thumbs up for resisting the urge to clean the dust of that laptop, to me it give me anxiety to clean it right away and sometimes some clients doesn't want to pay because they didn't ask for it, now im working in always call/ask costumer in the moment i open the laptop, take pictures and everything to include that service so i transfer that anxiety to them with the pictures haha

If i open a device, i blow it out. It takes 30 seconds and makes inspection, especially with a microscope, much more enjoyable. If you leave the dirt, then begin a soldering operation, you will have a big mess.

Been a subscriber for some time and enjoy your thought process. Yes, this unit maybe old and hard to get parts for or impossible. As a farm kit who was mechanically inclined, you did not throw anything away but the ribbon cables are the same on cars. In the U.S. I am a certified automotive ASE Master tech since 1978 but did very similar repairs. the ribbon cable has just a little extra and if the ends are damaged, trim it off. I have what is call edge-board connectors and folks work on them rather brutal. If the copper trace if good but loose, I clean with isopropyl alcohol and nylon scuff pads. Once clean, I glue them down with super glue or toothpick dab of epoxy and held in place with clothesline pin. I use a lot of dielectric grease on terminals that humidity and moisture attack, so plastic connectors, light bulbs, my flashlights, voltmeter (Fluke 87 Type-V) and others. anywhere it would keep resistance from creeping in and dropping resistance.
Question: Some diagnostic schematics are available in line for free, but I have a Dell 15-3541 Cedar AMD XY1KC that worked fine until I plugged in to A/C adaptor and green lamp went out. Won't turn on. Checked with second A/C adaptor identical but same issue the battery out and same. I have the ability to use a Buck-to-Buck convertor to produce 19 Vdc to 3 Vdc to inject into the circuit and find a shorted capacitor with touch, temp gun, isopropyl for evap rate. By looking around, it schematics or block diagrams use the 15-3541 XY1KC for correct diagnostic flow chart. I would use it but it's on the laptop that won't work. Didn't print the 143 pages. But am I on the right track? I am forced into retirement and trying to enjoy my neurostimulator under the skin as two electrode snake up to the L1 level. The "Rep" won't turn on all 5 features only 1. Each one has 4 levels or functions yet too early. Yeh! let's drag this out so you can make more money! Not.
Any thoughts will be appreciated as the hard drive and certain functions has cool stuff I can copy and put on my old Dell Latitude D620 with Windows XP Pro and use "Publisher" to make a service manual for the 1967 C10 PU I am installing a 2003 Tahoe engine, overdrive transmission plus diagnostic flow charts, part numbers, both aftermarket and GM so in the future it can be fixed anywhere a good tech is working. Thanks so much much for sharing you knowledge and skills. P.S. What power micro-scope do you use or like? Thanks!

Hello, could Sir Sorin help me or somebody in my problem? I have here a toshiba satellite E45W-C4200X and the problem is, the laptop sometimes power on and then powers off after an hour or so of use and when i try turning it on again it doesn't power on no light or so indicating that its not charging but there's a voltage coming in. When i leave it for a few hours i plug in the charger and it powers on again and after a few hours of use the same problem occurs. I hope someone could help. Thank you in advance.
