Great seeing this again! This pairing of Alice with the great Helen Hayes was a TV generation gap bridging on a par with David Bowie singing with Bing Crosby. And Alice acquitted himself nicely here. He does a great job as the witch/performer. 🔮✨📺
This was broadcast on March 5th 1974. Alice played Prince. Never heard of this show before and I never knew this footage existed so I had to check. Rare as hell, I'd say. Very cool stuff.
I remember "The Snoop Sisters" with Mildred Natwick and Helen Hayes - seen here talking to Alice Cooper. At the time Alice Cooper was banned from coming to Australia. How times have changed.
Thank you for putting this up. I'd watch "The Snoop Sisters" when it came on , but , I only ever saw the episode with Alice , once. This , and the one with Vincent Price ,were my favorites. I remember Alice not having a band in this scene. This was probably right after the original Alice Cooper Group called it a day , or maybe , the network did'nt want to pay the others.... Alice is actually pretty good here. Reminds me a bit of John LaZar in "Beyond The Valley of The Dolls".
First time I've seen this in 43 years! The airing of this episode was a highly anticipated event for us 7th graders who talked about it for days before and days afterward. Thanks for posting.
Heh...I must be about the same age...It was so rare to see people like Alice on television that I would actually cut out the little episodic blurbs from T.V. Guide and paste them in a scrapbook: "Tonight: The Snoop Sisters (NBC). Special guest - Alice Cooper"...
Thanks for posting this! It seems it was about Halloween 1974, when this was on TV! I was 14! Believe it or not this was my first exposure to Alice!!! I remember Morlock! "Oh great horned master, protect me from disaster, & on my enemies head let there fall Plaster!" Or" only fools ascend a stair when Morlock isn;t even there!" hastily puts on his witches" wig & tries to hide his beer! LOL!
Thanks for the posting! The beginning of when the Coop went Hollywood... kind of like how Ozzy, 'The Godfather of metal' went Hollywood and looked like a comical schmuck...
Boy, THERE is a couple of great bar-trivia bets!! Which spoke of the NBC Mystery Movie wheel was Alice on? When did Alice Cooper and Helen Hayes act together? Fantastic
This was kind of the beginning of the end for Alice (or when Alice jumped the shark) this show was popular with the grandma types and then he started doing Hollywood Squares and such. He lost the hipsters of the 70's generation. I love everything he did up until Lace and Whiskey and he's still great in concert I saw him last year.
Yep, that and when he parted way with the band was the beginning of the end for me. I even hung on during lace and whiskey, you know hoping for scraps of the real Alice. F-ing Hollywood ruins everything.
alphadogstudio His blackout period is very underrated. Flush the fashion, Special forces and Dada all have brilliant songs but for some reason are not well known.
+Keely Anne You're absolutely correct. Pedantic but correct. Lol. ;) I'll see if i can edit the description to correct the mistake. Thanks for the heads up.
His father was a pastor so he was always brought up in the church. He even spoke on how he went to his old pastor after the start of his sobriety asking his opinion on if he should put the makeup back on and get back on stage because he had fears that the Alice character would trigger him to drink again and thought that his theatrics was the reason he drank so much and continued to play the character that should only exist on stage out on the streets
My favorite Alice Cooper song!
How Sick!

Thanks so much for posting!! I saw this when I was 8 and I fell in love and decided I was going to marry Alice Cooper. : )
You should marry me! I became Alice Cooper in 1973 when I was 11.
Me too!
I’m sure all the bad girls of the 70s wanted to marry him lol
I remember watching this on TV. Snoop sisters.
Yes. The most memorable tv show I loved as a kid of 9yrs. This is why I am a big fan of the Cooper. Thank you for the memory.
I was 9 also and still a huge fan as well :-)
This was the first time I saw Alice Cooper! I was 5 years old and he scared the shit out of me! Lol
lol that’s kind of his job. But understandable at 5 years old 😂

this is my favourite Alice song of all time. The first industrial music imo. Genius

Alice Cooper 4 president 2020 the wild party
I remember making my parents watch this show when they didn't like it because Alice was on it. My mom left the room.

saw it in 74 as well and have never been able to find it since. TY TY :-)
Wow look at this, my favourite Alice song. Brilliant he looks so pretty ❤️❤️
I watched this in '74 -- mostly for Alice. Delightfully silly. Needless to say, such stuff has nothing to do with the real scene. Just good fun.
was 14 when i saa that show.those were the days we thought they'd never End.

I remember seeing this on tv when I was about 6. If I remember right, this was an NBC Mystery Movie.
This was my first introduction to Alice Cooper, way back in '74.

I saw the FTF tour. It just wasn't the same without his classic Alice persona.
I couldn't agree more, he had shot his wad at this point...
Wasn't "Snoop Sisters" part of The NBC Mystery Movie roundup? NOT affiliated with ABC at all.

Alice Cooper 😘👌🤘💓
Amazing stuff
Cool, never seen this before. Funny that AC sounds like Gene Wilder when he speak softly.
Gary Biggs Alice Cooper appeared on a episode of Something Wilder, as Gene’s celebrity neighbor.
Alice Cooper says he is now A Born Again Christian? if so Hallelujah!!
His father was a pastor so he was always brought up in the church. He even spoke on how he went to his old pastor after the start of his sobriety asking his opinion on if he should put the makeup back on and get back on stage because he had fears that the Alice character would trigger him to drink again and thought that his theatrics was the reason he drank so much and continued to play the character that should only exist on stage out on the streets
is it me or does it seem like alice cooper sounds like gene wilder from willy wonka when he is talking to the old lady ?
Wow...Never caught that...Dead ringer...
Thank you. Is the full episode anywhere to be found?
Awesome
This is one Alice Cooper song that I just did not care for.
the first time i see this video
Me to
And me too
Wow. What can be said,
Beginning of the end for the original band... Alice wanting be an actor 🙄...then after all that... years later...he returns to what made him famous...
I want to go to a bar and see Alice, push that old lady out of the way and sing "Sick Things" and become mesmerized by Alices good looks
Why was Alice a witch and not already a warlock? Confused
The audience is luded out.
Kiss were on Rhoda
Oh shit! Did we ever look forward to this when I big bad ass 13 year old
