Could you please elaborate on why 12% protein is perfect, I’m also curious why over 14% is too high. I love your videos and I’m so glad you’re making them more frequently again!
Yesss, I always give my bun the toys my picky parrot won't play with lol. And I absolutely love Planet Pleasures and have literally tons of their toys!
So I don't have rabbits I've never even worked with them so sorry if this is a dumb question but if the pellets are mostly or should mostly be Timothy hay why not just feed the hay and skip the pellets? I'm assuming it's for like vitamins etc but would there be a rabbit multivitamin that could take the place of pellets and offer higher quality nutrients? I mostly work with dogs/cats and reptiles so again i really know nothing about rabbits please be kind lol
Not a dumb question at all! Thats actually a common argument, pellets or no pellets. Personally I choose pellets because the rabbits are not getting a wide variety of plants that they would be exposed to in the wild. So I think pellets are important for making up the missing vitamins and minerals that they are not getting from a single type of grass hay. And also, I have noticed that without pellets the rabbits seem more hungry. I imagine that eating pellets just feels like a solid meal, which I sometimes need something like that to satisfy my hunger. So I think pellets are very good if fed in correct amounts.
I feed my rabbits oxbow garden select they only get forth cup morn and night since there is 2 bonded in same enclosure. Plus unlimited orchard grass since im allergic to timothy, fresh filtered water is always availible and they get a daily dose of organic girl spring mix for lunch.
My local coop shop have a local brand of hay pellet 100% hay/ grass with many different time and haded mineral and vitamin. Its 20$ for 25 kg and you can buy in 10 lbs at 12$. It is great. 13% protein and 22% fibre. Cheap price but no junk. They also are the only one carrying fresh smelling hay and the only hay my rabbit will eat. I tried them all.
I feed oxbow garden select but keep debating switching to sherwood because people go so crazy for it. Rhe company says being soy free makes it the absolute best thing that you can feed your bun.....
Did you decide to switch to sherwood? Because i have been using oxbow garden select too but my rabbit got bored of it and i just ordered the sherwood pellets
To be fair kaytee has other blends of adult rabbit food that are significantly better. But i dont understand ehy companies still sell that "Deluxe mixed rabbit food".

Rabbit pellets don’t HAVE to be made with Timothy hay.
