Yeah, and I hate all this; the engine says this and that, I also think the accusatory cheating mudslinging trend in chess these days is unfair and hurts the game.
Thanks for sharing this, love these vids from the old days. Morozevich is one of the most talented masters of the game. His boldness in his play, even in blitz, produced highlights such as this. Brilliant, good-looking, gentlemanly, it's a shame he never became world champion, he would have been an excellent representative of the game.
At 38:00 black actually has knight to f7 and that holds as a draw, i.e. rook to f7, king takes, and then white knight to e5 and back to g6 with no way to improve. Draw.
You are right. Nf7. If white plays Rxe6 than not Nxb4 but Re8 and black is better. After Nf7 white has to play Qh5. But black has at least a draw. Diificult to find the best moves when you are in defense. Great game by Morosevich anyway.
After taking the gambit, engines suggest g5 after white plays a normal move like Nf3. I'm surprised the announcers referred to this response as "old fashioned." Granted, this was 21 years ago. I wonder how a top player would respond to a king's gambit today.
It is a very old line. It invites 3...Qh4. In the 19th century, there was a lot of experimentation in the Kings Gambit. The main line is 3.Nf3. The alternative with 3.Bc4 allows for more errors for black. It is a very interessting line. Anand responded with the best reply. 3.Nf6.
Alexander has almost abandoned the chess. He teach students in sport University at Moscow and play 2-3 times at year small tournirs on rapid and blitz just for fun.
@@TheSoulBlossom, yes he do the group lessons for intermediate players and personal lessons for young GMs. One of he's present students is Serbian GM Alexander Indjich.
The two live commentators only say obvious or silly things.. Seems they forgot how to play a kings gambit, and kept on speaking about pawns.. He left a pawn, he captured one pawn.. Here it's all about time, guys! For instance capturing on c3 with the queen and then back its 2 times, and something usually you are not doing unless you threaten ex a rook.. Don't know what fkn engines say, but I know which are the main theme in king g and Vienna..
I just love how the commentary without engines makes the game more organic, collective and captivating.

These kind of games make chess beautiful
One of the most beautiful games I have ever seen . Vintage chess by Morozevich !!!
The game where we saw Morphy return to chess 140 years later!
except Morphy's attack wont always work against top players
@Philip Mack wow he commented 15 mins ago and 20 mins already passed wow
@@Qhsjahajw That's a myth

Beautiful game, thank you for posting this.
100% accuracy from Morozevich. Makes Nieman Jealous!
Briliant defeat of Anand at his peak right before playing for a World Championship.
Incredible.
Absolutely Incredible !
How on earth as a life-long King’s Gambit player and did I not know about this game? Awesome, thank you so much for sharing.
look ur rating first 😂
GENIUS game! what a brilliant performance. Thank you for this video~!
what an amazing game
The game where Morozevich became my favorite player
Who were those fantastic commentators?? They have made this into a more adventurous movie through their commentary
GM Danny King and GM Maurice Ashley.
Классная победа Александра , БРАВО !!
Early Maurice Ashley, interesting. Was better then than his current engine line reader incarnation today
Wooooow this was the best game I've ever seen
I miss the Intel Grand Prix. Great games.
You can never ever sac 2 pieces in a f7, g6, h7 pawn structure. I have never seen this before. It is amazing.
Wow, unbelievable Morezevich blowing the future world champ off the board Morphy style!!
Actually this was Anand in his prime
35:29 !!! Woah
What a brilliance, spectacular stuff
Carlsen was still memorizing countries and their capital during this time
Aleksandr Morozevich is God!
Best game I've ever seen.
This game was thrilling from move 2

You don't play g6+, you play Qh4+ as follow up to Bh7+ and black are still losing.
Yeah but he didn't play it, did he.
daniel king strong as ever.
Great game!

dude g5 is still the mainline. But playing d6 or what Anand played is a calmer approach to have slight advantage
@2:50 couldn't black move f6 then Qg5 for the block?
Blacks King then has f7 as an escape square.
Amazing Game!
Paul Morphy is applauding from the opera box.
Does anybody know what chess pieces they're using? I would like to buy them but I have no idea what they're called.
maybe you can look here www.chessusa.com/category/staunton-chess-sets.html

Who's commenting alongside GM Daniel King? Maurice Ashley by any chance?
Yes
Why in the hell they cut the live broadcast in the middle of the game?
wat a game
anand playing like alpha zero before alpha zero sacing pawn after pawn
Anand should have played Knight to D5. Defence against bishop/queen attack is BlackKnight F5 then king can escape for a draw.
They played again in 2018 and Moro went for another kings gambit! But lost badly this time he missed theory and lost his queen

Daniel and Maurice!!
incredible.. :)
Anand disliked this video. :p
Wait for Anand to come back in game , but ...
Two black rook are negligible impact on game .
at 31:00 anand could have played Rf8
But then Qxh5
befor q takes c3 , anand should have played ng6
please write result.

Not in this game
lol at what? losing against Magnus every time
