“Hopefully it’ll last until the cheque clears”! Made me roar! 😂Cracking video as usual Adam and great to see some good progress up to first lift. You must have had different weather to us in Herefordshire, it’s been persistently peeing down most days! ☔️ The videos will, I know, come when they come! Have a great Easter with the family mate and I hope all your eggs will be unfertilised! 😉

I honestly wouldn't worry about the comments saying you talk too much, blah blah blah. If you're telling a story, it's good to get backstory etc. I get comments like that myself (even though people watch my videos to learn lol). I generally ignore them and just do my own thing. At the end of the day it's your channel and you should run it how you want

Watching all the way from Australia. I’m finding it fascinating the differences you have compared to what we do, such as lack of water conservation 😂 I’m not in construction (I’m in healthcare), but these videos are great. What I think you should do, and please, this is with good intentions, is spruik your fundraising some more 😊 Your first video was such a success when you first launched the idea! Anyway, that’s my two cents worth 😂 keep these videos coming! Kat

Looks good. I would have left the insulation out of the wall facing the mud ramp part. If there is water ingress from the soil then the insulation will get wet and cause damp issues possibly.

I have had a lot of experience in full renovation etc and i brought one once with subsidence and had to knock the front side of the house down etc i just wished i had this builders number at the time
Its always a pleasure to watch professionals at work keep.
If anyone needs any extension work why hire the cowboys and loose most of your money when you could hire this chap who you can see his work is good so don't take the risk
There's a reason why some builders are a little bit more money but they work out cheaper in the end

It always amazes me, How complex 'Little Extensions' can be. Yet small Builders get over the problems. Ive done them and worked for the Big Boys as well. If some of the so-called Tier 1 contractors had to do them they would need to buy the houses on both sides just to take the Site Office staff!

    Enjoying this series.
Just a suggestion on the retaining wall.
Cross bonding the flat laid blockwork, tying the two leafs together would have greatly strengthen the wall.
Also helpful when laying flat to stack two courses which results in less cuting when joining the blockwork on edge.
Looking forward to the next episode 💪

Hello Kev, hope you're well mate. Can't argue with what you're saying at all. Haha! Cheers mate.

@@mrabuilders6723 It doesn't look like that slope will have vehicles travelling over it, so obviously that greatly reduces the potential lateral loading.
Ideally this depth of excavation would have some manner of Geo-tech/GI review but invariably the client won't pay for that so you just have to crack on.

As a structural engineer in Europe it is so strange to me that you use rock wool insulation below grade without water insulation. Here, below grade, we build the retaining wall, apply 2 layers of bitumen membrane which is heated onto the wall with one membrane going horizontal, one membrane vertical, ideally on the outside of the wall. We also use waterproof concrete additives below grade as an extra step. Then ofcourse we will install a french drain in a 400x400mm gravel bed at the foundation.
Below grade we use XPS sheets only for heat insulation until 600mm above grade, only above that we use rock wool but even that is not common, normally EPS sheets.
Do you not have problems a few years down the line with water seeping in?

Not a criticism as such as it's to regs, but I would never have put full fill fibreglass in that cavity on the retaining wall. Don't trust the stuff above ground tbh, certainly not below. I'd have gone blown bead personally, given outer leaf had to be first. Big up the west mids massive 👍

You think so? That's interesting. I've never used it so wouldn't really know but it's still way cheaper than mixing it.

Been a nice interesting project so far this one guys.
I won't give you tuppence for poxy Thermalite blocks though, haven't got a single good thing to say about them. I think the thermal benefit of them is outweighed in every way by Fibolite.
But I've enjoyed this project so far & looking forward to the rest of the project 🙂

Hi just found your channel, loving the content, I do the same sort of work in wales, how come in England you use a rock wool type insulation with no air gap? In wales it’s 75mm celotex cavity bats all the way,

Wow, this building is well over engineered. The architects and strutural engineer went over board on this job, but i do like how you do things correct and never cut corners ...
