This is a proof that Chris is the best instructor on Earth for all levels! She has so much patience and explains everything so well. I found Chris about one and a half year ago because I was dealing with hip problems. Now after almost two years I feel great and no more problems and I’m doing advanced with no problems. So please, you are in good hands with Chris…Keep trying and slowly you will get there! Thank you Chris! ❤
If you are new here, welcome to the best fitness community ever! Chris starts my morning off with a smile everyday and has helped me lose 40 pounds and become the strongest that I have ever been and I am 53 years old! Keep it up and you will be doing intermediate step in no time! Also, don't forget to check out her strength and mobility workouts!!!
This latest video just proves that Chris is the perfect instructor for All fitness levels! I found Chris because I was dealing with hip bursitis and needed to reduce the wear and tear on my hip tendons so came back to step and found that I LOVE her higher BP rate classes and the fun, new choreography which is has made step something I look forward too again. But I'm also a long way from thinking that I have to do one of her high intensity workouts every day or that extra calorie I ate last night will go straight to my hips! 🤨 Chris is the 👸of modifications and today this 20 min lower intensity (I did me boo!!) was perfect! I've always loved strength training (always focusing on my lower half lol!) but now PREFER strength training. As I've gotten older and now struggle with bone density issues (and pain from a couple back surgeries 😕) I put way more focus on being strong and "capable" of doing everything I want to do. And I'm pretty proud of the 💪that I've achieved working out with Chris! And the fitness family is pretty awesome too!! Love you Chris! ♥ Thank you for all the work you put in to make each & every workout something to look forward to!
A great intro workout today. Beginners y’all hang in there. Chris is a wonderful instructor. Started working out in June and now I begin my days with her 9:00 workout. I love the variety she brings!
Finally worked my way up to advanced step but I still love and enjoy the basics, even without using a step it's a fun workout. Great way to get used to queuing and learning to listen and let your feet do the rest. Thanks Chris for including everyone at every stage of their journey.
Welcome to the only instructor you ever need to watch and follow on RUclips. I’ve been doing step for years but I had to start somewhere first. Don’t give up - even if you watch the video first and then go through it a second time. Who cares if you don’t get through it all the first time. Don’t ever beat yourself up for trying. No one fails here - we just keep going and have fun. Know your limits as well! Do what you can - you are already winning by being on this channel. Stick with it and be kind to yourself! Chris - hats off to you for keeping it real, keeping it fun and keeping it inspiring! ❤
I think this is my fifth? Video of yours? I watched one I already watched yesterday because you truly make me feel like I can do it so it makes me want to try. I appreciate your teaching style!
If this was your first time trying Step, Congratulations and Great job! You are awesome! Chris is an amazing instructor who will help you get to the skill level you strive for. She a great motivator who gives us lots of tools to make everyone succeed; no matter their skill level. Stick with it! You won’t regret it!
Chris is an awesome instructor and great motivator. You cannot go wrong working out with her no matter what level you are. Hang in there beginners you will soon get.
Beginners - yes you may be uncomfortable or unsure. As Chris mentions you can always start on the floor with a mat and then progress to a step once you feel more at ease and sure. Chris is excellent at making you feel comfortable and her on point cues will lead you through each move and combination. Keep moving and continue to try Chris WO's. You will feel such a difference in mind, body and spirit❤.. From a Subscriber in Australia 🖐
After the earlier leg workout and a few hours sitting at the computer, this was perfect just to get my legs moving after stiffening up a bit... so these basic workouts are multi purpose. I now feel warm enough for a short stretch session.... Brilliant teaching and never boring. To everyone trying for the first time, you will be surprised how quickly you can progress with Chris' teaching if you just stick with it and repeat, repeat.... I dont have any rythmn for dancing (defo two left feet!) but I can now do advanced step with Chris...yay! Thank you Chris.....
Found Christina in July 2024. Still at beginner basic level, maybe a beginner/intermediate when I’m feeling like pushing a bit harder. She’s very motivating. I lost weight, look better and feel better and look forward to my fun step sessions. 😀
Thank you for this short beginner/low bpm workout! I wasn't feeling good this morning, but this helped me keep up with my routine of step aerobic Mondays!
Thanks so much Chris it was a really great awesome step workout.i really really loved it Really fun.and really great music.i love any level of step .as I really really love step workouts.and you're the best ever chris.from daniel
Hi Chris! This is a great way to introduce anyone to step! I remember when I found your Saturday step in April '23 thinking there is NO WAY I could ever! But in that class you pointed out that everyone has to start somewhere.... I was so terrified but I went through your beginner step videos (like this one) and had to rewind... Like a lot. But it's so satisfying once you "get it" you want to learn more. Thanks for taking time to slow it down and let us all know if you work hard you'll be droppin like it's hot into a over fast in no time!
Love this workout! usually I'm all in for the more advanced choreo and longer workouts, but I'm coming off being sick for awhile and just trying to get back into a habit. What giving your best means varies every day, so I'm grateful for workouts like this. Thanks, Chris!
I started doing these workouts 5 months ago (46 years old, 50 pounds overweight). I'm now about 45 pounds overweight - have lost quite a bit of fat and gained muscle, but the super exciting part is how much energy I have. My great niece and nephew were over this weekend (ages 6,8 and 10) and I was able to bounce with them on the trampoline for a long time. If you are just starting out, it is worth it!! Don't give up. I've made it a daily weekly habit to do a workout before I hop in the shower. I take the weekends off. It's having a huge impact!
❤❤❤❤ I did step years ago and loved it and saw amazing changes in my body and now decided to get back into it and I found you on RUclips! Love the classes that you teach!
This is a great beginner step workout. Learning steps seems intimidating but you do and do again and it does get easier. I have been doing step with Chris for over a year (how I found the channel) and if I don’t get the step she’s teaching I back the video up and try again. Chris breaks it down and that is what I love about this channel. No matter how many times I have watched it she still showing everyone how to do as this may be the first time you are doing it. It’s also the same with her strength training videos. Love this channel and community. Thank you for all the workouts Chris.
Beginner step is for everyone and Chris is the best instructor! Practice with her tutorials and you will love developing your strength and choreography. I've been stepping with Chris for 8 months, practiced every day, and now I love doing the Saturday morning live classes. It's a great goal to work towards because Chris has created a wonderful and positive community around fitness and well being.
I felt the need for "just a little more " so I did this. If you are just getting into step or are rediscovering like I did, you are in the right place! Be patient, don't put pressure on yourself and have fun! And you know what, it's OK to do the same basic routine again and again, because it makes you feel accomplished!
This was such a great beginner workout. I added a weighted vest and risers to add more challenge. I love that this was slower so I could really focus on my moves with the added challenge. Chris you are truly amazing and a special person, for anyone just starting out you need to stick with it and stay on this channel. Way to go everyone.
Guys, this class is soooooo perfect for beginners! I started out with classes like this about three years ago and I slowwwwly progressed until I am now looking forward to the advanced classes. If you start out like this and take it easy on your anxiety levels, you'll end up loving step! Thank you Chris for your wonderful teaching. ❤
23:29 Thank you so much, you make moving fun. I have been looking for an exercise program that I can do at home and that wouldn’t take forever and I found you! This is the first time that I managed to finish the entire video and I am so proud of myself. The very first time I tried I was only able to do eight minutes, I came back the next day and I told myself even if it’s two extra move, it would be more and I worked at it and worked at it and after two weeks I am able to finish the entire video 😊
I decided to incorporate step into my monthly workout plan, so this was perfect! I’m 75 years old, and I want to stay functionally fit as I get older. I love the way step makes me move my body, challenges my brain, and builds endurance all at the same time! I’m hoping to work my way through your beginner playlist. Thanks, Chris!❤
I have been doing step on and off (no pun intended) for at least 20 years. If you are just getting started with it, welcome! You have found the exact right person to learn from! I love the variety of workouts, eliminates all of my excuses. Short in time? 20-minute workouts! Knees not feeling up to hops and jumps? Chris is fantastic with showing low impact modifications! What the heck was that move? Chris has tutorials! Sundays when there is no live workouts, I go through the tutorials to brush up on the steps that had me scratching my head that week.
I came across Chris' videos back in June. I was taking a fitness challenge for the month of June, and I needed to figure out what to do for the cardio portion. Trying to find a cardio-based exercise to do EVERY DAY for the month of June was a challenge in itself: I did not want to spend any money (e.g., on equipment etc), and I did not want to DRAG MYSELF to the gym in my building to use the cardio-based machines (e.g., elliptical). Believe it or not I started her basic step aerobics classes with a WII FIT Balance Board. It was perfect, as I was still able to do the moves and I was working up a sweat! I am now able to do a 30 mins advanced step aerobics class (yes, on the WII board LOL)!!! She and her community are very inspiring and are so full of energy -when she has guests on, they always make me laugh and I feel like I'm in the room with them. The positive and supportive environment that Chris and her community provides is what MOTIVATES me to continue doing her workouts. My first class was I think a basic-intermediate 30 mins class and I was so CONFUSED and overwhelmed with all the moves that I didn't finish the class. However, the next day, I chose a lower level step class, and then it all seemed click. So, my advice to any one new to step is that you don't really need any fancy equipment to start out, and be kind to yourself!! I am extremely thankful that I stumbled across Chris' videos, and I hope that this post inspires you in some way. - Natasha P.S I finally bought her stepper off of Amazon, and it will be delivered Wednesday :D
This popped up for me today after the live class. Michael gave me a thorough pep talk at the Avalon event about step. Basically he told me to just do it 😂 This was perfect! 20 minutes and very easy to follow!
I’m new to step aerobic, this was a great class. Easy to follow. I needed two to three days of cardio since I train two days. I’m glad I found this channel. Thank you!❤
I am just getting back into step and this was a great beginners class. It was slow enough but not too slow for a beginner, and 20 min is perfect for just getting back into or starting.
You're delightful! This was the perfect workout to help me get back into step aerobics after decades "off the bench." 😄I love how you break down / build up the steps and sequences and your cueing is outstanding. You're very easy to follow and you made me laugh and smile during the workout, making it fun! I'm looking forward to trying more of your offerings!
Fantastic workout to get back to step after getting the okay from physical therapy to resume gently since my patellofemoral syndrome is not fully healed. Feeling like I'm closer to normal. Lower body workouts are still on hold but I'll get there 💪 Thank you Chris 🎉
When I started with Chris last year I started doing her basic step with no step and gradually worked my way up and now I can do basic step with 1 set of risers, if I do intermediate I take the risers out because I know my level, trust me you just have to start somewhere 😊
I just try and keep moving I have been focusing on getting me feet moving correct right and left first. I am now able to move through this video and a couple other 124bpm videos in completion now. I mix this with walking and balance ball workouts with my physiotherapist all going really well as I sit in a mining haul truck for 12.5hrs a day. I hope this comment helps anyone out there. FYI - I am 145kg and 53 years old and have been doing SIJ rehab and step aerobics helps me get my glutes (butt) muscles, core strong so much more. thanks Christina love your videos from Australia xx
Today was go #6, and it was a struggle. #5 felt like a breeze but today was hard. I made it all the way through though. Gkes to show that you can have off but dont be discouraged!
@@kittyhenning5812 I am so proud of you!! Some days in general will just be harder than others, but yep..Don't quit ❤❤❤❤ Just keep moving and being awesome!
Even with my impending hip surgery, I have found ways to adjust and modify, and I can’t express how wonderful it is to be able to work out with you Chris. Everything takes time everything in moderation, but it was worth every moment.
I started with Chris in May with a step class and good thing I was by myself cos I was sooo uncoordinated 😆 I almost logged off but it seemed like Chris was talking to me in that video to stick around and glad I did because now I am at the intermediate level for step. You won’t regret it! Thanks Chris for being so patient and awesome! ❤
Can I just say I love you!!! I randomly bought a step last week and have been stepping with you everyday since. I can’t believe how fun this is! It took me a minute to find your vids, but this is by far the best beginner vid I’ve tried! I’ve done other videos of yours as well over this past week. I came back to this one to try it with risers! I plan to do this everyday. Love your enthusiasm and guidance thru it all!! Thank you!!!! 💪🏾💕
GREAT low impact basic step workout! Thank you for creating this, Chris! I’ve gained weight over the years and it was nice to start with the basics, even though years ago I was doing this. Cheers!
Loved this! I did it on my floor, but used my mat as the bench so that I could tell when I was "on the bench" or "off the bench", and that helped a lot!
Hi there. I started your workouts few months ago. Having so much fun. I struggled with step workouts. But today i managed to do everything and it was so much fun. Love all your workouts and your fun way of doing it. Thanks so much ❤
I just did this step class and I loved it, you are great, I love working out and I have a small stepper and my husband went on Amazon and bought me a better stepper. He said I was enjoying it so much I needed a better one. I felt great after this step class I look forward to advancing and at 70 I still feel like I’m 30, thanks for great videos.
it's probably been 25 years since I have done step class, but I found a step free on line and thought it would be fun mid-day break. it was. funny, i feel like I am old enough to remember when 3 knees was called a3-knee repeater. fun class. will do it again
Week 2. Did at 30 min 140 basic yesterday. Only got lost a couple of times, but needed an easier day today, my fitness and stamina is improving 6 weeks post wrist repair! Almost feel like me again.
I am NOT a step queen and never have been, but I do use it occasionally as my cardio option. Therefore, I'll do one of Chris' basics anytime. The thing I love is she never makes you feel dumb or uncoordinated or anything negative if you don't get all the moves. I have worked myself up to a fairly decent intermediate stepper and I'm proud of that! Plus... the basics are more knee friendly for me and that's always good!
I found that cardio step takes persistance... I made it a goal to learn 1 move each class 1 took... learning step by step (lol)....oh yeah -- and smile....
This is my third step class ever and all have been your videos and I am really enjoying myself, i love that you explain every move and go slow at first so I can get it down before going at tempo, you got me believing I can do it!
Have been trying different basic step from Chris for the last few weeks. Thought this one would be OK in the very hot weather we are having currently in the UK. Still makes me sweat! So enjoying the lessons though. Hopefully I will start to see some effects soon. Thank you Chris for being so fantastic.
I’ve been following this channel since 2022. I struggled at first but only got better. I am able to do all levels now, but regardless of the level you are at, you DID it! For me, I still broke out in a sweat during this workout. 😅 keep going!
Wow 58 never done step before but want to lose weight had to do on the floor as I haven't got a step board just found your channel and it's brilliant my first step class is done puffing and panting but really enjoyed it 😊 🇬🇧 thanks so much I have subscribed and hopefully we'll get better and better.
Is your step 43“? I ordered one from your Amazon link and it's waaay bigger than I thought it was going to be. I was using one I got from five below which was super tiny but this one seems crazy long. 😕
I'm new to her channel and to step areobics, I found this a challenge and had to do some off my bench, but I'm getting there!! Thank you for your fun, motivating, easy to follow step videos!!
Such a great workout! I am an advanced stepper and live for Chris’ videos, but ~3 weeks ago I injured my calf muscle…so stepping off the step was painful. After much rest I decided to give this a try, on the floor. SO FUN - even without the step. Great calorie burn, no pain. ❤🎉
Excellent back to basic class. About 18 months ago this would have been an intense workout for me. Now I step at an intermediate/advanced level (fast basic is my fav though). Today I used this class as an extended warm up before doing your cardio core class. Keep up the amazing work as an incredible instructor who really does cater to all fitness levels!
This is a proof that Chris is the best instructor on Earth for all levels! She has so much patience and explains everything so well.
YAY!!!! Welcome Jamie! Thank you so so much!!! Can't wait to have you back!
Fantastic workout to get back to step after getting the okay from physical therapy to resume gently since my patellofemoral syndrome is not fully healed. Feeling like I'm closer to normal. Lower body workouts are still on hold but I'll get there 💪 Thank you Chris 🎉
Basic step is such a good brain reset! Loved it so much❤
Loved your class Chris!! I’m new to step but it was so easily explained that I surprised myself in being able to follow you😂 Thank you😊
Great work out to fit in between clients. Still got a “glow” despite being a seasoned stepper, brill instruction if you’re new to step.
YAY!!!!!! This is so great!!! I am so so proud of you and so happy you shared this!! Great job Charmaine!
This was my second go of this video, i managed it all the way through this time! I will update on how i do next time ❤
Yay!!!! Great job!!
4th time all the way through! I added in a teeny bit of arms today too!
@@kittyhenning5812 LOVE IT!
Can’t wait to do this one always fabulous ❤
Dealing with a bit of hip bursitis and this was perfect today! I did it without a step.
Thanks again for the work out 😊😂
Thank you for these workouts. You explain all the moves so well. I started with no risers a few months ago and I use them!
Tahnk you so so much!!! Great job!!!!
GREAT low impact basic step workout! Thank you for creating this, Chris! I’ve gained weight over the years and it was nice to start with the basics, even though years ago I was doing this. Cheers!
Thank you, Chris! Awesome workout!
I just LOVE this channel. You explain the moves easy to follow. You are the only utube channel I exercise every day.
Loved this! I did it on my floor, but used my mat as the bench so that I could tell when I was "on the bench" or "off the bench", and that helped a lot!
Amazing. The best ❤❤❤ 20:32
Just finished my first step class. That was FUN! Easy to follow. Can't wait to do it again.
If you are a beginner take this class! ❤
Thanks Julie!
Thank you for another great workout 💪 you explained everything beautifully 😊 easy to follow and able to keep up, thanks 😊 😀
Hi there. I started your workouts few months ago. Having so much fun. I struggled with step workouts. But today i managed to do everything and it was so much fun. Love all your workouts and your fun way of doing it. Thanks so much ❤
My first step class with the step! I'm in love!
YAY!!!!!! So glad you are progressing and feeling good!!!
Thanks so so much Joan!!!
Thanks so much for doing the slower beat. It’s tough with physical limitations to find videos like this :-)
I found that cardio step takes persistance...
YAY!!! Thank you so so much for stepping with me!!! I am so glad you are enjoying these!!
Have been trying different basic step from Chris for the last few weeks. Thought this one would be OK in the very hot weather we are having currently in the UK. Still makes me sweat! So enjoying the lessons though. Hopefully I will start to see some effects soon. Thank you Chris for being so fantastic.
You are the best!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been following this channel since 2022. I struggled at first but only got better. I am able to do all levels now, but regardless of the level you are at, you DID it! For me, I still broke out in a sweat during this workout. 😅 keep going!
YAY! I am so proud of you for sticking with it!!! YOU ROCK!!! Thank you for being with me all this time!!
@@CDornerFitness and thank YOU! For all that you do!!! I’m a forever fan and supporter of this channel! 💛
Thank you for the music tempo class. I like to do more of a dancing type of step. :)
YAY!!!!!!! Welcome Dawn!!! Stick with it and keep us updated on your progress!
I have copd and tried this for the first time I was out of breath but kept going just hope I get better xxx
Great job!
Thank you x
Loved it ❤
Superrrr❤
Is your step 43“? I ordered one from your Amazon link and it's waaay bigger than I thought it was going to be. I was using one I got from five below which was super tiny but this one seems crazy long. 😕
Yes that is the one I have. The bigger surface is safer
@@CDornerFitness ok thanks 👍
I'm new to her channel and to step areobics, I found this a challenge and had to do some off my bench, but I'm getting there!!
Thank you for your fun, motivating, easy to follow step videos!!
Thanks! Monday success. 💪🏻
This is a good add on! Perfect
Thank you 💞
