in my opinion Audrey and Luna are the BEST dressed characters in the show, plus Monet. But Audrey has something that makes her shine more, maybe 'cause she has more screentime, so we are familiar with her struggles and personality. bravo to the stylist. and to you, fancy edit and good analysis.
Her styling both makes sense characteristically and is bold and accentuating. I think most characters are one or both but also don't feel risky. You'd think a preppy look would feel safe but somehow her styling is not. I'm really hoping there is a bit of an overhaul with the rest of the costuming when the series comes back, it was either really good or really dull.
I think it relates to her relationship with Aki, as it softens her and adds to her complexity. We understand that Luna and Monet are power seeking in their own ways, and their personalities, style, and actions reflect that--they are very singular. Audrey has complexity in her styles, especially while she is at home, the hospital, and at school. She is okay with being vulnerable and undone, while Luna and Monet stray sharply from that. I love Audrey, and feel she is the most relatable character.
Loved this analysis! People love to demonise her more than other characters but they forget she’s meant to do questionable things and she’s meant to make mistakes. She’s been pushed to grow much older than she is trying to be her mother’s caretaker and it muddies her own growth as a young girl.

This is my humble request that you analyze Luna La's style for your next GG video (after Monet, because I know you're working on that one, and on the assumption that this will be an ongoing series!) because I've done all the googling I can, and it's a shame how underrated and under-reported her style is.

gooood the content is SO great but it’s so difficult to appreciate the videos because i just want the narrator to shut up 😭 it’s so ironic how the narrator speaks about high society people yet talks like this. like imagine sounding like this in front of the kennedys or the rothschilds . . . embarrassing. the narration also makes it difficult to tell when sentences start and when they end. the monotone combine with the vocal fry and random pauses is so confusing. when does a thought start and when does it end! the best way to watch these videos is on mute with the captions on.
I appreciate your insights, and your videos look very polished and beautiful. You have a lovely voice too, but the way you sometimes finish sentences - saying the last word in sentence for so long - it is rather distracting and unnatural, to me, at least.
I feel like Audrey is the only one that was properly "modernized" while still keeping it classy. She's the only one I feel that is actually rich. A lot of the characters dress corny as hell.
