Thank you, thank you, thank you! I got a new TV and have been trying for 2 days to get my Xfinity broadcast cable channels back. I've tried many ideas found on RUclips, most involving the remote, which I didn't think was the problem in the first place. This was the first one I found that focused on resetting the cable box itself. The simple method (covered first) did not work, but unplugging the power supply from the box did work. Not sure why I didn't think of trying that earlier, but thank you again for helping me get my channels back on my new TV.
It is mandatory to have a strong uncorrupted cable signal to the "Main Cable box" .It is trying to connect. If the signal is already split prematurely, before ending at the destination, inside the box, then some channels will produce the blue screen effect. House holds with miscellaneous accessories e.g. play stations plus more than one xfinity cable boxes can cause this blue screen. The "Main Box" has to be the main source, free from splitters and what have you. Some technicians will ignore and put the main box as to compensate as a secondary receiver. This is done because most of these Main boxes have both "old school" plus HDMI cables at the back side, just to hook up your OLD TV to new age HDMI or "other" at the back. The main box will work but guess what, blue screen on some channels will happen. I have issues with some channels but I go around it by blindly changing the channel off the blue screen and press enter. Unhook power...I prefer network...digits on

Thanks comcast for making physical factory reset buttons so obsolete that if ur having issues where no picture shows you basically have no way to reset your box
Since the boxes are rented they'd like to have their own techs come out and work on it 10 times before it's half-fixed instead of you being able to fix it yourself.

Try to recheck ur connections. Make sure that all cables are securely connected. Afterwards, change the Input select HDMI Input for you to see the picture on the screen. After that, you'll be routed to Select Language and so on. Just try to recheck everything, maybe there are cables were misconnected.

Get a manual timer. Plug your xfinity cable box into the timer. Set the timer to shut off the power just before you get up. When you turn on your tv it will be rebooted without having to unplug the box and wait for it to reset!
i think theres an outage but my mom, living room tv is working BUT mines!!!! this has happened before but it was a red line. theres no colored line or anything on my cable box this time tho, its just blank. ive restarted, refreshed… unplugged, replugged and pressed the power button on my box countless times and STILL hasnt turned back on! it keeps saying NO SIGNAL on my tv… but im wondering if my cable box finally croaked again.

my xfinity did that. It was the amp that the cables from each room plug into. I would over heat and take about 12 hours to reset and come back on. They came out replaced it worked find them.

If I have dropping signal which I expect to continue then Xfinity will be getting a call from me, since I believe it is service related and not equipment related. If that doesn't solve the problem will discontinue my Legacy TV cable service and continue with internet only, which will cut my Xfinity bill by sixty percent. If that doesn't solve my service dropping, when moving will ensure I don't have Xfinity.
All you have to do is call customer service to make a diagnostic. I work for Comcast and I’ve solved that kind of issues and is not that hard. Sometimes it comes from a connectivity issue from the main box or depends if y’all have a splitter that may not be working as well.
I needed to connect my dvd/vcr to my roku smart tv. I could not get my cable box to come back on. Have a tech coming tomorrow. I cant get my box back on??? T
It’s ridiculous. My Internet hasn’t gone out in a decade. I had bright house for several years and then moved and had Fios. Xfinity is always out. If you have a choice where you live do you not choose xfinity.
You can get a new cable box if you are experiencing the same issue again there will be a shipping charge and also you can visit the nearest xfinity store to swap your cable box

That box is garbage I had 3 of them (XID-P) They always freeze and lag disconnect and they randomly come back on and then freeze and disconnect again they suck I don't know why Comcast still uses then.
