Player (P) "Hey, DM What was that thing at the place?"
    DM "Your should have remembered"
    P "Keen Mind"
DM *visible frustration as s/he explains thing*
P "I explain that to other players"
Other Players "This fits into the puzzle we are working on right now"
    DM "I HATE YOU ALL!"
also... you might not be able to read something, but you can perfectly remember the characters, right them down, and have a translator tell you what text means. (same applies to language you hear)

@@ChancesSpellbook Agreed I used keen mind to memorize some musical notes and later sold them she is a bladesinger who is proficient in performance so having new music in her repertoire is a good way to spice things up she is the closest thing we have to a bard in my group

A wizard needs to memorize their spellbooks. This should remove the need to take it with you into dangerous places. And, if captured and stripped of all equipment, the wizard could prepare some spells that don't need material component, which still leaves some options, at least.

I agree! This is probably my favorite use for this feat!

      I was thinking
You can read a scroll and then usebit as many times as you want and even copy it to your spellbook
You could remenber other casters casting spells and then copy them on pint point Precision to Cast that same spell then copy it to your spellbook

Combo this with Prestidigitation, or any Illusion or Enchantment magic and the sky is the limit. Example, attempt to study the guards keyring, when he or she leaves you can produce perfect copies.

Thank you for not being one of those DM/Players that bash this feat simply for not being combat focus. I love this feat for it's RP potential, but the number of times I've heard (or read) people call this feat useless or the worst for not giving them a bigger INT bonus is so frustrating!

Haha No problem, I've always love DND for RP anyhow!

My hobo clockwork sorcerer has a keen mind and tavern brawler. Not really any synergy there, but it's a fun and unexpected combination.
At one time he went through the stuff of some wizard guy we were meant to help. The party was worried that the wizard might be hostile if he finds out we've been going through his stuff, but I said "don't worry; I have Keen Mind. I'll just place everything back exactly how it was before, and I remember exactly how it was before due to Keen Mind."
Later on the same session we found a monster we had to escape from. One of the other players asked if he could take a good look at the monster and memorize the appearance before he ran away, but I informed him that I already did that ( even if I didn't make that call ) because I have Keen Mind.
My favourite use however is that he can simply flip through all the books he ever see or encounter, in a manner of seconds, and then he knows what it says because he can recall the content of each page accurately. I convinced my DM to give me advantage on many Intelligence checks, because it'd be broken if he just knew everything after flipping through the pages of the library which I think should be what'd happen.

I always felt that any wizard with this feat never needed to worry about losing their spellbook (provided they weren't Feebleminded or something similar) as all wizards are always reading and adding to their books, meaning they've read if not chosen all of their spells at some point in the month.

    • @ChancesSpellbook

Exactly! It's a super good choice for Wizards!

when i think of all this tracking help spells and feats and then think about the ranger this ranger must be the single most advanced navigation system to have ever existed way ahead of even gps navigation

@@ChancesSpellbook dont like multiclassind that much as it looks one out from 20th level ability

      @ChancesSpellbook  4 года назад

@@Florian0799 Fair enough! I'm kind of on the fence about it personally: If it's for a long level 1-20 campaign I will almost never multi-class, however if it's a level 1-15 campaign or less I'll always consider it!

best way i use it is end of every day write a detailed journal of what you saw and heard (important or possibly usefull stuff)
keep doing this and end of the month or so re read the journal of the month, rince and repeat ... so the for the next month you can rember the previous month...

Can i ask something? Could you theoretically Go into a library skim through all the books and boom you know the whole library. And what about Infinite Memory? Could you imagine all the books you have read all together and basically add another month to the timer?
