I was a utility stand-in on MI2. I never spoke with Cruise directly, but I noticed he was very hard working, polite to everyone, and driven. He had everyone's respect including Billy, the second unit director.
On a professional level because that’s all that matters when it comes to his movies, there is no one who works harder, who puts all of his passion and love into something. All so that we are entertained then Tom Cruise, period.
I do believe his job specifically not any other actor but his is as hard as fighting in a war for the reason of sheer fucking risks that he takes on regularly! Guy is literally insane for training that hard for stunts when he can just let professionals do them!😮

I was an extra on Rain Man. We worked a long day with Tom Cruise. At least on that day he was professional and very serious but was kind to everyone. He came to the extras and crew several times and thanked us for our patience. We were filming a bank scene after the sun went down and apologized to us for the long day. I mentioned that most banks are closed by dark, at least in the 1980's and he laughed and asked the director why were were filming after dark and they called it a wrap.

NOBODY hates Tom Cruise. It might be difficult to keep up with the most driven and intense worker on the planet, but everyone appreciates the opportunity to work with a legend.
Brad Pitt couldn’t deal with the fact that Tom acted circles around him, Pitt had expected to be the star of the movie but he was dull and shallow in comparison to Tom’s Lestat. Tom MADE the movie. I was an extra on War of the Worlds. Tom was very gracious with us all, and he never showed any signs of diva behavior. I was intimidated about being on set at first because I heard he was a jerk, but he genuinely surprised me with his warmth. He was also a bit taller than I expected.

Interview with a Vampire was a excellent movie because of Tom Cruise. TC was the star, his talent overshadowed co actors Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas, etc. That was the film that gave him respect with the audience because he did not play it safe by playing the commercial Tom Cruise. Even in Rock of ages it was great to see him sing.

My personal opinion, Tom Cruise and an 11-year old (sic!) Kirsten Dunst acted circles around Brad Pitt, who was like a piece of wood in that movie (very handsome piece of wood admittedly). I'm not surprised Pitt hated the experience, he was completely out of his league as an actor performing against Cruise and Dunst and he probably felt it all the way through. But tbh he got much much better over the years, so I don't really hold it against him. He is a quick learner. But yeah, Tom Cruise and Kirsten Dunst performances made this movie great for me.

I've worked in the industry, and I've never heard anyone say anything bad about him. Everyone always he was the nicest guy. Leah Remini was my neighbor back in the day. (Oddly, the brother of a guy I dated was the retired cop who spied on her for the Church of Scientology.) But I believe her about Tom and his place in Scientology.

Agreed. But if someone comes along and simplifies some person's spiritual beliefs, I say listen to them. People have drawn upon their spiritual practices for their jobs in life. I always had a huge crush on Tom. I always tell my husband, "If I ever met Tom Cruise, I wouldn't be able to stop grinning." He truly affects me that way. He shouldn't have left Nicole but she is happy now and has a wonderful husband. I would still (at age 68) love to talk to Tom Cruise. I love his intensity and his passion for life.

Cult membership isn't surprising at this level. In a sense, Tom is used by that 'church' too as are all devout followers of all religions. But a handful of people competing in the same industry for the limelight and same top jobs is hardly a reliable study and dataset upon which to judge a fellow competitor. Tom clearly suits being single and focused on what he does best: film making. As a gerontologist, I'm fascinated and inspired by those who defy traditional expectations of aging. It's weird to think we were sat in the same restaurant (Lovage in Bakewell, Derbyshire, England) on Sunday 10th 2024 where Tom was just a few days prior. Mi8 should be great.

Brad told in an interview: He hated shooting of the Interview with a vampire, cause shooting place was too dark, too wet, too closed and those contactlens...blablabla. Paul here. I was a stunt man in the bedroom for him a few times. He was always trying to cater to me asking if I needed water, foot massage etc. although I could never figure out why him and I were the only two oiled up in their for several hrs. very professional 10/10 would recommend

And if I were a rather unknown actor working on a TC film, I'd probably like him a lot, because that movie is a cinch to be a hit, and that means I would be a cinch to get exposure to millions and my acting status is a cinch to be elevated. I remember tom going nuts over covid on a movie set. (I've never liked him at all btw). He has a part that makes him do good things. He didn't realized his screaming tape was revealed to the public. He was angry because people weren't practicing good covid restrictions. He was angry because if he got coivid its fine for him.
