We have a recipe like this from my dear departed mother-in-law. We hadn’t tried it for many years. This summer I made it with peppers from our garden and we loved it again. After that I roasted more poblano and Anaheim peppers, chopped them, and froze them in recipe size bags so it is easy to whip up anytime.
This is a wonderful recipe. I just pulled it out of the oven! It's beautiful and smells delicious. I have been searching for a recipe like this for years! Thank you. 5 stars!

Mine too! My first choice at a restaurant. But I like a Chile Relleno smothered in Tex-Mex gravy with cheddar melted all over the top. Maybe it's a south Texas thing. I have to make this recipe once before judging. But I can't see smothering it in gravy. I think it will be WONDERFUL without it.

Just happened to find your channel. I make this casserole like this also. Sometimes I use cornstarch in place of the flour...add bacon, sausage, smoked sausage, etc and it's delicious.
I have never made chili rellenos but I like them. Other recipes have made me pass on the grilled chilies part; but in this recipe you made it look easy. Thank you both for this new recipe❣
Roasting them on a cookie sheet in an oven (set to broil) for about 5-8 min watch carefully. Flip and roast the other side remove the skin. Perfect roast.

if you char/skin the peppers the night before, you could whip this up for breakfast in aboot 2 cups of coffee.
