      Man I feel for you I am the exact opposite, and it pisses me off because the amount of times I roll 20's makes my DM's question me I tell them use dice to prove the point which of course I keep rolling 20's. In case your wondering the reason this pisses me off is because the RNG is so in my favor that nothing becomes a challenge I have intentionally played weak characters to prevent this insanity only for said character to roll more 20's then what should be statistically possible my DM even gave me dice weighted so it would roll 1's more often and I still roll 20's to an insane degree

    Hang on a minute
    "Whenever you have advantage on an _attack roll_ using Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma, you can reroll one of the dice once."
    The attack roll determines _whether_ you hit or not, doesn't it? It's not the damage roll. Damage rolls themselves don't get advantage.

      @@ChancesSpellbook Will do. My monk is the newest varient, the Way of the Astral Self, AKA the Jojo monk. I'm not level 4 yet, but I plan to take Elven Accuracy first, and Fey Teleportation down the line, maybe at 8, or maybe later depending on whether I decide to become a grappler. My thought is to take Grappler and maybe Tavern Brawler (I'm not sure if that one is necessary) in order to keep enemies constantly grappled, giving me advantage (and a die reroll) on all my attacks.

    I'd add to Sean's comments on using this with the Warlock class by adding that when you have the wonderful combination of Darkness spell / Devil's Sight invocation, you can see them but they can't see you, giving you advantage on all of your attacks. So, you're frequently attacking with advantage, plus the 19/20 crit range from Curse if you're a Hexblade. So, even if you roll a hit, you can STILL re-roll the other die and hope to get a 19/20 and crit, and you hit even if you fail to crit. Having a character constantly attacking with triple advantage and a 19/20 crit range verges on gamebreaking.

      Been thinking of a new build: Half Elf MonkBarbarian: dip in barbarian, for rage and reckless attack, and go to monk Kensei;choose the glaive (as it is basically a Guan Dao) as your monk weapon, for the Nice 1d10 damage per strike, plus it is a magic weapon for overcoming resistance, and you can use your dex mod as damgage. Get the GWM and GW fighting style plus Polearm Master. Begin the round with many enemies around, then rage, reckless attack, GWM do 2attacks,bonus action you can either stun or Flurry of Blows, do more 2 to 3 attacks. And this at low level... What do you think?

    This feat bothers me somewhat because of using base pointbuy an elf can start with 17 dex or a half elf can start with 17 cha, so taking this feat at 4th level does not slow down regular stat progression.
    Combine this with the half elf dark elf or base dark elf and faire fire then you’ll almost never miss. Also works well with the crossbow expert sharpshooter feat build that I mentioned in the crossbow expert comments.

    The Shadow Sorcerer at 3rd level and higher can utilize this too. At 3rd level you can spend 2 Sorcery Points to cast the darkness spell and you can see in it, and it doesn't count against your spell slots. You can see in magical darkness where most can't, this gives you advantage and allows you to use Elven Accuracy.

    Half Elf
    First 5lvls Fighter grab Samurai; Fighting Spirit; slight dex base but with higher charisma; use shortswords or versatile longswords
    Grab Elven Accuracy at lvl4
    Warlock 3lvls hexblade with branding smite; hexblades curse; pact of the blade; improved pact weapon for bows if you want
    The rest into Fighter.
    HexB Curse and EA pair really well together and FS allows for a forced way to generate advantage even as a ranged user on your turn. GWM or Sharpshooter are also nice for later on. Potentially could be only ranged a drop the warlock all together for more attacks and ability improvements as a fighter. Plus with being a Samurai you could have Strength, Constitution, AND Wisdom Saving throws with additional feats. All together a really rockin' way to play

    I personally feel that its not as effective with assassins cuz elven accuracy just adds one additional die to your role. If you already had advantage that extra die wont increase your to hit chance by a lot. I feel the main purpose of it is for crit fishing. Which you already get if you are an assassin

  • @michaelwallace5368
    @michaelwallace5368 Год назад

    How about a 2nd level Barbarian 1/2 elf who takes a level of hexblade (so damage is based on cha) and always use reckless attack. You don't have to take rage at the same time. And then take elven accuracy? Reckless attack would give you advantage on all melee attacks and elven accuracy would let you reroll one of the two attacks. You could use rage to half damage on those normal three types (but I would drop the strength based increased damage and keep the str save). It could be more worth this by taking up to 3 levels of barbarian for bear totem or up to 5 levels of barbarian for 2nd attack. You could also increase hexblade to level 3. And as a final insult to injury, you could do monk for three levels and become a Kensei. What do you think? I do see a possible problem with alignment though. As barbarians are chaotic and monks are lawful. But I'm sure there are ways to story this. Let me know. I would love to see a character write up of 5 levels of bear totem barbarian, 3 levels of hexblade and 3 levels of kensei monk = 11 levels. I think it's use would be to mix and match and would probably have to be 1-5 levels of totem bear barbarian and then alignment change and then the rest. Also, if building as a long term, you would probably only have a 13 strength, putting your highest stat (hopefully a 16-18 in cha) which would not help for those first 5 levels. lol

    to me its starting to sound like there are two types of feats,
    a) Busted OP must pick
    b) flavorful but not necessarily all that useful, like at all
    maybe its just me being stupid-new and inexperienced, but while people say feats are to make your character more unique and personal, its seams like an "x,y, and z are OP and if you don't use them your severely handicapped" situation, which takes away from the unique and personal aspect they are supposed to bring.

    • @ChancesSpellbook
      @ChancesSpellbook  4 года назад +1

      I see where you're coming from, and honestly I partially agree. Feats are the MinMaxer and Power Gamers best friends.
      The best way I found of preventing this, is to only let players select Feats that are relevant to their characters back stories.
      While it doesn't always work perfect, I do find it makes the game a little more realistic
