One of my elderly friends phoned me in a blind panic after nearly getting conned by one of these. Another was only stopped from sending scammers money in a transfer by the diligent Post Office employee who recognised the symptoms of what the victim was asking to do. Makes the blood boil.
Man how messed up is the modern world that we need to rely on post offices employees to make sure we don't lose all our money (btw VERY happy that your friend is safe and for the employee) have a good day sorry for being 2 years late.

Oh dear, I had to stop the video at 6:37 as I imagined my 90 year old mother doing the same thing because she's not sure of anything anymore, and it could be a friend on the phone for all she knows. Her memory is shot and she just does as asked. I actually became emotional and had to stop viewing.
Jim, well on behalf of elders like my mother, thank you for stepping in (and following up) when you knew he was a sitting duck. I bet his family was grateful (at least I hope so). Anyway, I AM grateful.
Normally I get a chuckle from your uploads. This one has made me feel angry (and slightly nauseated). Fascinating to see their set up but infuriating to think that they're doing this. Thanks (as always) for your work on this Jim.
Thank you for calling and helping this elderly man. It makes mad when these fucktards scam anyone, but it really irritates me when it's clearly someone so naive about tech and trusting. This man is in his Golden Years and he should be revered not taken for a ride. BLESS YOU!
Honestly when I was listening to the scammer talking to the elderly man, it was turning my stomach!! I am so glad that you alerted the victim and the bank! That makes you a hero in my eyes, and we need a lot more just like you out there looking out for these victims! I do have one question though. How much money would they have taken if the scam had been completed? Do they just take money once or do they keep taking until they are blocked or the bank account runs dry? It is crazy that these ass holes are making to much money! keep up the good work, and thank you for looking out for the victims!
Jim Browning I can understand that. I am so happy that you are able to save some victims their hard earned money! I don't want to know from which victim they took money from. I guess I am just curious as to the average amount of money they scam out of people. Do they clean the victims out completely all at once, or slowly over time? I am a retired Police Officer, and I have been retired for about 10 years now so computer crimes was not even a crime when I retired! At least at our small department it wasn't, at the time anyway. It is just my cop brain wanted to know as much as possible! Thanks for answering all my questions. I meant what I said about you being a hero. Peace, Elizabeth

This is incredibly sad. On behalf of the countless people you have no doubt saved without their knowledge from these despicable people, both through action and even simple wasting of the scammers time, thank you. Not all heroes wear a cape.
Jim..i swear..i had tears in my eyes watching this. That could be any of our fathers..it could be THEIR father..or grandfather. It upset me so much..they have absolutely no conscience. @Prajna Shenoy When someone asks, "okay?", our response is usually "okay" also. This is similar to "yes" - it is an affirmative. It declares that you agree with something. So if you are repeatedly answering "okay" or "yes" to the question "okay?" then this makes your subconscious mind more willing to accept the instructions of the person asking "okay?" - you have told yourself "okay" enough times that you actually start believing that the activity you are falling victim to is ok. Salespeople use this technique to take you in the direction they want you to go. Google the 'Yes Set Technique'. Basically, the salesperson asks the customer easy-to-answer questions; then, at the end they will add on the final question which they _really_ want they customer to say 'yes' to. The basic 'Yes Set' pattern goes like this: *Salesperson:* I noticed that you were looking at our range of winter jackets. *Customer:* Yes *Salesperson:* Were you able to find something that will keep you warm? *Customer:* Yes *Salesperson:* Does this one you've just tried on feel comfortable? *Customer:* Yes *Salesperson:* I'm not sure if we have many of these left in stock actually. Are you ready to buy this today? *Customer:* (thinks 'Yes') Uhm yeah, I think I'll take this one, thanks. Years ago, I had a shitty job in a horrible call centre where I would cold-call people to try to get them to agree to make an appointment at their home with a greasy salesperson who would get them to buy double-glazed windows. The opening pitch was just an adaptation of this technique. For example, a conversation went something like this: *Me:* You answered in our survey that your house is over 10 years old, didn't you? *Customer:* Yes, that's right. *Me:* And you'd be interested in increasing the value of your home over time, wouldn't you? *Customer:* Yes, of course. *Me:* There's actually a local WINdow recycle scheme running at the moment. Money back for old windows. Homeowners are taking advantage and really seeing rewards. I don't know if you've heard about it yet, but would you ever be interested in finding out how much you could get if you ever wanted to upgrade your WINdows? *Customer:* Uh... *Me:* It would be good to know at some point in the future, wouldn't it? *Customer:* Yes. I'd be interested (...also subconsciously hears the word 'win') *Me:* So you have seven rooms in the house, right? *Customer:* Yes *Me:* Hmm..so I wonder how many WINdows that would be.... *Customer:* Uhh..let me think...10 *Me:* Yeah, so you have about 10 WINdows? *Customer:* Yes *Me:* If you were ever to upgrade...CAN YOU IMAGINE which WINdows you'd choose? (customer consciously thinks "Yes I can imagine"/subconscious mind hears this as: "Can you imagine win?") *Customer:* Yes. All of them. *Me:* Well, I can get someone to PAY you a quick visit...whenever's best for you...and they'll be able give you a good idea of what options you have for the WINdows if you ever decide to upgrade. It's really helpful to know and they can answer any questions you have. Does that sound good? Shall we make an appointment? *Customer:* Yes. Then a salesperson goes to the customer's home and convinces them to rip out their perfectly fine windows and install new 'upgraded', 'green' ones. The customer never gets money back from recycling - the company cashes in on the materials, and gets thousands from the customer. Most of the time the customer is happy though and never feels rip off. But it's all so insincere. I was so happy to leave that job. Anyway...so the repeated 'ok' pattern these scammers use puts the customer in a habitual response to answer 'ok' also - just like the customer who continually answers 'yes'. They say 'ok' - in other words, they agree automatically with the scammer. The force of the 'ok' or 'yes' is built up so that the victim says 'yes' to the ultimate aim of the scammer without really thinking about it too hard - 'OK I will let you control my computer'; 'OK, I will give you my bank details'; or whatever it may be. It's been proven how idiotic these scammers are. Yet even a complete moron can keep asking 'okay?', without formally realizing what they are doing. It might be difficult, however, for good people to realize when they are falling into this trap of automatically agreeing with someone and allowing themselves to be persuaded even more into doing something against their own interests. It's also important to realize that the word 'No' is probably the most powerful word you can ever use.
Pretty easily, I'm afraid. They're scamming people in a wealthy country half-way across the world. It's easy for them to convince themselves that their victims are going to be fine -- that is, even if their conscience is pricked in the first place.
Great job on part 1 & 2 Jim, When you'll get the hang of it, you'll have 4 to 5 scammers per day, Keep some to yourself and gather as much info as you can mate. Keep up the awesome work, stay safe.
You're an absolute God send. You don't put on fake voices and try and be funny and play a character, you just basically show these bastards for what they are (thiefs and cowards) and when you can you even help a victim. I have nothing but the utmost respect for you my friend.
I teach computers to seniors at a center. Jim I would like your consent to use your vids to educate them, on what not to give out..even thoe your in the UK and not Canada, it is still a good information tool.
Greta Bos Scam baiting videos in general would be good. Another place would be Lewis Tech as long as you stop the video before they start swearing at each other. And for a lighter video there's always The Hoax Hotel who usually does pretty clean scam baiting.
Why do you need permission to play youtube videos? As long as you're just playing them and not re-uploading them or something then I don't see what you need permission for.
As an IT Tech, I see hundreds of elderly get scammed every day. It is heartbreaking. Thank you for your work to get back at these guys and save who you can!
Question: are they scamming only the elderly? I would think they would hit each and everyone they can. Heartless has no color. race or religion. Humans suck!

So much great info. I got one of these fake warnings on my PC a year ago; my first instinct was to shut off my computer. The notice was startling, but once I restarted I realized it was fake. My niece, who is much younger than me, intelligent, fell for one of these scams. I have a friend in CA who had her identity stolen--breaks my heart. Your work is fantastic, never stop.
Thank you for not including victim audio. It's bad enough knowing this is happening without having to hear a person go through it. It's a small thing that means a lot.
Dude your a hero, videos like these even teach us how to avoid scammers like this. I'v actually told some teacher about you and they show their students your videos. I feel like this should be taught in schools so newer generations never have to deal with scammers.
My dear Mr Browning. I am so happy that you, and others like you, are fighting back against this hideous plague. The way you stepped in and saved this 87 year old man was truly heroic. Godspeed you sir! Keep up this fight, and always know that the silent audience is constantly applauding and cheering you on. You are a legend Jim!
What you're doing for these people is nothing short of heroic. I didn't know that these creatures actually get in trouble now, and I can't tell you how happy this makes me. I honestly WISH I could do what you do because it really seemed like for a long time they operated with impunity and after having suffered a personal family tragedy years ago directly because of a "scam caller" I can't explain how just knowing that they're being held accountable for their criminal actions makes dealing with it daily a bit easier. If I knew you personally I'd shake your hand sir. I'm sure you hear this a lot but you're a good man.
Jim, I've recently found your channel over the weekend and I've viewed several of your videos. I'd just like to thank you for all of the hard work and time that you spend revealing all of the online scams that take place, and for taking all the time to investigate and expose companies. I must also commend you for phoning all the other victims and informing them too, that's incredibly kind of you - especially with the victim in this video. This is awful to view how these companies work and pray on the vulnerable. Again, thank you for all the work that you do. I've learned a lot over the last few videos. Looking forward to part 3, best of luck Jim.
I've been binging all of your videos, and you've taught me quite a few important things about computers. Ranging from removing horrible viruses, malware, ransomware and trojans to learning how to avoid fools like these. Thank you so much for doing what you do, a lot of people learned and appreciate your wonderful work!
Im so glad you intervened, breaks my heart that this is happening to vulnerable people, worked hard all their life. I wish the worst upon these bastards that are doing this
The service you provide, Jim, is invaluable. Educating the masses is the only way stop these scammers from accomplishing their evil deeds. The time you donate in making your videos is truly appreciated. You are like the internet police as you saved an 87 year old from being a victim.
So..Jim you are like a superhero against scammers. I was holding my breath about that senior citizen, praying he would not lose all his money to these scamming thieves. Jim to the rescue.. and now I will be able to sleep tonight because you took quick action saving him. Keep chasing and exposing these rat bastards where ever you find them.
It is obviously disgusting what they are doing, but what you are doing is entertaining and a genuine service. I always wondered who in the world would ever believe any pop up ads, but jeez I think I need to phone my parents. Thanks for the content man. I cant wait for part three!
I'm so disgusted. These people are absolutely sick, who knows what that poor old man would do if he lost all his money... Seriously, thank you for doing this, Jim.
Here you have to physically go to the bank in order to get a bank account that can be used to do online purchases, I guess that's a good way of helping this.
Same with me, my financial institution requires you to physically show up and if any changes are made to the account, you have to contact them personally and send them a signed note via fax or email where they will match your signature of course from the first time you showed up.
Just subscribed from being shown one of your older videos by a friend. Its great you are showing people about this world that im sure many people, including myself, knew very little about before seeing your videos and making people more aware . Keep it up
So RUclips recommended me your channel. I had no previous interest and knowlodge in this topic and in these programs and how these scammers operate, but after I watched some of your videos today I have to say that I´m amazed, interested in the topic but also terrified that scammers can exploit the unknowing people that easily. I knew that there are ALOT of ways to get info, detail etc. through your PC but this is something you´d see in a TV-show or something. As scary as all these things are I´m glad that there are people like you out there who expose these scammers, who help people that are not familiar with the dangers and who even talk to the scammers in an professional way and expose them in an orderly fashion. We need more people like you. You prevent crimes and also educate people and make them aware. You are doing great work! You just earned another supporter of your cause :)

I hope you continue to tear these a**holes a new one.
I live in in indonesia (not indonesian), so I know some info. muslims culture is that rich people should share stuff among poor people. but muslims have it the wrong way. I have a helper at home and she is a muslim. we give her money for her to buy her own food. but multiple times my mom saw her stealing rice, fruits and veges from our refregirator. she tells the helper to stop every time. she even demanded cooking oil from us even though we gave a pack to her 3 days ago. the scammers are the same. they think that life is unfair which is correct, but their way of thinking over that problem is unreasonable.
@@LSDPband you shouldn't be an immigrant who moved to a Muslim country then uses an example of 1 Muslim person to hate on all Muslim people, whilst mooching off of a Muslim country. If he hates Muslims so much why doesn't he move back to his own country. That's my point. My point wasn't even that he can't live amongst people and criticise them, my point was that if he doesn't like them why did he move there and he should leave there. A totally different point to the point you're claiming I made anyway.
@@LSDPband Also if I did move to a country and as the OP says it's a part of the culture there for rich people to help poorer people and so it's normal for employees to give their maids free things or more help, I don't know because I don't live in Indonesia, but if this is the culture I wouldn't try to break the norm and be the cruellest employer in the building by refusing my maid the normal things she'd expect from all other employers. I would actually find out what are the normal customs first and then I'd follow them so that I don't upset people. This person claims that poorer people including maids are usually given lots of help in Indonesia by richer people including their employers and that it's normal for the maids employers to share things with their maid such as the maid can open the fridge to take some food or a drink when she likes, but because he is foreign his family refuses to do that for their maid and demand she stops doing what is expected and normal in her culture. So his family are just foreign cruel freaks who no one should work for.

BLESS YOU!
An 87 year old?! I'm disgusted!
There is a special room in Hell for that level of garbage. That takes a special kind of evil.
You should be employed by the government and paid a lot of money!
You’re a hero 👍
Fair Play man 👍
That's a great idea... there should be a bounty on these crooks!
Maybe hes already an fbi agent or something , or maybe a part of an organization that works againts these guys , who knows !
Lol he earns more from RUclips 🤣
Elizabeth Gaspodnetich is
You’re such an amazing man. Thanks so much for spreading awareness and also for actual getting authority’s involved. It’s refreshing to see that you’re doing this to actually help and not just for RUclips views.
Well done, we need more people like you. X
Damn right we do need more people like jim
This is incredibly sad. On behalf of the countless people you have no doubt saved without their knowledge from these despicable people, both through action and even simple wasting of the scammers time, thank you. Not all heroes wear a cape.
so underated channel...you are a LEGEND!!!
I love your videos♥️
What you are doing is very important
Jim..i swear..i had tears in my eyes watching this. That could be any of our fathers..it could be THEIR father..or grandfather. It upset me so much..they have absolutely no conscience. I do know that hinduism has karma ingrained in its faith..i only hope it will get its revenge. These ppl are pure scumbags.
Vote Labour!
It makes me feel sick listening to these barstands scamming these poor people.😪
I want you to read your comment VERY CAREFULLY.
He was coming back from the barstand when he wrote that comment
I like how in every sentence the last word is "okay?"
The basic 'Yes Set' pattern goes like this:
*Salesperson:* I noticed that you were looking at our range of winter jackets.
*Customer:* Yes
*Salesperson:* Were you able to find something that will keep you warm?
*Customer:* Yes
*Salesperson:* Does this one you've just tried on feel comfortable?
*Customer:* Yes
*Salesperson:* I'm not sure if we have many of these left in stock actually.
For example, a conversation went something like this:
*Me:* You answered in our survey that your house is over 10 years old, didn't you?
I'd be interested (...also subconsciously hears the word 'win')
*Me:* So you have seven rooms in the house, right?
*Customer:* Yes
*Me:* Hmm..so I wonder how many WINdows that would be....
*Customer:* Uhh..let me think...10
*Me:* Yeah, so you have about 10 WINdows?
*Customer:* Yes
*Me:* If you were ever to upgrade...CAN YOU IMAGINE which WINdows you'd choose? (customer consciously thinks "Yes I can imagine"/subconscious mind hears this as: "Can you imagine win?")
*Customer:* Yes.
Why?
7:24 "They will axe you..." - Indian scammer accidentally revealing his plan to the victim
Aqua Nova dumbass
Aqua Nova lol jk that was the joke mate
They listen to too much rap. Little big gangsters in da Indian hood!
You're kidding right??@Aqua Nova
Aqua Nova
They axed him
Not ask
*axe*
Thanks again Jim. As always, I'll be happy to help every baiter, any possible way I can☺
MY goodness, I'm so releieved they didnd't get anything from this 87 year old man. How do these people live with themselves???
Pretty easily, I'm afraid. They're scamming people in a wealthy country half-way across the world. It's easy for them to convince themselves that their victims are going to be fine -- that is, even if their conscience is pricked in the first place.
Yeah, you're probably right. I hope karma will get them all in the end, but that's probably wishful thinking.
not ww2 the video is from 2018

Great job on part 1 & 2 Jim,
When you'll get the hang of it, you'll have 4 to 5 scammers per day,
Keep some to yourself and gather as much info as you can mate.
Keep up the awesome work, stay safe.
Thank you for your work, Koko! Can't wait to see more stuff from you.
0:00 already know it’s good

You're an absolute God send. You don't put on fake voices and try and be funny and play a character, you just basically show these bastards for what they are (thiefs and cowards) and when you can you even help a victim. I have nothing but the utmost respect for you my friend.
I teach computers to seniors at a center. Jim I would like your consent to use your vids to educate them, on what not to give out..even thoe your in the UK and not Canada, it is still a good information tool.
Greta Bos Scam baiting videos in general would be good. Another place would be Lewis Tech as long as you stop the video before they start swearing at each other. And for a lighter video there's always The Hoax Hotel who usually does pretty clean scam baiting.
ya that's the reason why I want to use jim's, it's very professional and has no nasty language..
Why do you need permission to play youtube videos? As long as you're just playing them and not re-uploading them or something then I don't see what you need permission for.
it's common courtesy to ask, don't ya know..
Greta Bos If you want to do that it's better to message him via e-mail in the "about" section of RUclips on his profile page
These guys make me sick. Keep up the awesome work!
It is horrific actually watching some poor old person about to lose all their money. These Indian scammers have no hearts. Keep up the good work.
Its not funny anymore, when your hear those recordings from the call center..... Its sad to hear how people fall for this crap.
I'm not one for donating on patron, but come the 1st of next month you're sure to have a new patron. Honestly you're the best scambaiting person ive come across and seeing you help people like this is really heartwarming.
I am From India.. And I feel Ashamed of them... if you want any help in translation than I may help you... Keep the good work up!
Mohit Jain what do they say in the background at 2:30?
Yeah what did they say?
That scammer said :
"maybe he didn't say anything because he saw the girl"
to be honest thats exactly what i would say if i had a quest to befriend your enemy in order to be a firsthand snitch to a scammers side, its unlikely but possible;
hope you are legit through but i thought it would be wise to let Jim think about that so he can be around for a longer becouse after all, at this point he made enough losses to get WANTED for his...head.
The BBC get info from these call centres saying this is illegal. The BBC are scared of Indian backlash so they do little.
This was very informational and somewhat entertaining. Thank you for making this video.
Thank you for not including victim audio. It's bad enough knowing this is happening without having to hear a person go through it. It's a small thing that means a lot.
Okay, That 'PDF' file is genius!
You're doing a great service for all of us Jim, thank-you a 1000 times.
Wow so worth the wait now I’m gagging for part 3 haha loving your work jim 😀
Dude your a hero, videos like these even teach us how to avoid scammers like this. I'v actually told some teacher about you and they show their students your videos. I feel like this should be taught in schools so newer generations never have to deal with scammers.
Jim you are a hero... you really are, truly amazing work.
I am so thankful we have people like you in this world. Sir, you are a true HERO!
Scary stuff.... thanks and well done jim!
Dude your a legend
What you're doing for these people is nothing short of heroic. I didn't know that these creatures actually get in trouble now, and I can't tell you how happy this makes me. I honestly WISH I could do what you do because it really seemed like for a long time they operated with impunity and after having suffered a personal family tragedy years ago directly because of a "scam caller" I can't explain how just knowing that they're being held accountable for their criminal actions makes dealing with it daily a bit easier. If I knew you personally I'd shake your hand sir. I'm sure you hear this a lot but you're a good man.
This brought me to tears 😭😭taking advantage of the elderly is just as bad as child abuse. Thank you so much for all you do. You’re an angel 👼
Superb work exposing these scum.
I've been binging all of your videos, and you've taught me quite a few important things about computers. Ranging from removing horrible viruses, malware, ransomware and trojans to learning how to avoid fools like these. Thank you so much for doing what you do, a lot of people learned and appreciate your wonderful work!
Congrats on 100k!
Jim Browning congratulations on 2.33 million
@@JimBrowning Just a small amount of 2.82 million subs now!
You are a true hero Jim. Thank you for all you do! All the scambaiters look up to you, and I understand why now.
imagine if that old bloke was your grandpa ! blood-boiling stuff really !
You are doing a wonderful job helping raise awareness of these scammers and trying to report them to the proper authorities
YES! PART 2 made my day!
Please don't ever stop!! You have brought laughter out of me watching you turning them in!
Excellent work man. I love your videos. ❤❤
Your like a real life hero man. Respect for that. It's nice to know your out there to look out for people like this poor old guy. Much love
I don't know if I can bear listening to this poor chap being manipulated like this.
Im so glad you intervened, breaks my heart that this is happening to vulnerable people, worked hard all their life. I wish the worst upon these bastards that are doing this
When you said 87 year old man, my heart literally shattered
sad thing is this isnt the only one there thousands out there
The service you provide, Jim, is invaluable. Educating the masses is the only way stop these scammers from accomplishing their evil deeds. The time you donate in making your videos is truly appreciated. You are like the internet police as you saved an 87 year old from being a victim.
That's some very nice work! Well done! You should become a ethical hacker or private it detective!
Wow, thanks alot for all the work you done. You are an actual hero, even if the old man never realised it.
Jim really out here doing some real life watch dog type ish... insane stuff.
Sincerely many thanks Jim for looking after this older gentleman, you are a legend.
*this is so sad* these heartless scammers.
I think all elderly people should watch and keep uptodate about all this scam... My friend which 77 years old got scam by elderly dating...
Zeo Life Just terrible. Poor old gal 🥰
It is obviously disgusting what they are doing, but what you are doing is entertaining and a genuine service. I always wondered who in the world would ever believe any pop up ads, but jeez I think I need to phone my parents. Thanks for the content man. I cant wait for part three!
"When they axe you... When they axe you-"
That poor elder man.
Oh, here we have to walk to the bank, talk to a bank person, give them my ID and then they will unlock your account for online purchases.
Just subscribed from being shown one of your older videos by a friend. Its great you are showing people about this world that im sure many people, including myself, knew very little about before seeing your videos and making people more aware . Keep it up
Terima kasih malaikat pelindung kami!🙏 "Thank you, our guardian angel" in Malay. Love and respect from Malaysia.👍♥️🥂
Great video, as always.
Listening to these scammers is raising my blood pressure. You're doing good work sir, cheers.
9:30 Not much security in banking is there?
Lloyds send the code to a UK phone and are quite happy for an IP based in India to type it in. How did they not close that loophole?
Amazing video Jim. I work in financial crime and it makes me so sad seeing so many vulnerable customers being taken advantage of like this. The work you are doing will definetely help make a difference. Keep up the good work! :)
Jim, you should go to the Ted Talk about this. More people need to know about these scammers
He couldn't do a TEDtalk because they would accuse him of oppressing people of colour.
Thank you very much for taking the time to help these poor people falling for this.
Configer your rooter
mwalsher i usually spell configure correctly as well, except when im trying to spell out how it was pronounced by the scammer. And about how some people say router, that is true, if only this was the story with this scammer
Roflcopter that makes a lot of sense. But nothing sounds weird here. Jims "about" sounds weird here
I say rooter not router I'm American
Well done Jim Browning much respect. When these people phone you trust me they are not there to help anyone but them selves.
The one dislike is the scammer
I am 100% signing up to your patreon, you should be getting paid more than all of these scammers combined for doing what you do. Thankfully I know the do's and don'ts of the web and strange phone calls, I only wish I could help as much as you do. Carry on sir!
Jim Browning. Have you thought about getting into the ASMR game? You have the voice for it.
Omg yes he totally does!
Superb video Jim! That man could have been my father, you did him and the many other people who have seen this and spread the word a huge service - thank you
Omg waited so Long for this :D
Well done you are a hero man, I am so glad you helped that old guy, the world needs more people like you
I know this video is re: a cold call scam...
As someone that helps ad networks with regards to blocking fake support ads, I'd like to thank you.
dude you deserve a medal your vids i found by accident earlier today i have since spent all evening watching them and all i gotta say is i so wish i could reach through my screen and shake your hand. i just had to comment at this vid out of shear respect for what you did for the elderly gentleman in question.
Jim Browning ya. good point.
The vast majority of Indians are not Muslims. They are Hindus.
@@LSDPband Indonesia is an Islamic majority nation. So the point stands.
These scammers are horrible people!! Would take them little effort to work at a legit job. But no they choose to harass, intimidate and thieve off of the elderly!! God bless you Jim Browning and all of your supporters!!
