just because there's no research or data supporting creatine causing sleep issues in some individuals does not mean there is no link! There is so much anecdotal evidence of this out there. I'm one. I've tried different kinds (with nothing added). My workout intensity is the same. Everything else is the same. Even at low doses. Creatine WRECKS my sleep. Not worth it for me.
Me to man. Took a long time to make the connection. I only noticed when I quit it. After 2 weeks of no creatine I did notice my muscles looking less full, but all of a sudden I was seeing improvement in my sleep. I slept a full 8 hours a few nights and then I started taking it again. It takes around 2 weeks of daily usage for me to get the sleep issues. I don't have too much trouble falling asleep, but I wake up in the middle of night and feel wide awake. I will toss and turn until my alarm goes off. Experiencing the issue now. I am going to quit for a month and then try it again just to confirm.
@@AZ-gs6hj Samee.. I've been taking it for 4 days now.. and Even my sleep tracker can tell theres a difference in sleep quality compared to last week 😭😭😭😭
The same happens to me. I sleep for 6 hours (deeply) and feel energetic, but I also have the sensation that 6 hours is not enough. I will try not to take it in the morning.
I went caffeine free 5 months ago to finally get normal sleep and I’ve been sleeping great for the first time in years. My trainer gave me creatine. I thought it would be okay to take after doing my research... 4 days taking a small dose in the morning and BAM… I’m up at 2:49am and was planning on waking up at 5? Lol I just tossed it the garbage! I don’t plan on taking anything ending in “ine”. Cheers to everyone that cares about sleep!
The reason I've searched for this video is that because creatine reduce my night sleep.. i've been taking it for 4 days and I only slept 4-5 hours a night.. waking up too early and feel energized already.. but my heart said, Hey please don't get worked up now I still need sleep for at least 2 hours 😭😭😭😂😂
I can confirm that after i started using creatine i have bad sleep. I waking up too early and i feel really tired but cant fall sleep again. Beore creatine i wake up in 8-9AM an feel energized, with creatine in 5-6 and tired. Even using it early morning
I started taking 10 grams of creatine in the morning, and it has seriously affected my sleep-I can only manage 3 hours a night. I even tried over-the-counter medications like Benadryl and melatonin, but they didn't help. I reduced the dosage to 5 grams, but I still couldn't sleep more than 3 hours. It's been 5 days since I stopped taking creatine, and I'm still having issues sleeping. I don't know how long it will take to get out of my system so that I can get back to my normal sleep. If anyone has a solution, please let me know, as creatine has great benefits for my workouts. I'm using the one from Do Not Age.
Definitely not a myth. I started taking it a week ago and haven't slept well since, even after cutting to only 2.5 grams in the morning. A Google search will tell you insomnia is a thing for many people when taking it.
Update after months of taking creatine: at first I had sleep problem after consuming it . But after sometime our body just gets used to it and it doesn't effect my sleep at all anymore. Infact it helps in my performance and gaining muscle and recovery. And I'll gladly keep on taking it.
Not a myth. Happened to me too. I didnt train more than before, no more caffeine or sth similar. I tried taking it in the morning and then in the evening, no differences.
I started having 5g creatine at around the same time I got into lifting weights but ever since I’ve been waking up every morning between 4am-4:30am having had ~6 hours sleep. I cannot fall back to sleep even though I would like to. I assumed it was my body’s reaction to intense exercise but now I’m wondering if its the creatine 🤔
There is no evidence? Aren't hundreds of comments enough to raise a concern, make a research that would make it credible evidence? How are you a scientist without a critical thinking? Lol
Not a myth. Don't listen to these "experts"
Before creatine I would fall asleep naturally. Now I'm not tired at night and wake up 1 hour before my alarm. I'm going to stop taking it
No, Creatine messes with my sleep. It's not a myth....
Do u still have sleep problems when taking it in the morning?
Exactly. I've only been taking it for 2 weeks and having sleep issues . That's the whole reason I've googled it.
Same
Same here.
@@mi_kii It's been a while, but I think so, especially during the loading phase.
It does! Happened to lots of ppl, so it’s a fact not a myth

I take Creatine before bed. Sleep is deep but only 5/6 hours. When I take Creatine in the morning before workout, I sleep 8 hours.

Creatine gave me extremely vivid dreams & nightmares

It is not a myth, It worsens sleep so much that I started losing muscle weight.

Have it become better for you? 3 weeks since you posted? I’m stopping today as I’ve just had the worst insomnia ever…

I started taking it 3 days ago and my sleep has been disturbed
COMING TO THIS AFTER HAVING DIFFICULTY IN SLEEPING AFTER TAKING CREATINE. I DONT WANT TO BLAME IT BUT IDK Y WHEN I TOOK IT ITS DIFFICULT.

I've had sleep problems before and after supplementing creatine. For me, it definitely doesn't help with sleep.
Never had insomnia or sleep issues. After 1 month on creatine I’ve had it all…
Can add that my sleep issues stopped as I cut out creatin. I’m gonna start on it again soon and see if it happens again.
Did it happen again?@@SveinOlavLarsen
@@jim-boy752 I've not started on it again. But not have any sleep issues whatsoever after I stopped.
i’m going to stop creatine
can’t fall in sleep normally

I could barely sleep atl night but i loved the pump during working out
I frequently take creatine right before bed and it’s never made a difference in my sleep

Wanted to add that I have zero issues falling asleep. I just wake up after ~6 hours.
This guy's like a spokesperson for creatine wtf 😂
I started taking it 3 days ago and my insomnia has worsened. I take it early in the day.

my tinnitus is much worse on creatine, and this is day 1. won't be taking it anymore
