but it's okay if he causes people to fall into an acid bath LOL
Oh wait I have this one on dvd 📀 the women ends up being “Clara’s grandma” during Time of the Doctor. #11thdoctor last episode.
Not Colin Baker's best story but still a good watch.
Funny most people would say that this is his best story
@@wackywaa1458 really? isn't it considered that Revelation of the Daleks was his best one?
Probably his best due to its satirical theme.
The New Who crap Doctor at the end ruins it.
6th doctor
Badass.
Poor pusilanimous Peri!
Worst doc by far
