Lots of good options. I just got a utility knife from fiskars. There's.multiple sizes, I got the small one. Uses a button lock similar to the Milwaukee, but has a rubberized section on the handle which I really like. I'd recommend to check it out too.

I'd pick the Coast Shift for its sexy design, all metal materials that offer 70% razor blade length for 1.5cm-thick carton boxes. However, for the "true" utility power, I'll stick with the Milwaukee fastback. Man that 2-headed screwdriver is something that costed me half an hour running around my workplace just to find one. And the bottle opener? Fuck yeah!

I agree the coast shift is very cool and would be a great one to have . But like me I carry the Milwaukee 6-1. Every day I since it was introduced and the original one I bought . I will use this one till it breaks. I work in a repair field where it has helped me so many times I carry a small altolids tin with mm and STD allen head bits and torx and 1,2,3 phillips .

Love your content. I've been looking for a box cutter that uses an Emerson wave opening or that can be modified with a zip tie like spydercos can. Love the ability to deploy it one handed straight out of the pocket but I'm awful when it comes to blade maintenance so a replaceable blade emerson wave system would be ideal. Looked around for any options myself but came up short if anyone has recommendations

So I used to have a Stanley Outdoorsman with an edc knife blade, and a retractable utility blade. It was really useful but it broke and I discovered it was discontinued. These are all top choices, although I am not personally a fan of the Milwaukee. The first several are particularly good. Did I mention that I do not care for the Milwaukee, due to its massive size? Anyway, there is basically something here for everyone. Based on that wall of Milwaukee behind you, I'm guessing you like the Milwaukee utility knife, but the thing is unnecessarily bulky, and about the size of a multi-tool. There is one other that has a craft blade that is certainly not for everyone. I see too many people get their fingers cut with it, just as they to with Amsler's Hurricane. Personally, I would have swapped that tool's spot in this video for a scalpel blade tool, which would have covered everything. That Milwaukee is a very popular utility blade. Not to my taste. I don't know that you could leave it off the list, though.
I'd like to have seen something like the Knipex break-off blade utility knife on this list, perhaps in place of one of the tube tools.
There is also a small keychain blade that should eventually make a list like this. Probably still on Kickstarter, though. Or maybe gone. I don't remember where I got mine.
I cannot justify the size or weight of that Milwaukee anywhere.
One of the utility knives has very Shard-like vibe.
I have about half of these, and one that is similar to another. I'd forgotten about them, because I no longer carry slide blades. I only had one of each, though. I may try some different materials.

    Interesting. Ty i learned alot.
However, i think you veered off the path of standard utility blades...
There are so many designs out now, would have liked your perspective on some more of them.
Fyi, i agree with another comment, i am only interested in clean utility blade holders, not multi tools as i already carry a leatherman which I'm happy with.
However, the exacto blades open up a whole nother vista of tools, so I'm glad you showed them.

I love my Milwaukee and Gerber EAB. Also, the Fiskars is excellent, and they released a tiny version. And the Roxon Phantasy can be a nice utility blade holder, but also take other blades. I also like the simple pen-style hobby knives. Looks like a clicky pen but has a blade.
    What about Havalon stuff?
Also, the multi-tool aspect of this concept is interesting. Havalon Evolve, GOAT tool, Roxon Phantom, all good choices if you're into replaceable blades.

I really like the Milwaukee 6in1. It's a favorite. I've been carrying the Spec Ops folding retractable utility knife for about a month now, just to try it out. It's a 2 step opening process to move the blade out. No screwdriver. It has a window punch of sorts on the butt end. It's thick. Aluminum body. Has a pocket clip. Best suited for jacket pocket carry, due to it's size. Has multiple blade storage (2). I carry a small prytool along with it.

Ever since I got the bitdriver fastback I'll never consider another utility knife.
I even made a plastic 6mm hex "sabot" that can hold a scalpel blade in the bitdriver and I covered the indention on the side with a thin 1mm piece of styrene to hold an extra scalpel blade.
And then i filled in the indented writing with black, so the handle is all smooth.

After seeing one of your videos I bought an Milwaukee Fastback. Its pretty expensive over here in Germany, something like 27 Dollar... so I got one as a bringback from a friend who was in the States. And I am quite happy with it. In fact it replaced my Leatherman Wave in my pocket and is now my perfect edc knife/screwdriver combo. My Wave is now in my backpack.
Only issue I had, was that the bit of the Fastback rustet in my pocket, due to sweaty pants in the summer and the bit was hard to exchange due to the rust. So I had to replace it. But all in all the best tool I ever had for my work day. (I mainly use a knife and a philipps driver, so a full multitool isnt really needed and I have my Wave or sometimes my Surge and some other little things like a Knippex mini cobra in my backpack)

I like the 1500 fastback, but am starting to dislike the flick out operation and want to try the slide out Fastback but can't find it anywhere and am concerned about it being too wide.
Even if I needed / wanted a bit driver on my utility knife, the cap lifter built into the 1505 makes it 10000% a No-Go for me.
I had the Gerber EAB lite and generally liked it but had to stop carrying it because they're not bead blasted stainless steel like you'd assume, they're actually plated with something and on mine that thick plating started to peel off and it cut me.
