This show is the definition of animation being for everyone not just for kids, and not even for just adults. The fact that this show happened and that it will hopefully keep happening shows that with the right resources, animators and storytellers can do anything

A friend of mine was remarking how they wished that we had gotten a book that more directly addressed the immorality of the Infinity Train as a concept itself, and from the scenes we saw in Book 4, I'm almost 100% certain that this was where they were going to go with Book 5.
Amelia is very tech-minded, so naturally she'd want to figure out HOW the train she had just landed in works, and from what we've seen in Books 1 and 2, One pretty much is friendly with everyone regardless of "position" on the train so I think he'd really have no issue with Amelia tagging along with him. However, he is very VERY honest so I feel like the more questions Amelia asked, the more blunt his answers would be, leading Amelia to discover the unfairness with which the passengers are treated(Being locked to the train by gravity boots controllable at any time and not being allowed their own personal items, not to mention the traumatizing and life-threatening flaws of the "growth" system). I believe Amelia convinced One to allow things like giving the passengers back their belongings by reasoning with him like Lake did at the end of Book 2, but soon discovered that it was hopeless, and something horrifying must have happened that prompted her to take control for herself. This leads me to believe that the person confirmed to kill someone in Book 5 was actually One, and not Amelia. One states himself that "if they can't work through their problems they die here", and Amelia witnessing that robotic judgement firsthand would absolutely spew a horrified hatred for One One that she carries with her for the rest of her time on the train.
My theory is that she tried to destroy One One but just split him in half, and resulted to just sending him to a remote train car instead. The train's biggest schtick is "addressing your problems" and Amelia's tendencies are the exact opposite of that, living in denial and trying to create an escape through the technology of the train. She didn't get her number because she she was awful, she got her number because she used the train's power to "help" passengers, trying to create a better world for them but in reality just helping more and more people ignore their problems. No wonder the train didn't like that.
Oh, and this would add onto why One One feels the way he does about the unfinished car in Book 1- he doesn't just want to fix it because it's his job, he says "this wouldn't have happened if I had been better"- AKA if he had been more ethical in running the train to Amelia's standards, she wouldn't have taken over and messed everything up (not that he knows why yet)

@@baconbot62 while I don't think he would do it directly it's probably one one who kills someone because he is the conductor and if people die on the train that's its responsibility so technically he does indirectly kill a lot of people sometimes but that's just my logic maybe I'm wrong

Well If we see the show is going through fan support and fan advertising as CN didn't advertised it much for some reason. The pilot got greenlit because of fan support and keep getting more seasons because of fan support . So we could get book 5 with again fan support

I'm gonna assume everyone has thought of this but I'm gonna say it still. The very first episode of Book 4 is called *"The Twin Tapes"* where we see for the first time two passengers ride the train at the same time. And you wonder "What did Amelia to One that she was able to hack him?". Then it hits you, she used the idea of having twin tapes to create the twins, Glad One and Sad One. It makes sense. It answers the question "How does Min Gi and Ryan's story fits into all of this?" or the question "what made these two so special from other passengers that were also on the train during Amelia's overthrowing of One?".
The timing is just perfect. Min & Ryan's arrival on the train is what gave Amelia the idea/tool to split One in half, just like the drawing of Amelia they teased. In addition it also gives him two human emotions. *IT'S JUST GENIUS*

I’ve had that thought before. Before Book Four released I predicted that maybe Min-Gi and Ryan would meet One after he was exiled by Amelia, and their duality (hence the title, Duet) would somehow inspire him to create two separate personalities to keep himself company.

I really hope infinity train comes back. It's such a good show, it deserves to be complete!
I’m glad they’re bringing the show back but why are they only limited to kids and teens ? Young adults and adults can learn lessons too.

There are adults in the train. Amelia was an adult when she entered, and both the season 4 protagonists are 18. In Book 3, Grace mentions that one of the rules of their child cult is to never trust adult passengers.

we literally have children chapter books/graphic novels on both five nights at Freddy's and hello neighbor. which is being published by scholastic an kids publishing . which encouraging "children" to know more about the franchise. You also have Duckscare a spooky version of ducktales reimagining who the triplets on horror style adventures.

S4 wasn't bad or anything, but it really didn't do much new save for the unique art room car which hinted at passengers hsving fates worse than even Simon.

With all due respect, I think it's clear that it wasn't any 1 thing Amelia did that got her number that high. It was the decades she spent living in the past, obsessively trying to re-create Ulric instead of moving on. That she plundered and damaged the train, not caring that it left passengers with no clue how to get off. And she was willing to do whatever it took to keep her power over the train.
I am hoping that they will resolve what happened between Amelia and Hazel and with the ejecting cars. Maybe at last explain the origins of the train and how it works.
This sure is one epic Roundtable video about some epic new news.

My theory is that Amelia created the ghoms -flaw in creating Alric.
Doing so her number is going up (they are sucking the life out of the passengers -since she created them, it is her fault passengers are dying.) I think that is why her number is so high.
Also, I believe the back of the train -the caboose is being chased my hundreds of ghoms...
We've seen the front. I want to see the back.

That’s not how numbers work I think, I mean, it could be argued that it’s graces fault that simon died but still her numbers didn’t go up
Maybe the Turtle is a kind of symbolism for Amelia. She was so comfortable with her old life and with her husband. She was living in her shell and she was comfortable there. But her shell cracked when her husband died, and instead of trying to fill the hole that was made in her shell when her husband died, she is trying to build herself a new shell that’s exactly like her old one.
Amelia doesn’t realize that, like a turtle 🐢, as humans the identity of home (our “shell”) is something we take with us as we move through life. We only get one shell, and we can’t make another (just like a turtle). Now our lives, just like a turtle’s shell, can get dented and damaged as we move through life, but we each only get one shell. We can’t replace our Shells when our lives fall apart. We can only move on and grow into the shape that our shells take on as we go through life.
This is the revelation that will get Amelia’s number down to Zero.

I think for Amelia, the turtles represent her grief and guilt. The turtle handkerchief represents her grief around Alrick, and when it presumably got mixed into her train experiments, it tied all of these things she did into her grief. So the turtles also represent guilt, in the form of the damaged cars and genetic/denizen experiments. It might also mean her turtle denizen is the confirmed death that would happen next season, further tying the concept of grief and guilt to turtles.
The turtle might have been created by Amelia. In the style frame, Amelia has her jacket. But in the storyboards, Amelia has the turtleneck on her and One is present in an image where Amelia and the Turtle are also present. On the other page of the yearbook, Amelia and One are witnessing a turtle rebellion or something.
Then we have Book 4's first episode with Amelia in her turtleneck, with no turtle. It's possible the turtle might be in the Engine and Amelia didn't take it with her, but in the storyboards she has it on her shoulder most of the time.
Also, when Amelia plans to claw One out of the engine, the turtle is present. So I guess Amelia created turtles while One was still the conductor, then One got mad at her and apparently even immobilized her with his Steward according to the storyboards, after he sneaks up on her.
I wonder if the turtle's top might be even weirder than an 8 ball. Could have the glass and a human eye inside if it was based on Alrick's glasses and eye while Amelia wiped his sweat with the turtle handkerchief.
I see the turtle as a reference to Mr. President from Jojo.
Ironically enough I just watched that episode where they were sucked into the turtles stand lolz

I'll be honest... I'm probably the only fan who is not interested in Amelia's backstory...
But ignoring that fact, I have to say this:
At times I think that Book 5 wouldn't work, at least how Owen Dennis plans to do it, because of some reasons:
- Amelia taking over the train can be seen in a flashback, like Tulip and Grace's backstories. This also applies with the creation of Hazel and the unfinished trains.
- If Owen begins the tale when Amelia was young, then the tale would be rushed. Besides we know how this ends.
- That means that we also have to see Amelia interacting with Tulip (Book 1), Simon, Grace and Hazel (Book 3) again.
So... if Owen Dennis wants Amelia be the protagonist of Book 5, then... it's better if we see Amelia, since we last saw her: From Book 3, traveling with Hazel and focus on her future, while her past can be seen in flashbacks...
Just giving my honest opinion.

You're not alone. I think we already heard Amelia's story. Now I wanna know what happens to her and Hazel next, and the stories of other passengers.
the story doesn't need to rush to end when she's old, and I doubt it will. there's no reason to retread the stuff with tulip and apex or to even get anywhere close to modern day. my bet is that it'd end at the point where she takes over, which is ~30 years before tulip's story, give or take.
there are a lot of mysteries in the past that a prequel story would be perfect for. what made one split into one one? how did amelia convince one to give the passengers their stuff back? what kind of relationship did amelia and one have before her takeover? how does the train work? who made the train? how does the train choose passengers? what was the train like before amelia started messing with things? a prequel with amelia is perfect for all of that. the point of a prequel is rarely to find out how it ends, but the story of how things got to an end you already know
also I forget where I heard this, but I heard that a hazel + amelia story is also planned, just not for book 5
@@CinnamonWithATwist I'll be honest, like in Digimon, I can live without knowing who created the eponymous train, what's their purpouse, etc...
Another similitude I find between Infinity Train and Digimon, is that there's a bigger lore outside, but the videogames, animes or mangas (which, like Infinity Train are anthologies) never touch that subject or the questions of typical questions of: "Who made the digimons?", "What's their purpouse?", etc... those questions are rarely to never answered, instead they focus in the adventure of the different protagonists.
You don't need to have those questions answered to enjoy the show.
@@fernikart5724 that's fair. I don't know anything about digimon so I can't comment on that end, but I do feel like unlike a lot of other stories, the current structure of infinity train is pushing us towards asking those types of questions.
steven universe for example, everyone wanted to know, who made the diamonds? where did gems come from? which are reasonable questions to ask given the lore setup in the show, but the story structure in SU didn't really seem to point towards the answer to those questions being high on the priority list. the focus was more "these are what gems actually are, and that knowledge helps you understand the character motivations better". infinity train on the other hand drip feeds us juuust enough to be curious about how everything works, AND tantalizingly gives us a character that figured most of it out somehow.
that said, I'd be totally 100% fine with not learning all those questions I listed as examples in my last reply. tbh I'd rather not know /all/ of those things; I think knowing everything would take away some of the magic. I would still like to know at least /some/ of it though, especially the stuff that pertains to amelia and one's history together. I do genuinely think there is a great character focused story to tell there, even if we learned nothing else of how the train works
@@CinnamonWithATwist Yes, that's what I was saying, in Digimon (sorry for bringing it again) the profile of some of the digimons gives you hints about who could've created the digimons or their original, but never says anything explicit, it doesn't help that at times the anime, manga or videogames adapt the monsters differently. In one series, the digimons were created by X-group of people, but in other they can be created by the toughts of children, in other they were created by Y-group of people, etc... which causes, to ask "who created the prime universe of digimon?", is never answered, since each season, manga or videogame gives a different origin. Digimon is a multiverse anthology, so exist many Digital Worlds and many Earths, this is confirmed in a crossover, which makes you to ask, if exist an original Digital World and who created that? Is never answered and yeah, you can enjoy digimon without knowing that. You can try to make your own theories. And you can enjoy seeing the adventures of the different protagonists.
I thought the turtles was suppose to be like infinite regress. I don’t know if this was intentionally but it seems pretty fitting since the show is called infinity train.

I want Infinity Train to ACTUALLY be revived for season books 5 to 8 for Cartoon Network FOR REAL AND AND FOR GOOD ONE DAY!
From a distanced perspective, we saw how Amelia took over the Infinity Train in Book 4, but we ALSO saw how she didn't quite have a handle on how everything worked. As an Engineer, she likely had experience with technology and coding algorithms, but the sheer complexity of the Infinity Train is in a league of its own! Coding is NOT something that can easily be meddled with, and depending on how sensitive the algorithms are, even the slightest equation/number/digit/order out of place can have disastrous results (and sometimes, there's NO GOING BACK)!
In Book 3 2:39, Amelia mentions the turtles and the handkerchief, which partially reveals HOW her goal of "resurrecting" Alrick was "thwarted" by the Infinity Train's own coding and algorithms! Coding a denizen to look like Alrick would be extremely tough if Amelia was going by her own memories (i.e. there is NO "simple cut-and-paste" trick that would replicate Alrick from a recorded IMAGE from her memory tape). Even IF she could successfully code a denizen to LOOK like Alrick, the truth is that it would NEVER be the Alrick she loved (i.e. it wouldn't have his personality, his mannerisms, his speech patterns, his memories and experiences, etc.)! Her next option would've been to forcefully add Alrick's DNA into the Infinity Train algorithm, and the only thing that Amelia originally possessed when she entered the train would have been the TURTLE DECORATED HANDKERCHIEF! The problem was that said handkerchief was confiscated from Amelia the moment she boarded the Infinity Train, and One-One was the ONLY one with Administrative Privileges in order to give it back to her. This is WHY we see Amelia convincing (i.e. manipulating) One-One to give back ALL of the passengers' respective possessions in Book 4. Unfortunately for Amelia, the Infinity Train DIDN'T process Alrick's DNA as she had hoped when she scanned the handkerchief into the Infinity Train's code AFTER taking over the Infinity Train from One-One, but it DID process the pattern of TURTLES that was on it!

There is one other possibility that what we see of Amelia is that (other than Book 2) the episodes are going backward in the timeline from when Amelia was running the corrupted system to when she was working as part of the train crew to when she was just an ordinary passenger and leading to the creation of the train itself.

This might sound crazy but do you think the turtle died? The show's theme might be about grief so why not fit it with Amelia's companion also die? It could also explain the turtle thing around her. She wants to bring back her husband AND the turtle back...
