Day Two of our Cirrus to Airventure Formation Flying clinic training.
Something that pilots can learn from formation training is discipline, SOPs, communication, and rehearsing the formation flows. This is all essential to avoid aerial close calls or collisions.
The first part of this video covers the important pre-flight/sortie brief. This is a critical time to understand who is leading, who is following, what the maneuvers will be, and covering contingencies like weather, traffic or mid-air collisions.
