I hope aftermarket will fix the low exhaust. Not good for water crossings
Any ideas on price difference on the 390 enduro r and the coming 390 adventure r? Or weight differences? Looking forward to comparing these with the new drz!
Not sure whether to get a 390 Enduro as my first green laning bike or get the Adventure R when that comes out. Hopefully the adventure doesn't weigh too much more than the Enduro.
Is the KTM 125 Enduro R coming to the US?
So it could be lighter...the 390 could have an A2 rider mode, that a dealer could unlock and be 300# for all of us not worried about that foolish bs
Just buy a KTM exc 450/500 or the enduro 690 then 😂
thank you for your video; Do you know where the air box and filter are located in the enduro 390 r because I hope you don't have to dismantle the tank to access it
They were talking about redesigning the airfilter, but did not provide information for where exactly it is. We will check that out and report as soon as we get our hands on the bikes. Stay tuned!
Will they give tubeless spoke wheels as an accessory?
I'm sure you can get them with less of anything pretty soon.
Yep, I'd put my money on the Suzuki.
Like you said, more bottom end torque and i don't like the idea of a skid plate that's bolted to the engine case.
It also looks like less ground clearance.
It just doesn't seem like a proper trail bike.
Trellis frame? That's scary. Motor takes the beating.
Im hoping they put a 20kg slidplate on that we can change for a 1 kg one😅
If only the DRZ400 was 40hp and 6sp...
I'm kind of thinking about selling my DRZ and getting the 390 but I'd like to ride one first
I don't know why people seem so hung up on the six speed issue? It doesn't matter. What matters is final drive ratios being where you want them for your purposes.
Also the horsepower is less relevant depending upon purpose.
Are you going to run it wide open in Baja racing? If so buy a 450 race machine.
If you want a thumper that can stand the front wheel effortlessly at low RPM for log crossings, etc, buy the drz.
I'm sorry but this KTM 390 is a pretend dual sport for the cheap market. I don't like the wide trellis frame, lack of ground clearance, bottom exhaust and a skid plate bolted directly to a stressed member engine. These are attributes that were fine for the Duke but not so preferable in a dual purpose machine in certain parts of the world.
If you live in wooded mountains with tight, steep trails, the drz is a far superior choice, even with less horsepower and a five speed.
What matters is where the torque is made in the RPM curve.

It does matter as it makes the bike more versatile yeah you can change final drive to suit the highway or suit the trail but the idea the six speed is is to have more gears to split so that you can run and appropriate final drive and still be able to crawl on the trail or gear it up a little bit so it's nicer on the highway and still functional on the trail
@@torkrench you're saying night and day and know nothing about the 390, which KTM is already admitting has less bottom end power than the drz, so by your own admission is going to have the same problem as a five speed.
You keep making these matter of fact truth claims and nobody has ridden either bike yet.
But you can definitely tell just by looking at how the KTM is built, it's no trail bike.
It lacks ground clearance, retains the wide, duke trellis frame and weighs as much as the 690.
It has bottom exhaust and an engine mounted skid plate rather than a frame protecting the engine.
I bet it's an absolute turd in the woods.
So lame …..if power to weight is the issue for licensing then just electronically cripple it to bring it in line with the rules for people that have a baby licence … the rest of us want a light fast bike ….the bike industry is fucking woke stupid . I don’t think in my lifetime I’m ever going to see a decent bike …it’s so frustrating. I’ve had 2 690 and a few BMWs …as a rider now with the economy how it is I just want one bike that is light enough like 690 weight with 5 close gears for off road a 6th gear for the motor way and a fuel tank that can fit a decent amount of fuel in it in the right place not at the back …and no goddam ridiculous hydrolic clutch and no bloody traction control on these tiny bikes what’s the point ?
Where’s the new 640 adventure ? It was light enough and had everything sorted ….it just came out 10 years to soon ffs . Fucking A2 my arse
Forget ktm. Always the one to breakdown on group rides.
So better drive it alone to avoid it breaking down?
Nice bikes
2.3 gal fuel tank…ugh. It won’t be much of a long hauler. Another gallon capacity would make for adequate range.
It’s 28lb heavier than the 690? What am I missing? Uuuuugh
they look shit make an exc frame and forks with a low maintenance 250cc weighing 120kg max would be the highest selling bike ever
Ya that trellis frame is a fucking pain I think that’s why they struggle to put the fuel tank at the front of the bike.. unless you are racing Dakar at high speeds with bigger weight you don’t need it so they should get rid of it
theayre cheap- but for a reason- and made in india is not for many ktm fans -want made in austria !!
Buy the bigger versions that are made in Austria, leave smaller displacement for us poor indians😊😊
@@Trackandshield your not poor- you dont need much to be happy and dont get me wrong- i can be happy with a small bike too - a royal enfield is a great bike - but it should be made in india- not in austria- thats what i mean ! peace
If KTM gets bankrupt then it's a good decision to skip this type of bikes cause then the parts is likely be not gonna be available..
I ride a cruiser that weights 291 kilograms. And Why are whining about a bike that weighs 159 kilograms? Grow up and be a man.
Ktms great but id rather buy Japanese bikes.i dont like my bike sitting in garage, long waits for parts replacement when something breaks.time consuming and wasted.just my own opinion ✌️
Parts are incredibly easy to get, the market is over saturated with plenty universal parts across the board…. And how often are you breaking stuff that that makes it a deal breaker?
@wesdaniel6064 in my country I could just buy at a shop for japanese parts unlike KTM parts it would take longer because not so many parts and double expensive need to order it online abroad need to pay extra cost for delivery charges etc.✌️
Yea yea yea blah blah blah. I’m sure everyone watching NEVER heard that blanket statement made before. Honestly gets so tiring seeing the same bot comments every vid
Sounds like someone who lives in the sticks. As for the rest of us, parts are available within a few days.. not weeks or months.
There will always be a abubdanc of parts, the have these machines in nearly every country on earth are so popular .
It's a hundred pounds too heavy.
