@@Davidjon1946 If Burrow and Mahomes both stay healthy and both stay with their teams, yes I could see Cincinnati/Kansas City potentially reaching this level based on their epic games against each other the past two seasons.
Thank you for the compliment….I produced this with pat….wrote all the scripts…he was the best and very meticulous about his reads….love and miss them both….
One of the best games in NFL Playoffs history. I was sick after this one, but you have to give Frisco their credit. They were built with talent this year.
I remember being so sad my Cowboys weren't going to go for three in a row. Both teams made mistakes this day, both fought like champions, San Fran was just better that day. Hated it, haha!
Dallas fired their HOF head coach before the season and replaced him w/ a pumpkin.. and then started this game w/ 3 straight turnovers and down 21-0 on the road in Candlestick. The fact they did all that and still made a competitive game out of this shows just how ungodly dominant they were during this time. This rivalry was just awesome.
They certainly gave away those first 21 points before they woke up. Its such a bittersweet game as a Cowboys fan. I loved that they came back and fought until the end, but it sucked to see them not as polished as they were a year before.
Steve Young was a real hard nosed player the way he would run up the middle with no fear. Respect for cowboys as well. Smith, Aikman, Harper and Irvin just kept fighting and making plays.
You could basically say the Super Bowl was already over when the playoffs started. Nobody was beating Dallas or San Fran, the NFC Championship was THE SUPER BOWL, and the game 2 weeks later was just a consolation prize for the winner of this game. In terms of star talent, these teams were absolutely LOADED! This almost mirrors Super Bowl 13. So many legendary players, so many hall of fames. I can safely say, I was proud to be a Cowboys fan after watching this game, yeah, being down 21 really ends the game, but they kept fighting back, and played a better game after they spotted San Fan 21 points, when Dallas started scoring, they immediately took all the momentum out of San Fran and got right back into the game. It’s interesting to note, that the number 1 defense of San Fran, gave up over 400 yards running and passing.
it's no wonder that the Dallas-San Fran playoff history is so rich. Their, technically, worst period of rivalry is the two most recent games. 6 NFC Championship Games, biggest difference was in 1993. Only twice a difference of over 10 points in their battles.
Of all the weird plays in this game, as a Cowboys fan, it was the Chris Bonial missed FG from inside the 10 yard line that made me worry the Cowboys might not be able to pull it off, haha! How about those gorgeous uniforms, though?
THIS ERA OF FOOTBALL I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER, TWO OF THE BEST TEAMS IN THE NFL. BUT IN MY OPINION, I'D SAY THE 49ERS WERE THE GREATEST EVER IN THAT '94 SEASON.
I remember watching this game live and let me tell you the 49ers came out like they had fires under there asses. The cowboys didn't know what hit them. Had this game started like any other the cowboys would have won most likely, but the 49ers were not having it again this year.
As a Vikings fan I had to root for the 9er's, cuz if it wasn't for that Walker trade the Cowgirls never would have had the opportunity to win them Bowls in the 90's! P.S. Not a 9er's fan either!!! 😂😂
San Fran was the better team in 1994, the loss of Johnson and Norton Jr really hurt a Dallas team. But, Dallas was great enough to mount a comeback and fight until the end. This game really showed how great Irvin was. It is no surprise they won the title the next year. What a great rivalry.
The 49ers were ready for this game mentally and physically. They had to go and get everyone in free agency like Gary Plummer, Ricky Jackson, Bart Oates, Ken Norton Jr, and the crown jewel Deion Sanders to compete with the Cowboys, but it worked. The 49ers were ready and the Cowboys were not especially physically. Larry Allen had an ankle sprain that Ricky Jackson took advantage of against Larry Allen. Emmitt Smith was nursing that hamstring injury. You could just see in that first drive how nervous the Cowboys were and the 49ers pounced on the Cowboys mistakes. I can say one thing is if Jimmy Johnson was coaching that team, the Cowboys don't go down 21-0 after 3 possessions. Jimmy would have had that team ready mentally.
This was arguably the best of the NFL, as much I loved the Cowboys then, both teams where the class of the NFL! I still think Dallas would’ve won if it was for two things….the Pass Interference on Deion should have been called and the missed field goals by Boniol

You’re forgetting the mysterious “ holding call “ on SF lineman unknown, that was never replayed when Young opened the game with a 75 yard bomb to Rice for 6….. called back and never discussed on air nor can you find a replay of it anywhere! #Rigged
So many people accused Eddie D of buying a Super Bowl with all the free agents he signed to short term deals. But if you recall the first TD was made by the one guy in the office secondary that didn’t make the Pro Bowl. Eric Davis picked Aikman. Then Jerry Rice “ass raped” Larry Brown (who claimed to OWN Jerry Rice if you think about it none of those free agents were all that influential in the way that game ended. 49ers were on a mission…. They were sick and tired of the unbeatable Cowboys just like they were in 1982!
Never would have happened if Davis jammed him at the line of scrimmage and you have Toi Cook covering up high, but they allowed Ervin to have a ridiculous amount of a running start and he made a in move that froze both then just went past the two backs. This is one of the reasons why the Cowboys were able to beat the Niners in the previous two NFC championships. I've always thought big plays being given up (like the Alvin Harper play) by the Niner secondary and it showed its ugly head again on this play. Of course they added Deion Sanders and look how big he was against Michael Ervin in this game. If it wasn't for Sanders, Ervin or Harper would have had another big play or two on the rest of the Niner secondary
@@Armis71 San Fran had a good opportunity to stop Dallas on that play, and with the momentum they had, it could’ve been 28-0 and that really could’ve put the game away. But when Dallas scored, so did their momentum, but San Fran could’ve easily added 7 after Dallas had missed their field goal, but they only added 3, next Dallas possession, Dallas gets 7 after a fast count to catch the 49ers off guard after the 2 minute warning, and it worked, after San Fran finally scored a touchdown, after being unsuccessful since their third possession of the game, Dexter Carter botches an easy kickoff catch, and Dallas got into in their own territory and they easily got 7 afterwards, San Fran got their last points in the whole ballgame in their first possession in the 3rd quarter, Dallas got the ball in the fourth, and scored, and that was it, Dallas got over 400 yards in passing and rushing combined, San Fran only got 1 complete 80 yard drive, and that was their last. They were held to 21 points in the 1st, 10 in the second, 7 in the third, and held scoreless in the fourth.

Oh, I know. This felt like a real championship game. Everyone knew whomever won this would be taking home the SB trophy.

All due respect to the Chargers, but it felt really, really friggin' good knowing that your favorite team has won the Super Bowl two weeks in advance.
This was a great game you will never see football like this again
This game was payback for the previous two championships. And as a 49ers fan, it was sweet! I was 14 years old at the time.
We won the following year
That intro still gives me chills. #Niners
The mid to late 90s was arguably the golden age of football.
The entire decade of the 90s was peak NFL football that we will NEVER!!!!!!!! See again EVER
The last playoff meeting between these two teams until the 2021 NFC Wild Card.
One of the best games in NFL Playoffs history. I was sick after this one, but you have to give Frisco their credit. They were built with talent this year.
A couple of freak plays go the other way and the Cowboys probably win it. The Niners were a team of destiny that year. Plain and simple.
I remember being so sad my Cowboys weren't going to go for three in a row. Both teams made mistakes this day, both fought like champions, San Fran was just better that day. Hated it, haha!
Classic game that Eric Davis pick 6 set the tone for the 49ers to start the game.
Young was truly amazing
This was the first game I ever attended., I was way up in the cheap seats but I was there. 👍
Definitely a game where you damn well got your money’s worth.
I always liked Troy Aikmen and Steve Young both class acts
The most satisfying NFL game I’ve ever watched.
Absolutely!!! The Eric Davis interception right ouf the bat was exhilarating
What a game to end FOX' s first year for NFL games
Niners weren't messing around in this game
Especially when the Cowboys were attempting a three-peat quest.

And half of that was to 88. You can see the cowboys resolve from this loss at the start of the 95 season, they just rolled over everyone.
