The game’s been in development for over 4 years now (2 years pre adquisition) I don’t think it has anything to do with “help offset the loss from putting it on GP. Mw2 and MW3 was developed cross Gen as well.
I think the PS4 should have been left behind completely at least a year ago. When big titles are still put on PS4, the people over there wont feel the need to upgrade.
120m ps4s out there.. that's quite a big install base

I used to be those people complaining "Why is this game still on last gen, it's going to hold the game back!"
but with the amount of next gen only games coming out with good graphics but bad performance or even games with bad graphics AND bad performance. I kinda don't mind if a game comes to last gen anymore, it will probably run better than the next gen only games were getting nowadays.
With fsr3 frame gen coming to console we may be soon leaving perceptual bad performance behind. Immortals of aveum seems like a real promising thing
@@MrInuhanyou123 I saw that too and it sounds like it ran decently on immortals of aveum. but although frame gen helps boost framerates, it does not fix unstable framerates, stutters and bad frame pacing
@@michaeljohn5130 i mean it sounds like it helps uneven fps. Immortals on console barely ever sticks to 60fps. But now with framegen it gives a 60fps or better presentation according to DF. Yes is not perfect but it seems to solve about 70 to 80 percent of the issues. Critically with low input lag which would otherwise ruin the whole idea
All Sony exclusive 1st & 3rd party games have performance modes stop listening to Xbox RUclipsrs you missing out Xbox fans are the only ones settling for 30 fps or its third-party even the 3rd party devs are improving performance on PS5

If you're a fan of next Gen and moving forward....this has to be a bummer. Instead of focusing on the game running at it's very best on the X and PS5....the devs have to make a version that works on the S and PS4.
It'll get even worse next gen when the Series S still needs to be supported during that cross gen period.

I upgraded right at release of horizon forbidden west and I had to have my brother get it for me cause of his connections. At that time it was still pretty tough to get. At least for me
Helldivers 2, Stellar Blade, Hellblade 2, Dragon's Dogma 2, Final Fantasy Rebirth, Final Fantasy 16, Spider Man 2. There are lots of current-gen only games. But do exclusives sell consoles anymore?
I have an xbox One Console and I'm excited for bo6 on gamepass. However I'm not sure if mircosoft could put bo6 on the Xbox one they they only did do it for only on the series x s then I'll be Hella disappointed
Sony is actually going to make more off COD than they have in recent years. They arent footing the marketing bill and I think the split goes back to 70-30. Sony gave activision a better split.
Sony got 30% cut from cod its xbox that only got 20% cut
One the one hand it sucks that the next cod won't push the hardware performance but at the same time I can get how it makes the most sense for MS to keep raking in all that cayash. Also gives room for the new PS shooters to push boundaries since CoD cannot.
Prople really kill me when they get mad old gen gets games. You can’t just abandon old gen. CoD coming out on Ps4 is surprising but as soon as a new console drops people immediately go “don’t you dare make a version for old gen” which is wrong.
There also really hasn’t been much on Ps5 exclusively to make people jump to buy it. As much as i love spiderman and GoW those are single player games and not a lot of replay value. I mostly play PC and hop on my PC for single player stuff because thats all Sony cares to make. AAA multiplayer games does not seem to be their focus.
I still think they need to extend console lifespans from 8 years to 10 years for each Generation of Consoles, the Xbox One and PS4 era was completely too short in my opinion it was way too short of time for last gen consoles. It would just give players more time to enjoy the consoles.
Microsoft makes the wrong choice well at least they are consistent.

Black Ops 3 was the last COD to hit the PS3. I suspect that BO6 will be the final 8th generation COD.

Maybe Xbox sees the huge percentage on PS4 and is using COD in GamePass to attract the Madden/2K/COD crowd to think about a series console instead of ps5. It’s probably unlikely to work given digital libraries but the barrier for entry is definitely cheaper and I’m sure money is a big reason why they haven’t upgraded yet.

If Call of Duty is "held back" by last gen hardware, it could be an opportunity for a next gen shooter. Somehow, I doubt it will make one bit of difference.
The reason gamers aren't upgrading is because why would they when apex fornite warzone etc are last gen until fortnite says no more old gen then nothing will change
How is it that 4 years, we still get games that fail to take full advantage of the next gen?
Because of the chip shortage during COVID made getting a current gen system difficult for alot of people. This generation has started much later than normal.
First, games cost too much to make. Second, pubs see service based games make a lot more money than big games that show off games

@@alexandersmith6869 unfortunately they want minimal investment for high return...it sad state of affairs. Insomniac wanted to make smaller games and pitched the idea to Sony but we don't know how that went. I am for it since games would take less money, cost less and also be more interesting. Not every game needs to be 60 hour open world with tons of contents.

Games are being held back by the GTX 1650 (the second most popular GPU on Steam). Only 16% of people have upgraded to the RTX 3060! Why bother buying an RTX 4090 when there are no games exclusive to it?
Why do you think cod on switch won't be big when cod mobile is the biggest cod money maker and biggest player base. Also casual players will buy gp for cod. Cod in gp will hurt nothing when its live service game money will be spent on skins and battle passes. Also some people will buy move over when they can buy a series s and gp sub bundle for like 250.

I just hope call of duty remains on PlayStation forever this would suck if it doesn’t come. They do need to ditch ps4 and Xbox one it’s time to move on.
There is no way you’re still hung up on that🤦♂️. My guy this point has been over and done with for a good while. They were never making it exclusive. Call of duty, overwatch, diablo and other gigantic franchises are multiplatform in nature. No one is gonna cannabalise their ip.
