      Also with 3 more levels of rogue you can get the assassinate feat which does not specify the attack type (weapon vs spell) So technically if you build this up to 9th level. So lets say best case scenario. You can pre hex a target. So firing both eldritch blasts, that is 2d10+2d6+6 (Assuming you only have a +3 for your charisma mod since you have no stat buffs) and with assassinate, you have advantage for both attacks AND any hit is a crit. So lets up that to 4d10+4d6+6 damage. at 1200ft.

    A non-expected use of this feat is to take it as a sun soul monk as its radiant bolt strikes count as ranged spell attacks and it makes the subclass MUCH more useful by increasing the range of your strikes to 60 feet while ignoring cover (and your allies) that are blocking the enemy.

The increased range does apply to whips/polearms meaning you could get it for some serious damage bonuses to your 10ft range attack or even better when paired with warcaster for booming blade opportunity attacks with a 10ft range... The DM set up a base of surprisingly intelligent goblin's, we had to try to sneak in and get some Intel needless to say our rouge and ranger had a fun time, we got to the end there was nobody except one hobgoblin 650 ft away, it was a warlock, with Eldritch spear and spell sniper that was the best boss fight we had in a long time because it was still capable at short range so it was not like the goblin archers. Yet it was still better to be up close then in sniper range.

    I gave this to a Sorcerer in a PvP match. Not only does it give me access to Eldritch Blast, which benefits from Charisma along with my other spells, but at Level 5 I get two blasts for the price of one. On top of that it also doubled the range of Witch Bolt for my Storm Sorcerer, meaning I could maintain a relatively safe distance (Mirror Image was up either way so good luck hitting) and keep the connection. I might have to burn an action to maintain the damage afterwards, but Quicken Spell makes it so that I could fire another barrage of Scorching Rays while doing it.

    Why exactly wouldn't Booming Blade work???
    It says within 5 feet so why wouldnt it go to 10 feet?
    And honestly it's using the weapon to apply the magic anyway so why wouldn't it work with a glaive at 10ft reach in the first place. ..and if that's "too powerful" then why wouldn't the sacrifice of using a feat fix that?

  • @zwordsman
    @zwordsman 4 года назад +2

    Here is a weird question... This is wordered differnetly than other "learn cantrip" spells. It tells you where the Cantrip coms from. But it doesn't say it is of that list.
    So.. Does this add that cantrip to your spell list? Or does it give you the casting of the other class'?
    This is a bit important for.. Artificers.
    Spellsinger is wordered badly "you learn the cantrip" but doesn't have the same wording as others.. unlike other ones the feat requires you to have a spell list already-it doesn't give you the abilty to cast spells. You only learn the cantrip. So.. Presumably you have to have the casting ability to start with. Because if it wasn't adding to your pre-exhisting list. That means that you wouldn't actually be able to cast the cantrip.

    • @ChancesSpellbook
      @ChancesSpellbook  4 года назад

      Good question, to the best of my understanding you would use the modifier from the class. Although another DM might disagree!

    • @zwordsman
      @zwordsman 4 года назад

      @@ChancesSpellbook on either way you definitely use the sources modifier. But its kind of vague if it gives you new spellcasting method of yhe original class. Or if you use your currently held that it uses as a prerequisites.
      Doesn't matter mostly. But for some they do. For instance. Alchemists lv 5 only works if the spell isbcast using Tool Focus.
      If this feat casts via your prerequisite Casting ability then it would work with Tool Focus. Meaning an alchemist could actually get Necrotic Damage stuff haha. Such ad chill touch.

    • @Zarsla
      @Zarsla 4 года назад

      As I understood it you need to cast spells to take this feat thus you're either a spell caster or someone who took a spellcasting giving feat, as for the modifier, it says it's based on which spell list you took it from.
      So a eldritch blast - cha only, Thorn Whip wis only, but firebolt - cha or int.
