My favorite study spot is the one at the courtyard of Art Building. There is a huge chair with outlets powered by solar panels. There are also some other similar desk near SRB and HSSB courtyard.
Studying outdoors is definitely something that is pretty unique in Santa Barbara consider the weather over there!

I haven’t been to the Art Building yet! Maybe I can do a whole video on exploring study spots because it’s so cool to see all of the different ones 😊 Thanks Steve !!

Hi! I just got accepted to UCSB as pre-bio major. Can you recommend a residence hall closer to the science buildings and which dining hall is better? I heard that manza is very nice but it's too far from bio/chem building.

How is UCSB one year later?

It's called FT because the name of the dorm used to be Francisco Torres! It's literally just the name of the dorm. It sounds like it's called something else now, so people forgot the origin? That's hilarious. But we shortened everything - we call Isla Vista "IV", De La Guerra, DLG (midnight snack), San Rafael, San Raf, San Nic... If you have any other questions, just ask! Class of 87 here.
Sorry, I disagree about being "lonely" in a single :). I lived in a single and I made plenty of friends. It's pretty much impossible to not make friends in a dorm environment. It's your first time as an adult with no supervision and you're surrounded by thousands of kids your age. No other time in your life will you experience this. Of course you'll make friends. And they will become your bridesmaids, best men ...
But I'd be really interested to know if Korean kids still play basketball at the outdoor basketball court by the tennis courts (next to Rob's Gym) at 3:00 PM on Friday. It's a tradition we started. It would be so cool to know that they're still doing that :).
btw, thank you for making this video and taking me down the memory lane. Keep it up, before you know it, you'll have million subscribers :). Imagine if all UCSB alumni subscribed to your channel!

That is so interesting, I guess I will keep calling it FT! I might want to live in a single next year because I heard being an RA isn’t bad either with all of the perks. And maybe this Friday I can check that out hahaha fun fact: I’m half Korean-half Japanese
I can’t believe you are Class of 87! That is so cool, thank you for keeping up with my channel and for all of the support 😊 Hopefully the UCSB content brings back a lot of great memories!

Hello, My son was accepted UCSB for Economics.
He wants to know if he can change his major from economics to engineering ones he admitted and will it take him to get his degree one more year?

Yes, you can change your major :) I don’t know about the time to get his degree, I think it is case by case. Congratulations to your son !!
