  • The reason Cartoon Network cancelled HBO Max's Infinity Train has been clarified after the release of Book 4 - and it's because higher ups felt Book 5 lacked an entry for younger viewers, despite the show appealing to all ages. Infinity Train was cancelled for being too mature. With the final season available and time to digest everything, let's talk about why this is a horrible decision, and why Infinity Train deserves an ending.

Animations is not only for children. It's not a genre meant for kids, it's a medium meant for storytelling.
This show is amazingly filled with potential. As long as it has stories to tell, they can stretch this concept and franchise as long as they want. With said stories, they are also able to branch out it's audience to a much older demographic.

Adventure Time had some very, very dark moments, and it was one of CN’s most popular shows. Steven Universe was emotionally mature, and it was popular too. Hell, Gumball and Regular Show were pretty mature! Mature animation doesn’t have a harder time finding success unless it’s interfered with by the higher-ups, and the notion that kids can’t enjoy it is pure idiocy. I’ve met kids that like Infinity Train, and of course I’ve met adults that like Infinity Train, and any age in between, so cancelling it is the biggest mistake they could make.

I feel like with 8 books we would've gotten Amelia's full story from the entrance to exit. I guess if that happens then she becomes the true protagonist of the show. Also, maybe Amelia is the character who doesn't want to leave the train because it's all she has left or that it's become home to her. Man, I hope that in a few months we'll get that Book 5 teaser outta nowhere.
