Ketaki is a damn good singer. I recommend you hear this song in the voice of the late Vidushi (a title similar to Pandit, for women) Kishori Amonkar...I promise you would go in a trance!!
I am really appreciative of how silently Rick listens to Indian classical music and its various genres. Indian classical music is meditative and there is a decorum to listening to it. Its not typically a sing along situation as it sends a being into trance to bring peace and calm, to absorb and go within. ❤
It's all for views..they don't even know why the song is sung and purposes..they freaking earn their bread butter on this.. one thing they have to concentrate lolz
There are 1000++. Different songs ( Abhang) of lord Vitthal. Mahesh Kale Vitthal and Ketakis Vitthal is different . In Marathi , we call these as abhang ( unbreakable) devotional songs.
It is amazing if these folks are doing this for views and income. but one thing i have learnt is that you cannot sham 'beauty' and shamming appreciation of beauty is next level if you understand 'beauty'.
She is a multifaceted and multi-talented artist. She is a fine singer, a competent actor, a fairly good composor, and more than that, too. Her parents identified her talent when she was a toddler. So, the parents left their hometown Nagpur and to groom her talent, shifted lock stock and barrel, to culturally rich city Pune. Her mother is also a competent singer herself. She has been a fast rising talent and has earned her place in Marathi music, film, and stage fraternity. She has miles to go, and she will. 🙋♂️
You must read history of Marathi Bhakti saints like Sant Dnyaneshwar, Eknath, Tukaram, Namdev and Ramdas who kept Marathi people united in hard times between 13th to 17th century. They identified that Marathi is suitable for Bhakti music for worshipping God and wrote Abhangas which we hear now being sung by by classical singers.
So true!! Marathi culture is so rich and was united from Bhakti movement till Maratha empire to fight britishers. Brave people and hard working class. That is why Maharashtra is the most prosperous state at the moment.
For those of us born and brought up in Maharashtra, Lord Vitthal and abhangs devoted to him are a complete spiritual experience. Apart from the technical expertise of suur, taal, raag, murkiyan etc....what also matters is the complete understanding of the lyrics for the song to become a spiritual experience.
Vitthala comes from two words " Vit " ( Brick) and "Thala" ( over it) as the statue of the Deity is standing over a brick like structure. Vitthala is the manifestation of Lord Shree Krishna. This famous temple is situated in "Vidarbha " Region of ancient India, which is considered to be the "in law's" House of Lord , to his First wife Rukmini, here she is called " Rakhumai" .
The legend goes - Sant Tukaram was a potter....and had spread pot mixing mud all around his house yard where he used to make his pots and sing songs in praise of Bhagawan Vishnuji.....and in his spirit of oneness with the divine----he sees that the divine infinite finally took a form and restricted itself into a human form of complete blackness to come in front of Tukaram....and what Tukaram saw was shining shimmering white light - Pandurang; Tukaram told him to wait until he finishes mixing his mud--so he gave Vishnuji a brick (veeth or vith ) to stand on....and Vishnuji waited patiently until Tukaram finished mixing his mud for pots; while the villagers who witnessed this miracle.....started calling the divine presence as waiting on a brick for Tukaram---his Vittahala. Veeth pay atal Vitthal.
Thank-you OSR for reacting this rendition by Ketaki. She is a great artist but this is one of my favorite renditions coming close to Kishoritai. So much devotion she has sung this with. you are opening up the goldmine of young Marathi promising artists.
'Abhanga ' Are devotional written songs for Lord Vitthhal. Written by saints of Maharashtra. In the end of rendition is 'gajar'( गजर) That is musical repetation of name of God. Helps in going in trance and being one mentally with God. Forgetting everything else. Abhang is designed worship . Similar to hymnal concerts in the west.
It would be wonderful to see your reaction to Kishori Amonkar version of this. Kishori made the musical notation for this and was the ultimate diva of Indian classical music. Aarya Ambekar version is my other go to. It is Vittala. The lord (Krishna) made to stand outside on a brick (Vitta) in the rain by his devotee while he tended to something much more important. Feeding his aged parents. Hence his name, (the Lord Krishna) Of the brick. The fact that Krishna stands waiting is shown by the black Pandharpur temple idol with his wife Rukhmini, both standing with their wrists on their hips. Waiting.
No Korbin, it's not the same song. There are numerous songs offered to God Vitthal that most of them toward the end have this phrase in cyclic pattern to express ecstasy.
Indian Music took birth at the banks of Ganges and yamuna but it seems people of UP and bihar have forgotten the traditions of Indian classical music and it is people from Maharashtra, bengal and south who are still keeping it alive
It's neither this young girl (Ketaki) nor Mahesh Kale, that have "found" those notes, it was its original singer/composer Kishori Amonkar, her vocal prowess was second to none. A true stalwart of Hindustani classical music.
I mean who else could have thought of mixing bibhas and todi if not Kishori tai Amonkar. The interplay between the minor and major third gets me every single time. Anyway, it's futile to even touch anything sung by her. She was just divinity incarnate.
This is form of devotional songs is called Abhanga (non-ending, continuous), written by Tukaram, who is revered among the greatest realized souls from the devotional ( & literary) movement of the time. 🙏 Vitthal is a worshipped in Maharashtra as a form of Shree Krishn - one of the avatar of Lord Vishnu. 🙏
Listen to Chirabharni by Ajay-Atul, it will send shivers down your spine. And Kevadyacha Paan Tu by Ajay Gogavale and Aarya Ambekar! Both are beautiful Marathi songs to listen to.
Also, kindly note that Vitthal is the name of one of the Indian Gods. He has been the inspiration of thousands of songs in Maharashtra. (Just like Jesus Christ was the inspiration of so many of Michelangelo and Da Vinci's creations)
This is a Bolava Vitthal and Mahesh Kale sang Kanada Raja Pndharicha.... Vitthal Vitthal.. are different songs( abhanga) unbreakable. Devotional songs to worshiping lord Vitthal. Ram krishna Hari.. to everybody.
What .Mahesh (and even rahul sang with him.many times) is song..Kaanadaa Raajaa Pandharichaa. Many of these devotional songs (bhajan) for lord vitthal end up with chanting Vitthal Vitthal in a crescendo. Korbin you sang with correct pronunciation .. Recently studies are proving if you chant the word vitthal vitthal your oxygen level increases ..It has something to do with the tongue and mouth movement and the breathing while saying the word and the sound waves it creates inside and outside of your body and their impact.
This type of singing is the Bhakti Sangeet ( a type of concert practicing their spritual, devotional presentation of Musical node to offering his holiness lord Shri Hari Vishnu as an incarnation Of Lord Vitthal , Kanhaa, Dwarkaadhish and Chaitanya , Rama , Pandurang Jagannath and many more )
The effect of the Vitthal chant is mesmerising in the Kanada Raja sung by Mahesh Kale and Rahul Deshpande. I can see you guys have already reviewed that one
In Hinduism, we do meditation and japa. Classical devotional music also takes us there. Amazed that you guys listened with great devotion. Japa is repetition of name of God which takes us to deep peace. Thanks for sharing
Ketaki is simply great. But please do listen to the original sung by The greatest of them all - the late Kishori Amonkar. There will be no one like her.
Indian musicians are trained from beginning to play the in between notes. In fact there are more intricacies of tonality between even the sharp/flat/minor what you would find on a piano. Most Indian singers will be trained to play between those notes based on the Raga they are presenting. So to give an example, a D minor may not exactly be same in two ragas and the way you glide from one note to another may also be different. Because of this training, they are able to find the notes. Ketaki's Guru Devaki Pandit herself is very particular about precision of notes and her guru Kishori Amonkar is considered to be great master of the swaras.
SHE IS MY FAVOURITE, ACTOR AS WELL AS SINGER. U GUYS KNOW MAHESH KALE, AND HIS FAMOUS BHAJAN "KANADA RAJA PANDHARICHA" THESE SONGS BELONGS TO LORD VITHHAL. VITHAL IS HINDU GOD, CONSIDER AS LORD VISHNU'S AVTAR. BILLIONS OF DEVOTEES OF VITHAL IN DECCAN INDIA MOSTLY IN MARATHI REGION.

Shri Vitthal is God Vishnu who appeared in front of his devotee Pundarik while he was in service to his elderly mother and father and he didn’t pay heed to lord as he stands on his door. He (pundarik) throws a brick toward lord and said pl. stay there while I will complete my work with parents, god really stayed there like till now and the brick and lords feet are still there. These lotus feets are our heaven and lot of devotee visit it every year. This Songs praise him and literally tells to god I also embrace you like one did by pundarik. Suggestion is to listen this song with Pandit Bhimsen Joshi’s voice, its pure bliss.
Vithhal is name of deity she is praying to, it is Lord Vishnu or you can also say Lord Krishna he was incarnation of Lord Vishnu, all three are same, particularly Vithhal is used for Lord Krishna particularly in Maharashtra and Konkan region
WHAT A TIMING for this song. Palkhis are about to leave for Pandharpur for waari. ❤
Ketaki is a damn good singer. I recommend you hear this song in the voice of the late Vidushi (a title similar to Pandit, for women) Kishori Amonkar...I promise you would go in a trance!!
Vitthal is the name of the god they’re worshipping. Numerous devotional songs are composed with this name
Vitthal is Bhagwan Vishnu name
@@ravinderyadav5605 not Vishnu. Name it's one avatar...mostly consider avtar of krushna bcoz it is vaishnav pratha
@@mangalbodele9775 they r all same 😅
frankly bro they donk care just playing with our emotion and earing fortunes nothing else

he is himself a musician and those saying for views ..why even bother coming to this channel then
It is amazing if these folks are doing this for views and income. but one thing i have learnt is that you cannot sham 'beauty' and shamming appreciation of beauty is next level if you understand 'beauty'.
But the other guy -- the one who makes all the 6th grade jokes about the other guy's mom -- is displaying his inner boor freely.

Tamil language have a huge anthology of bhakthi songs 7 century DC.back 2nd century also some songs of Vishnu,Siva, subramanya,

Apart from the technical expertise of suur, taal, raag, murkiyan etc....what also matters is the complete understanding of the lyrics for the song to become a spiritual experience.
Indian Music itself finds its origin in Vedas, the seven notes were derived from nature, and thus Indian classical music is deeply spiritual.
Lord krishna..1000 name of one vitthala.
This is prayer for krishna
Yes both are one

Vitthal is not just a name of god. Its spiritual feel . Its pronounce put you on right direction whenever you chant that word
My dad’s name is also after lord vitthala .
The song is originally sung and composed by arguably the finest female Indian classical vocalist, Vidushi Kishori Amonkar.
Vithhal is the "God" and there are many saints who wrote devotional songs called(abhang) for Vithhal.
'Abhanga '
Are devotional written songs for Lord Vitthhal.
Written by saints of Maharashtra.
In the end of rendition is 'gajar'( गजर)
That is musical repetation of name of God.

My deep admiration for Mr. Rick and Mr. Korbin.
May the blessings of Lord Vitthal be on you both !!!!

The chant of Vitthal Vitthal can send you in a trance like state and you emerge feeling immense peace

You have to listen this same song sung by Kishori Amonkar. She is the maestro of Indian classical music. She is called Gan Saraswati
Ketaki is My fav Actor and singer both ❤
No Korbin, it's not the same song. There are numerous songs offered to God Vitthal that most of them toward the end have this phrase in cyclic pattern to express ecstasy.
If you are aware of Swarshastra, recite Vitthal again n again and you will realise your heart beats are in sync again
Her childhood songs are also very good
I my very praud your recksion
Indian Music took birth at the banks of Ganges and yamuna but it seems people of UP and bihar have forgotten the traditions of Indian classical music and it is people from Maharashtra, bengal and south who are still keeping it alive
When we chant vithal vitthal it is very good for our heart
It's neither this young girl (Ketaki) nor Mahesh Kale, that have "found" those notes, it was its original singer/composer Kishori Amonkar, her vocal prowess was second to none. A true stalwart of Hindustani classical music.
Millions of devotess are walking just now to meet there ❤GOD VITHAL ❤
Pronouncing Vitthal is sort of Pranayam which purifies mind even it helps to proper functioning of heart
She is a wonderful singer.

Sometimes you wonder what korbin is doing here. Unbelievable. No appreciation for music is an understatement. He kills it with his music
Rick seems to be lost in the two massive oceans of Hindustani classical music, the Bhairav and Todi scales that this song seemed to traverse.
I don't understand anything but she made me cry😢
Language is just a barrier..any spiritual song made us emotional
Listen to Chirabharni by Ajay-Atul, it will send shivers down your spine. And Kevadyacha Paan Tu by Ajay Gogavale and Aarya Ambekar! Both are beautiful Marathi songs to listen to.
Good u guys explored this music and her, she is a great artist, good singer and actress. U should also explore Marathi Natya Sangeet

Listen to Kishori Amonkar’s (a great great great classical singer) rendition of this song.

In Hinduism, we do meditation and japa. Classical devotional music also takes us there. Amazed that you guys listened with great devotion. Japa is repetition of name of God which takes us to deep peace. Thanks for sharing
You, firstly have to taste the honey of Padmavibhusan Kissori Amonkar.( one of pioneer of Hindustani Classical Music).

It is unalloyed devotion which gives life and depth to the names of God among the true devotees

Amazing worship of God Almighty!
