Here’s little about me!
My name is Meghan Arriola and I live in Texas with my husband Jaime, where I dedicate my time to taking care of exotic and domesticated animals on my farm. We run a rescue and sanctuary for animals like alpacas, birds and reptiles. I do animal education presentations for groups and schools. Our alpacas also do events where we are able to teach people about these unique animals. I have used service dogs for medical needs for over 10 years and I am an advocate for assistance animals and mental health awareness.
I am an animal educator that brings science related ideas to an audience from around the world by presenting fun and interesting topics in a family friendly way. Animals touch our lives in unique ways everyday as simply being our pets and companions, but how can we make their lives equally as special now that they live in captivity? My RUclips channel and blog explore ways to meet this goal by tackling things like animal behavior, human-animal relationships and veterinary medicine. Animal science is a great way to teach people of all ages that education is fun and nerdy is cool.
My previous animal related work experience includes working in veterinary clinics, private zoos, training horses and volunteer work in wildlife rehabilitation, rescue/foster/adoption programs and therapeutic horsemanship for children with disabilities.
When I am not working with animals, I am working at the health care clinic owned by my husband Jaime and I, where we provide services to low income, minority neighborhoods. We have been on the frontlines fighting covid19. I also have a passion for art and I am an award winning painter and photographer and published author. I am naturally very introverted but I am extroverted about sharing my passions and doing my part to make the world a better place!

I remember back in the day I did an ‘all my pets’ and literally counted every fish, snail and classed each isopod and ant colony as ‘1’, because I knew (at the time) just saying all my 10 pets would not cut it. I think I managed to get it up to 23? And my audience could tell I was joking around but yeah 😂 It’s sad but I think/hope ‘pet tube’ has moved on from that.

Oh goodness was I happy to have found your channel 2 years ago when we were given a gerbil, and had no clue what to feed her. Only knew the store feed would not do. The education you shared here helped us improve that poor baby's life to the end of her days!! 😊 She lived a long time, for a lonely gerbil with no mate battling tumors. Sweetest animal ever!! Thank you again. Figured I'd say that.
I agree with a lot of this! I do have several pets I keep to myself or don't show, and we're not obligated to share anything we don't want to. Love the dress in the beginning, very cottagecore vibes and your goats are so cute I wish I could feed them

I love your channel. So many pet youtubers act like the way they care for their pets is the only right way, and do all these reaction videos reacting to other people’s care and saying how it’s wrong. It drives me nuts. Thank you for being so positive!

I just found your channel because of my interest in canaries. I have looked at several and read some books. I owned a few in the past. So it was pleasantly surprising to find you have given ideas I had never heard about. Love the concept of having finches and canaries together too. Thank you for sharing your extensive knowledge. Sorry you had to experience the crazy people who stalk on this platform.

I'm thinking of doing videos showing my morning routine or what it's like shopping for the animals. I think feeding videos can be educational but not focus on how many pets there are.

Yes, you are correct - RUclips is full of keyboard warriors and trolls. But there is also a whole bunch of people that learn a lot from those highly educational videos like the ones you produce.
But then the trolls, and the creepy stalkers, and the pseudo fans, etc. The Dark Side of RUclips can be annoying, or even dangerous.

I'm not sure why it took me this long to see this video, but thank you. Thank you for doing what you do for the safe care of the animals and for the education for people. My husband and I have been considering making a channel for animal education and wildlife conservation. We just have no idea how to start. But this gives me such a better perspective as to how I want to approach it because I want to do this for the animals and for helping educate people. Not for fame, popularity, drama, etc.

You and steff j was definitely having the same issue and I don’t wanna call names but I don’t think it’s fair for the people who have had all these animals before RUclips to be harassed on something you been doing before you even decided to picked up a camera. Hope all your animals are happy and thriving. It’s a bit sad I can’t just enjoy watching pet videos because I honestly learn so much Just by watching you guys talk about food, maintenance, care all those things.

I thought this would be another pretentious video about a person who first does something for audiences and then suddenly stops, doesnt explain anything for years and then just says that they have a life too in the most basic way, but no. You just explained everything in such a clear and relatable way, did a good job with this video and your previous ones that I can't even be slightly mad at you. I understand what you mean by some people being very disrespectful towards you, and I'm sorry to hear that. Only people with emotional problems are going after nice pet lovers.Im glad I made a channel about my dog 10 years ago,now that he has passed away,I'm so happy to be able to look back on those good times.I don't think I will ever be that motivated on RUclips again,though I should so years from now I can look back at these good times.

Bosco italics --- I'm with you. Although I'm great with people face to face. I'm the class clown, out-going, one of those people that you would imagine would do great on a RUclips channel. But I totally understand that large volumes of anonymous people can be really MEAN, and I just wouldn't be able to deal with it. There's not even a picture of me on my Facebook or Instagram accounts. There ARE lots of pictures of my DOGS. 😊👍

As a fan that has watched your channel for a long time I respect that 100%. It’s better to do what you feel like is right for yourself rather than feel like your in drama. Congratulations on being a level-headed young human. ❤ You're exactly right, the volume of attention being online gets you is NOT a normal part of the human experience. Recently I've been shocked at how many times I've seen a headline that said "24 year old influencer commits suicide" and their family and friends are baffled as to why that would happen. And I certainly don't know why it would happen either, but if someone takes all the hate to heart, I'm sure it can easily mess up your head. So you are clearly wise for your years because you realize what the hate is, and that it's just best to remove yourself from that toxicity. --- Thanks for sharing your reasoning behind the change.
I think it's also important to remember that successful creators often already have mental health problems with anxiety and depression. Idk why it's so common in social media influencers, I deal with it as well. But luckily for me, the hate comments are not one of my triggers. I wish people could be more understanding of mental health and help people before someone hurts themselves.
@@HappyTailsAnimals Thanks for your kind reply. Regarding wishing people would get help sooner. So many people are afraid to ask for help. And some of them don't know they need help. But I do wish there wasn't such a stigma around mental health issues. My opinion is, everybody's got 'some'. -- I cared for my elderly mother (I'm old) after she had a stroke and she was paralyzed, and two years after she died, I was talking to my regular doctor about what was going on in my life since the last time I saw him, while he was taking my blood pressure. etc. and he says, "I think you may have post-traumatic stress disorder. I want you to see a specialist." I said WHAT? And then I literally said "But that's for people who go to war." He said, "Your trauma, is your trauma." That was at least 10 years ago. But yeah, I was diagnosed with PTSD. If nothing else it explains a lot. LOL. ---- For me the weirdest thing about being diagnosed with PTSD, is that there's no treatment plan. If you break your arm they put a cast on it. If you get bronchitis they give you antibiotics. If you have high blood pressure they give you pills to take everyday. I was diagnosed with PTSD and it was kind of like "so far, we have no idea how to treat this effectively. Good luck." --- but I do okay. So don't worry. --- This may be too much information for here. I don't need a reply, and feel free to delete it after you read it, I will not be offended. --- Stay safe and stay happy. 😀
