Hot take but that DR change is all they really need to do. Drive Rush is supposed to be strong and pressuring but the problem was that it was difficult to correctly check. If this change ups the consistency of DR checks the mechanic is fine and if the hurtboxes need further extending in the future then they can do just that.
Great summary, the patch looks to have substantial changes - yet retains core feeling of sf6

Capcom finally writing inputs for moves in changelogs, which makes it more easy to read. Many players don't know names of the moves
As if getting rid of my three mains (dictator, claw, boxer) wasnt enough, the overall feel of year 1 sf6 was horrible. Game is gross and feels super homogenous. I hope changes over time make this game more appealing, easily the worst sf game in its current state

The corner di scaling was something like if you take an action before they hit the wall it messed with the scaling. Very hard to setup but there were some examples on Twitter.

More damage scaling from perfect parries make a lot of sense. Good change.
Might be a good idea to think about installing some basic acoustic treatment in your room. Its very echoey and distracting currently, quite unpleasant to listen to. Would really improve your videos a lot imo 🙂

Im not loving the idea ofthe risk reward balance for perfect parrying now. Less damage, less bar, and if you miss youre vulnerable for THAT long?? May as well put the sticks down, thats a whole ass beating 😅

This was supposed to be when season 2 was coming out, but the season 1 chars got delayed. So Capcom decided to put out the balance patch anyway.
Ah okay. I was wondering because I'm like where are the new characters if this is season 2 and Capcom called it a battle update so I was very confused
It is essentially the start of the new season of the game.
Devs said they are gonna release sweeping patches only after a season has ended, so here we are. Real season 2 will start when the characters drop but there wont be sweeping balance changes until after they all release, so this is now the state of the game until next year, essentially the new season.
Question, after the akuma update do I still get connection error when using cross play and need a VPN to play in cross play when I'm in Egypt or is it fixed now?
Im finding it stupid hard to do dp into super now i have no idea why

Why did they nerf chun li? Shes the hardest character to use, mained by 2 people, and there are about 6 characters who are stronger and got buffed. RIP chun li 😢

I briefed over the patch notes for characters I am interested in and the only 1 I can say who has a real buff is Ryu. Real increase to damage, meter gain, drive gain/loss and a new way to use denjin.
Chun was one of the best characters in season one. Took people a while to realize.
I wish parries were only anti fireball and just an alternate block to block overheads and lows at the same time. Not a real parry. I hate getting parried on a jump in, or just as I take my turn.
I actually enjoy parry, it keeps people on their toes. And less boring playing or watching a match where people get their turn and go through the motions.
I hate this patch. God forbid you nerf drive rush.......but they actually FUCKING BUFFED IT!
I cant with this game, uninstalling now. I was hoping they would make it better but they want to go the casual scrub route again. It was promising, was hoping this patch would fix the initial issues, but nah, keeping the scrubbyness of it going so im moving on.

Plus on block, counter hit on hit, only costs 1 bar, no punosh counter stste if checked, build the meter spent back on block if blocked to do it again later for basically 0 cost, combo scaling is not low at all.
Its a horribly balanced mechanic and the game would be better without it. DRC is fine, drive impact is fine, and drive reversal is great too but raw drive rush is retarded and derpy

Only thing I would want to change with Drive Rush is to make it more punishable. When one player is on the ground there aren't really that many ways for the other to punish him while drive rushing other than guessing right (I guess now with the added counter from neutral is a bit less of an issue maybe?). Like maybe not being able to cancel into a Drive Impact during a Drive Rush combo?
But that's a noob thinking out loud.
If they’re gonna change drive rush I would like to see a Drive Rush Backdash. Regular backdash is only grab-invincible but imagine if you could drive rush backwards for full invincibility a la SF IV.
@@saltysteved3831 That would be cool, but SF6 is so focused on corner game that I am not sure how often you will be able to drive rush backwards to safety.
@saltysteved3831 yeah no. Characters like JP and guile are already immensely hard to open up so that just makes them way better than they need to be
@@saltysteved3831 They added that in the last season of SFV, Vshift, a defensive option but in this game they clearly want it to be full on forward aggressive so i dont think they will add a mechanic like that in this game.
With the drive system and short TTK, they want to make the game a spectacle of just brawling not back and forth mind games like SF4, slowly chipping away by spamming specials.
