You're so very welcome and thank you Ruth for those kind words....He is greatly missed, but he left us many wonderful songs!! Love to listen to him!!
~Marianne...
To the man that wrote "Seven Bridges Road" I tip my hat. I closed my own hearts door 23 years ago.
I believe those shots of Steve performing were from an episode of the Nashville Now show, hosted by Ralph Emery on the old Nashville Network. He also appeared on an episode of Bobby Bare and Friends
Love it....my style of music.
Thanks for this posting. It brings back a memory of going to the Exit Inn in Nashville two times, supposedly to hear Josh Graves. Both times, Josh gets into his set, looks out at the audience and says, "Well what do you know! There's a friend of mine in the audience tonight. Let's see if he'll come up and sing one." It's Steve Young and he comes on stage, hooks his thumbs in his belt loops and sings all evening and wow! he was good! Thanks for the memory.
Great voice and fine musicians ! Very many thanks, Marianne. Wishes. JO
Hi Marianne,
Thanks for posting this song and others like "The Whole World" by my brother Steve, he did a great job on this song. I've always really liked this old song and sing it myself. By the way I sang the harmony on this tune and others on some of his recordings. We get a great family blend. Take care, Kim
kimsings wow
Hi Kimsings, I saw your brother every time he played in Houston. I saw him about 7 times over about 10 years. He told me you did the harmony on Rock Salt and Nails and also on Alabama Highway. I’ve got all but one of his albums/CD’s and most of them are autographed. His passing really hit me he was a great human being.
@@stormryder811 Hello! Thanks for your commenst. I'm glad you could see Steve play as often as you did. He was a great live performer. Some of his recordings are rather hard to come by now, so it's cool that you have them. We miss Steve a lot of course but his music lives on! If you haven't, check out his son, Jubal Lee Young, he's a great one too. Take care.
Oh boy I missed your comment, shame on me lol!! :) Thank you my dear friend!! You are Great too Mr Jack!! Glad you enjoyed it!! I can't get enough of this tune!! lol...Have a great weekend!!
~Marianne...
Great sing, great video and a great share Marianne.

You are so very welcome Anton...I am very glad that you liked it! Yes it is easy to recognize Ol' Hank's influence here as well..You are clever and know your music lol!!!! Smiles, MH and every Best Wish!!
~Marianne
This is sooooo good!! And I love the title I Closed My Heart's Door from an album called No Place to Fall. Very, very bittersweet and poignant and just darned good.
Steve Young is a pretty good singer, & enjoyed hearing his music.
Respectfully,
Roy Talley
Thank you so much for your kind comment Roy Talley, so appreciated!!.... I'm very glad you can enjoy his music...He's in my top 5 most favorite singers for sure ....TY!! :)
~Marianne....
+Marianne Menon Steve Young is ONE OF THE BEST for sure. It took me seeing him in concert (on multiple occasions, thankfully) to fully appreciate his artistry - his voice, his playing, his song-writing, and his selection of songs to cover. A national treasure. Sadly, his health is failing I understand. Prayers.
Marianne this is superb I have always loved this song. You are so right the "Waylon Beat" is unmistakable and listen for a bit of "Old Hank" in there too. Thank you, this is a quality upload, very well done, Every good wish, Anton aka Whiskerydick
@1952banjo lol...Thank you Virginia! ...Could dance to this tune all day!!! lol...
i miss you Steve
I miss him too..top of the food chain imho.
IMO Steve young had the best voice of the writers. I mean, I know Guy Clark, Townes van Zandt, John Prine, Kris Kristofferson etc all were years ahead of ANYTHING WE HAVE NOW, but Steve's voice just slams.
Agreed wholeheartedly...
Absolutely! No where can you buy his cds?
@@timothytouhey6505 You Will Find All Of His CDs On Discogs !!
Waylon is my personal favorite, but there's no doubt he had loads of respect for Steve. Lonesome onry and mean was written by Steve, but Waylon killed singing it-a perfect match.
everything this man touched turned to pure gold. quality work and art. what a voice
Miss him
Me too!
