TikTok brain rot people cried how it’s dragged manga reader wise. I feel like people today media is lost on em. It’s all either it is what I think it should be or it’s bad. 😮
An important thing people don't mention is that Dabi's tearducts were burned and he could only cry blood. But in this moment, he cried real tears. In a literal sense, it probably was just the ice melting, but in a symbolic sense, it shows he was finally able to let out his emotions instead of building it all up inside him to explode. Because his family was finally there for him, to hear him.
Originally Stain deemed Tenya a fake hero because he was blinded by revenge and didn't even worry about the hero that was in the alley. But now it's clear that Stain sees his growth and sees him as a hero! 😌❤️
It was already hinted at that Stain was hesitating when facing basicaly children and did not fought as well as he could have, so I think that he knew that his philosophy does not fully work when faced with the younger generation that can still change. Imo he should have just left them alone even if he thought that Iida wasn't acting like a heroe should in that moment.
Iida's line about how "he decided that the reason why he got his wark is to help lost children finds their way home" hits so damn hard man! Their friendship is amazing!
Patrick Seitz did an amazing job as Endeavor. Blind Wave's seen a lot of dubbed anime but they also have never seen/heard Patrick Seitz like that ❤️😭🥲. Awesome job👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
the fact that toya imagines young shoto without his scar in the end cause he never saw him without the bandage until they met again when he was a teenager 😭
The moment he discovered that there was ice in Toya’s chest, to me it was that moment where endeavor knew that this was like really his fault for Giving up on Toya I what he could do with his quirk only at the consolation that it would Destroy and burn out his whole skin of his body. For endeavor, who could blame him from the weakness he had of how he was afraid a failure and avoiding it instead facing his mistake Which was understandable since he was a father
I see there’s people saying it already but I’ll explain it a bit further lol. There’s officially 25 episodes this season but only 21 episodes of the actual current storyline. Before season 7 started on May 4th (for sub watchers) there were 4 “memories” episodes that aired the whole month of April, basically recaps with a small bit of new anime canon. @@narukunn5152why😭 I remember in an old reaction all for one used like 5 different quirks at the same time and marketa says “he can only use one quirk at a time right?”

Wonderful reaction, you guys. I was crying right along with you. Cried when I watched it last week too. Such a beautifully sad but still hopeful episode. I also really liked the double meaning of "I Am Here" because I was thinking of it as Toya saying it to his family and them finally seeing him but I like y'alls interpretation better of they were all there for each other.
"I am here" is such a perfect title for the reasons Rana said, but also for Shoto (the original title was Shoto Rising) because becoming a hero like All Might was the dream he had with his mom, and lost after he became lost in rage and revenge against his Endeavor. He always talks about how he needed to catch up to his peers, so the fact that his own hero, All Might, entrusted him in this moment, must have been such an important moment for him.
This eng dubbing was very well done in this episode. I don't care if it's japanese or other dubbing, if the expression is correct, I'm fucking watching it.
I wish you guys didn't cut so much of Endeavor's speech at the end. Would've loved to see your reaction to the entire sequence of him apologizing to each family member. That was the best scene in the episode.
At 11:57 I have to say for dabi/toya it’s just hard to believe he keeps thinking about destroying everything even when he got the attention he wanted, because it really showed the kind of villain he is Because he was based on the craze goal of endeavor of being the best the perfect successor And he was gonna keep flaming on no matter what it takes or how he takes it
At 12:05 shows that He really is suffering through his defeat knowing that this was not what he really wanted and now he’s going to keep living with whatever Time he has left hearing the apologies of his father and the share of emotion of words of his family which to Toya/dabi is way beyond too late. I mean, what can I say in life it’s never too late to talk about how you’re feeling and the struggles you’re dealing with and the people that still care about you
Ima be fr, I personally didn’t really cry or tear up during this episode. Even so, the writing and directing here was amazing! Great animation, great final resolution (maybe? Idk. I don’t read the manga) between the todaroki family, great emotional depth, etc. definitely an easy 10/10 imo. Fully caught up to this anime after 2 weeks and yeah idk how I put it off for so long, but yeah people who haven’t watched this should definitely at least give it a try. Cuz this season was peak

This season proved that MHA knows how to do the important emotional stuff right. It doesn't have fancy fight choreography but it's at its best with eliciting damn good emotional beats.
I love this episode and the Todoroki family in general. Endeavor sees that Touya on the brink of death is able to utilize Rei's quirk. This isn’t some sign that Touya was the son Enji wanted all along. This is showing Endeavor, "Hey, look. Touya's quirk is finally what you wanted it to be. But your son had to be pushed to the brink of death to make it happen. Was it really worth it?" Everything that Endeavor has ever wanted is slapping him in the face because of how much it hurt his family. So he prepares to take the hurt and vanish along with Touya. Except that doesn't happen. Unlike with Hood and AFO, Endeavor isn't allowed to burn away with a Prominence Burn. Endeavor's arc is about atonement. Death is the easy way out for him. Actually facing what he's done is much harder. Rei felt that she also failed Touya. So she saves both him and Endeavor. The rest of the family has had their chance to hear Endeavor's apology and atonement. Touya has not. So Endeavor is not allowed to die. Speaking of Touya, he finally has the attention of the entire family but it has to be under such cruel circumstances. He wishes it could've happened sooner and thinks that he doesn't want to die yet. There are still moments he wants to experience. But he still hates Endeavor. And a part of him still hates what living represents. So he pours those feelings out and tells how he really feels. And Endeavor listens. Endeavor watches Touya and embraces his emotions. Two things he didn't do when Touya was a kid. This path forward wasn't forged just because of Shoto. It wasn't forged just because of Endeavor and Rei. But all of the family coming together.
It’s not about forgiveness or redemption endeavor is doing atonement. He knows what he did and is not asking them to forgive and forget he’s asking them to know that he will live his life doing good to gone and never get that forgiveness unless they want to. They aren’t forced to. I think when people call my hero trash writing and how one piece or etc is better they overlook the good stuff and focus on the goofy colorful powers etc. 😢
That was the first time dabi shed tears after his accident because he burnt his tear ducts so everytime he wanted to cry, blood would drop out from where his tear shouldve.
It's ok, your body doesn't have to move like Deku's or Death Arms' did. You can be like Kirishima, who froze at first but who is still the most chivalrous hero!
The villains have almost children aged people fighting for their dreams. The heroes need that too im sure. Its a war here, no point in keeping them away if they wont be able to see a bright future later
This season has been an emotional train wreck for me, as someone who can unfortunately relate to the Todoroki family. It's just been shattering me seeing a broken family try to save themselves and the son who abandoned them. This show is so good, I'm not ready for the rest.
Toya unlocking an ice quirk on the verge of death is a very haunting idea. It shows Endeavor that he could have gotten everything he wanted from his first child. But, he had to risk that child’s life in order to achieve his dream. He had a choice. He could either have his son or his dream. Not both. Shows the extent of Endeavor’s failures with his family. It took all of them together to stop Toya. Not even Shoto’s Great Glacial Aegir was enough to stop Toya alone. It took all of the Todoroki clan coming together to neutralize all of that heat and save all of those people. The Masegaki kids were right to put their trust into Five Wee Wees 😁 Also Iida achieving transonic speed equivalent to a fighter jet was amazing. He needed Shoto to constantly produce ice to reduce resistance then needed Shoto to create a layer of air with his heat to reduce friction in order to achieve that speed, but the feat is nonetheless impressive. Love the quirk combos 🤩
25* including memories the 4 recap episodes that you guys skipped so the last episode of the season is episode 21 which came out the same day as this dub episode
I think Endeavor dying would be too easy of a way out. I like that he's forced to live with his decisions and his regret instead of getting some heroic sendoff he doesn't deserve.
I love that Endeavor didn’t die to redeem himself. Having one big moment where a character sacrifice to redeem can be good, but for me this better for Endeavor. He doesn’t just get one big moment to atone, but rather he has to live on and continue to atone for his actions to his family. That is the harder path, because he has to live with his actions and all he can do is try to make it up to the people he hurt. Now it is up to his family to decide if will forgive him or not. That is what I love about the Todoroki family storyline. It is nuanced. We have Natsu who expressed why he cannot forgive his father or Fuyumi who wants to forgive her dad and heal. Both are valid and the story never demonizes one side for wanting what they want. The entire family coming together to stop Dabi was the right ending. Everyone has strong opinions on this storyline and the characters in it. All I will say is I feel bad for Dabi and Endeavor, while still holding them accountable for their actions. I hope this comment does spiral down into arguments over who is at fault.
